Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is a bit good than many other colleges which helps the students to cope up with the recent market requirements. The college is really trying to provide modern skills. The Academics is quite decent of the college but there is a negative side which I personally don't like is the frequency of examination for example there a 3 internals which are being conducted every month which seems like you have just appeared for an exam and again you are writing for the exam .

Campus Life

The campus life is quite good than other colleges as it is in the city and well connected with metro. Almost there are 45 clubs in college which is quite and learn you skills to communicate and how to handle situations . Digital library of 7 floor is inside the college where you can study with no disturbance. There are 2 major fests conducted in this college which are - a) VIBRATIONS b) FURORE There are many student run social groups such as MUDITA which helps many people.

Campus Life

At my very first day in the college is worst experience i ever had. As I was new to Bangaluru city it did not liked the environment. Our college has many clubs to join but they are not as good as other colleges. But liked the most is NCC in our campus. And our college has very small ground to play but they give scholarship if we achieved something

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly I am paying 111796 to the college as fee. In that 91796 is government allotted fee and 20000 will be taken as fee for skill development fee. Our college will also provide many scholarship to students like economically backward students upto 40000, achievement in sports and ncc upto 30000, and for meritorious students also upto 30000.

Course Curriculum Overview

We are affliated to the anna university so the syllabus and curriculum are all prepared by the university. The curriculum was good. Areas of improvement for me would be the blooming technologies like AI and deep learning, IOT which were not included in electronics and communication syllabus. Curriculum is just 50 percent helpful when we compare it with the outer real world. But this curriculum acts as a foundation and helps us grow individually.

Faculty

I had a good relationship with all the faculties of my department. Staffs would clear my doubt and were approachable There were 6 theory and 2 lab per semester as per the 2017 regulation. The first two years of the study was not easy for any student. We had nearly 40 to 60 students maximum in class . During my batch we had 16 staffs but i cant remember the overall count of the students

Fees and Financial Aid

I started my B.E electronics and communication engineering course in Moodlakatte institute of technology kundapura. When I was admitted to this college the initial fee was supposed to 90000rs,but after analysing our financial background the institute thought of reducing the fee a little. So i was admitted into this institution with the total fee of 95000rs,in which around 85000rs was tution fee,1000rs caution fee,500 rs development fee,1500 rs admission fees and 2000rs lab fee and another 5000rs for necessary charges. The fee structure doesn't change for an individual throughout his campus life and same fee structure will be continued till one graduates. And a individual can ripe benefits of scholarships such as SSP and sujanananidhi etc which provides financial support from rs 10000 and above with their own terms and conditions. There might be some other scholarship programs available for one from SC and ST background while they have their own criteria.overall the institution is better for those from middle class.

Faculty

• The Faculty-to-student ratio is 3:120. The faculty to student relationship is also very good. Every time faculties are available for students doubts and they explain easily. • There are many good facilities are there so to name any good faculty is not an easy job. They all provide their best for us, to u teach us. So this is very good. • No, all facilities are good and every faculty have their own teaching style and every student have different learning style. So this is depend on teacher or student. • There are two exam's are conduct. The first one is mid sem which is taken by college and this is based on faculties of subjects and college respectively. This mid sem is around 30 marks. In this exam some are pass or fail its depends on students. But the question are come from the faculty which wae taught on the class. And the other exam is 70 marks which is taken by Gujarat Technological University and this is the most important exam for every student. Most of the students are fail in this exam.

