Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

All about NIT Silchar

Likes

The college environment is so friendly and adaptive.
The faculty's are well experienced and their teaching methodology are also quite good
The placement percentage and average is quite good

Dislikes

The connectivity of college is quite bad .

Placement Experience:

The student start getting internship offers from 5th semester onwards. Most of the renowned companies that visit are amazon , Microsoft, google, ibm and various other. Highest placement for year 2023 was 80lpa and average is 14.39lpa. Placement percentage for year 2023 was- 89.41% The plans after degree completion is to get a good placement.

NIT Silchar : Pros and Cons as an Engineering Institute

Likes

NIT SILCHAR has a beautiful campus and there's a lot of greenery.
The faculties and peer groups are nice here.
The sports and cultural stuff are very good, and the fests are awesome.

Dislikes

Inefficient lab equipment which hampers proper experiments
The pressure here is immense, although that must be true for all top tier colleges
The campus location is quite remote, which sometimes hinders campus placement opportunities

Placement Experience:

Campus placement eligibility begins from the seventh semester. Many companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs etc. Our branch average lies around 14-15 Lpa. And usually above 90% students get placed. I myself am planning to sit for placements as I don't wanna pursue higher studies.

NIT Silchar Everything You need to know

The college has a huge lush green campus of 650 acres with plenty of sports facilities a basketball court , football field ,Tennis court, Basketball court , Indoor stadium Kho kho and Kabaddi field and a Student activity Center
The professors are highly qualified with some being in the list oh world's top 2% scientist in the world.
Their multiple clubs and societies in the college which students can join based on their interest. (eg- GDSC, Codding club, Dance club(AAveg),Music club,NSS,NCC,etc.)

Dislikes

The Time Schedule might turn out quite hectic at times at time classes starting from 8 am in the morning to 5 PM in the evening
Though teachers are highly qualified not all are good at teaching and some are at times even too strict
The older hostels do not have good bathrooms and rooms are quite small compared to number of students accomodeted

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite great with highest placement at a staggering 1.62 Cr, many got placed into companies like Catterpillar, Microsoft, amazon , etc. The companies that visited include- APDCL, ONGC, Microsoft, Catterpiller, flipkart, NRL. Percentage of students placed- 80%

The freshman experience

Likes

The college campus has a lot of greenery and its just absolutely beautiful.
The extra curricular activities in the institute provide a massive opportunity for students to explore different clubs and develop their personality along with the academics.
The sports facilities are quite impressive as the college has a standard cricket ground,football ground and dedicated indoor sports complex which includes badminton courts, table tennis courts as well as a standard equipped gym.

Dislikes

The quality of hostel facilities needs to be improved.
The mess food has been a great upset for most of the students.
The girls to boys ratio is quite low which makes it quite difficult for social interaction with girls.

Placement Experience:

The students who are in their final year of btech are eligible for campus placements.In 2024, over 200 companies visited the institute for providing placements to students which is quite a good number. A few of them were google, adobe, microsoft, amazon, goldman sachs, samsung, jio, nvidia and many more.Around 600 offers were made by the companies this year. The highest package of this year was 52 lpa and the average package was around 13 lpa.The percentage of students placed were around 80 percent. My plan after getting the degree would be to secure a placement in a reputed company with a standard package.

Lush and Green Campus with Good Campus life

Likes

Truly the surrounding environment is very green
Good college life as compared to other colleges

Dislikes

Poor infrastructure and very old buildings
For south indians, here food is somewhat different
Less time for exam is provided compared to other colleges

The placement of this college are pretty good as compared to some other National Institute of Technology The average package for Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation engineering are almost same

Likes

The campus is serene and beautiful with fresh and green environment. The view during the evening is really pleasing
The faculty support and guidance is really good here. If you are able to built good relation with the professors , you would be greatly benefitted
The placement scenerio so far in the college has been really great and is expected to grow further in the future.

Dislikes

The campus is not well managed. I mean they have a lot of spaces, still the infrastructure is so mismanaged and ill-built.
The weather in the city is not something everyone can adjust to.
The Food here is horrible and no one is bothered even when many of us get sick due to it.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio is quite good in the campus. Most of the studemts gets placed from on-campus placements, around 80-90%. Also the packages are also satusfactory. We are also encouraged to pursue higher studies and excell in the domains further for a better understanding of the subject. But it is purely on the students personal choice.

huge campus spread across 600+ acres . its lush green beauty is adorable .
the placements obviously speak tons about the college and are pretty decent
the air quality here always stays excellent which tough to get these days

Dislikes

the hostels are quite old for today which is a concern
minute level of language barrier comes out but is not a big concern

It has good coding and development culture
It has a land area of 625 acres with full of greenery
Many clubs are their that you can join as per your interest and skill

Dislikes

The administration are not so friendly and rude
The mess food are sometime worst and in some occasions they cook very nice
The gym are not well equipped with the machines and instruments and of the machines are broken

Placement Experience:

Stident are eligible from 7 th semester to sit in th placement program. Amazon swiggy flipkart mastercard nypc iocl bhel and many more that come to the campus for the placement. The highest package is 82 lakh and the average is 15 lakh. Most of the student get placed and many of them go for high studies.

The campus is filled with greenery, streching over 600 aceres, so you'll never get bored exploring all it has to offer.
The seniors here are incredibly welcoming and supportive. They are always ready help us regarding academic problems.
The professors are also supporting here. They are always ready to help u. But obviously not all of them.

Dislikes

Here the intime for first year girls is 7pm which according to me seems unfair.
Renovation is needed on campus as some classrooms lack the essential features like doors.
The library here is beautiful but the downside is that it opens at 10am and closes at 5pm.

As I wanted to explore the things from beginning they are several intersting things which ECE teach us.exam taking frequency is quite good at nit Silchar they used to take minors mid sem and end sem and practical exams also

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.

Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
