Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum teaches us a lot about IC s their working which motivated me to take the course with the emerging semiconductor industry. The curriculum is well versed with real world application even though it needs upgrading as it has become pretty old. THe frequency and timing of exams are good enough even though the number of exams after midsems increase drastically.
Internships Opportunities
The students mostly go for internships outside the campus though many companies come for internship oppotunities but they mostly come for CS branch students. For IT internships you need to make projects the solve real life problems .
Placement Experience
The placement of the college is quite great with highest placement at a staggering 1.62 Cr, many got placed into companies like Catterpillar, Microsoft, amazon , etc. The companies that visited include- APDCL, ONGC, Microsoft, Catterpiller, flipkart, NRL. Percentage of students placed- 80%

Campus Life
The campus is quite large 650 acres lush green with 21 lakes. Their are almost all the sports facilities teenis, cricket, football, lawn tennis table tennis, vollleyball, badminton, etc. I have played basketball, chess, tennis here. There are multiple clubs which organise multiple events through out the year ensuring student engagement, I participated in hackathons, Treassure hunts workshops . I am a volunteer of NSS and a part of it I went to villages for conducting surveys , donation camps, which helped me develop my communication skills and dealing with different kinds of people.
Hostel Facilities
The facilty of hostels depends from hostel to hostel the newer ones are quite spacious and beautiful adn even one of the hstels has its own campus for it being so large (Hostel 9). But some of the older one are not that spacious and old bathrroms and toilets. The electricity and water is available 24*7 , their is facility of LAN which provide decent amount of interent speed but though the cell phone internet and network does not works well enough.
Admission
I chose this collgege because it is in my homestate has a great allumni connection , great placement and highly qualified faculties. The other colleges I applied for were NIT Durgapur , AEC,NIT callicut,IIIT Pune,NIT Andhra Pradesh. NIT SIlchar has largest campus amomg all these colleges...and a great placement. I couldn't get into NIT Calicut because my rank was not good enough, I got NIT andhra Pradesh CIvil but I didn't like the branch . I got into AEC CSE but itd placement record is not good.
Faculty
The student and faculty relationship is good enough. There are som teachers who are so easily approachable and would guide you through every situation. There are also some who would give you a treat on Teachers; day or buy you pani puri in a stall. But there are some who aren't easily approachable have shot temper and at times make student's life a little difficult. The exams are of three types- midsems (30 marks) class test 10 marks and Endsem 50 marks. The level of the exams depends from subject to subject but mostly remain on the moderate difficulty side.
