Having known some people studying at both these institutions, I can say that BITS Goa is better than NIT Surathkal. In terms of infrastructure, BITS Goa is obviously better than NIT Surathkal. Better companies visit BITS Goa campus than NIT Surathkal. The course curriculum and the quality of academic projects are also better at BITS Goa. The faculty at BITS Goa is also top-notch. In between the two branches, both are almost the same barring a few subjects (3 subjects to be precise). The course load, placements, and projects all are similar between the two. As these are core branches, getting placed in the core companies is going to be difficult at either of the institutes. grading is very bad. The average grades provided are lower than other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee is 6 lakh per year, divided into 2 semesters. Each semester fee is 3 lakh, which includes 2.5 lakh of tuition and 50 thousand hostel + mess fee. The fee is to be submitted in January at the start of semester 1 and then in August at the start of semester 2. It can be paid either through a card or a bank transfer.

ZERO ATTENDANCE POLICY: Student have the flexibilty to appear for exams even with zero attendance to classes which give them the freedom to explore their interest irrespective of the degree

HIGH FEE: almost 30 lakhs for a 4 year degree
No government funding: BITS being a pvt institution recieves no govt funding, which is to be beared by students

The tution payable to the college is 245000 per semester in the first year, which increases at a rate of 5% every year. Other fees while admmission include admission fee of 53900, SU fees of 400, cautionary deposit of 3000(which is refundable). Registration fee for the admission tes BITSAT is 5500. Mess advance of 10000- and misc. 12000. So the total 1st semester fee payable is 349825. Including the increase of 5% every year, the total 4 year fee adds up to 2535000. Apart from scholarships, financial aid is also given to needy students irrespective of their academic performance

BITS Pilani, Goa- Absolutely worth it

Year wise we pay 6lakh Rs, approximately 3 lakh per semester. For each semester Tution fees is 243000, MIS, advance 12000, mess advance 1lakh, this is excluding hostel fees. The fee structure is same for all categories. Two types of scholarships are available, one is merit cum need and one just on the basis of merit.

The Overall life and Experience at BITS Pilani Goa Campus

The infrastructure is properly maintained with AC classrooms and lecture theatres which also has a recording system for future reference to the course
BITS also provides so many different opportunities to students and a variety of things to pursue based on what you want to study

The fees is a bit high which makes it unaffordable to some groups of people

Best private college in india

Fees increase by15% each year which is not good for economically weaker students, the merit scholarship amount is less too and income verification should improve too as some people take advantage of that.

BITS Pilani Goa campus review

The fees hike policy was 10% every year. The college availed it each year. I did not avail any scholarships or jobs on campus. Overall the experience was good. We have both merit-based and need cum merit-based scholarships.

I am currently a 2nd-year student. Cost to study is high as compared to government colleges abkit double the price. Financial assistance was provided by the campus in terms of student loans. Internships etc start from the onset of the 3rd year.

Fee hikes were about 10% as I recall. The cost to study was reasonable as compared to any other private engineering college. There were two scholarships: Merit (top 10 students) and Merit-cum-need (~100 students)
