Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is mostly up to the date with industry standards. In most of the courses ,contents are revised every year. The curriculum stands out with fully flexible credit system. students can chose the electives they are interested in irrespective of their degree discipline. There's a provision also to take projects under professor which contribute to your degree credits

Internships Opportunities

4

There are two tyypes of internships the college provides: PS1 after the end of your 2nd year which is unpaid and PS2 in your 4th year which is paid. The PS allotment process is based on your cgpa. Apart from this, you can apply for summer internships in 3rd year, which is merit based and not guaranteed. Its relatively tougher to get an SIP. If you choose not to attend PS1/2, you can choose to do a thesis on/off campus

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible to college placements from 7th semester More than 300 companies visit every year which include MNCs, startups, spread over all major domains like IT, Electronics, consulting, finance, core, product management etc The highest package varies every year but the average stands at around 18-20lpa. more than 90% of the students get placed every year. i plan to build my career in ET industry after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution payable to the college is 245000 per semester in the first year, which increases at a rate of 5% every year. Other fees while admmission include admission fee of 53900, SU fees of 400, cautionary deposit of 3000(which is refundable). Registration fee for the admission tes BITSAT is 5500. Mess advance of 10000- and misc. 12000. So the total 1st semester fee payable is 349825. Including the increase of 5% every year, the total 4 year fee adds up to 2535000. Apart from scholarships, financial aid is also given to needy students irrespective of their academic performance

Campus Life

4

Clubs are very active in the college. All of them are student run and BITS Goa hosts the largest completely student run college cultural fest of India, Waves. The resources in library are also vast. BITS Goa hosts the state's largest library. Sports are also given good importance. Almost all sports have a dedicated team who have practice sessions and frequently attend tournaments outside the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good. All basic neccesities are provided. Each student is given a single room after first year. The room is well equipped with basic ammenities although its not very luxurious. the hostel fees is around 25000 per semester with electricity charge @ 22 rps/ day and mess charge at 152rps/day. Students are not allowed to rent a room or PG.Its a completely residential campus. Even though your home is in the vicinity of campus, you are not allowed to be aday scholar. Everyone is a hosteller. the mess food is also good. the menu change every month which is looked after by the mess committe.

Admission

Why BITS over other colleges: No reservation policy and pure merit based admission Better campus life and less Pressure than IIT/NITs Fully flexible curriculum Global alumni network and strong placements No attendance policy JEE advanced is highly needed and requires in depth understanding of the subject even though your speed is a bit low and your whole syllabus is not covered BITSAT requires overall syllabus to be covered and high speed because the number of questions are more.

Faculty

4

The ratio typically varies between 1:15 to 1:20. the faculties are very approachable. every faculty has dedicated chamber consultation hours during which students can discuss any type of issues academic / non academic. There no particular faculty i didnt like about Exam structure: there's 1 midsem and 1 comprehensive examination which contribute to more than 70 percent of the course the remaining 30 percent is evenluy spread across the semester on the descretion of instructor.

Night Life

5

The nightlife is very good. There are no hostel in-time restrictions. Although the library closes at 12 am midnight, there's a 24/7 reading room accesible throughout the year. The campus in time timings are 10 30 pm. Night canteens are available which run till 2:30 am. The locality is very safe to roam around at night.

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too