Ques. I got NIT Surathkal ECE and IIIT Bangalore CSE. I am joining IIIT Bangalore CSE, is it a good decision?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 14 Sept 23

Ans. This is a very subjective question. However, as a student of ECE at NIT Surathkal, I am writing down a few points in defense of my degree- First of all, NIT Surathkal offers a much more complete and diversified engineering education. This is because you will get to interact with the students of various disciplines from around the institution. This will offer a good exposure in contrast to the IIITs which are entirely focused on CSE and ECE branches. ECE is the branch of the future. CSE is turning more and more into a commodity. This is due to the dilution of its educational standards, and the increasing volume of students in this branch.  As an ECE student, you can always learn programming (it is in fact a part of the curriculum in a limited manner). However, it is much more difficult to learn the concepts of ECE as a CSE student.  As an ECE student you can be placed in a software company, but as a CSE student you can’t work in the E&C field.  Both the colleges are good, but NITK holds more prestige because it is much older. Its campus is very impressive as well. But even IIIT Bangalore CSE is a great option. Once you’ve made a decision, stop seeking others’ opinions. Instead, work on your skill enhancement. Considering the sheer lack of core jobs in the electronics sector in India and the huge placement opportunities in the IT sector, your choice is good from a placement point of view. Read more

Ques. How is ABES EC as an engineering college and what are its downfalls?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Sharma on 10 Mar 22

Ans. Overall ABES EC is an average engineering college at best. Here are some of the pros and cons of joining the institutes.  Pros:  It has great infrastructural facilities. There is centralized AC for all blocks in the whole college. The lush green campus will soothe your eyes. The hostel accommodation is well furnished and maintained regularly.  There are many food courts that sell good quality food at reasonable prices. The campus has a big stadium that conducts different cricket matches. Some of the faculty members are cooperative and student-friendly.  The ABES EC placement scenario is decent. The average CTC offered to students is around INR 6 LPA. There are many clubs like Samvaad Theatre Group, Technovation, etc. in which you can take part.  Cons:  ABES EC has a strict 75% attendance rule. Failing to maintain this can lead to detention.  The institute calls parents if they don’t attend your class.  The hostel curfew timing for girls is strict. You need to be inside the hostel premises at 6 pm during winter and 6:30 pm during summer.  The video will take you on a tour across the ABES Capus Overall, your time at ABES EC will be a bittersweet one. Read more

Ques. How are the ECE placements at Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Tania Sharma on 03 Aug 23

Ans. In general, there are very limited core placement opportunities in ECE because of the limited scope in this field especially in India. ECE placements at Thapar University are no different. As a whole, ECE placements here are decent because mostly consultancies and management visits for recruitment. The only issue is that core jobs are very less. But on the bright side, students of Thapar University can sit for placements in all branches thereby opening more gates of opportunities for them. This makes up for the lack of core jobs.  I asked a friend about the placements scenario of ECE and she shared a few pieces of information Around 60-65% of students get placed in the ECE department. The highest salary package offered is 30 LPA,  The lowest salary package is 4 LPA,  The average salary package is 6 LPA to 7 LPA.  Top Recruiters are Amazon, WDC Gameskraft, McKinsey, JP Morgan, etc.  Around 75% of students get internship offers in roles such as SDE, member of technical staff, and quant. In all, ECE placements at Thapar University are average. Read more

Ques. How is ECE in IIIT Hyderabad?

● Top Answer By Souvick Gupta on 02 Aug 23

Ans. The ECE program at IIIT Hyderabad is more focused on IT than Electronics because IIIT Hyderabad itself is an IT institute. Other colleges have a lot of non-IT courses in the first year  of their ECE program whereas IIIT Hyderabad ECE has no such courses in the firsts year  ECE stands for many things in different places. ECE in IIIT is Electronics and communication engineering. However, unlike Electronics in other institutes. IIIT Hyderabad ECE program does not include courses such as electrical machines, electric drives, power systems, power electronics, and related labs and workshops.  The students of both ECE and CSE at IIIT Hyderabad are taught common courses sin the first year after which students can take CS courses as electives. Some of these include Statistical Methods in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Artificial Neural and Networks (ANN).   IIIT Hyderabad does not have official CS and ECE departments enabling students from any stream to join any research center irrespective of the program they are enrolled in.  IIIT Hyderabad ECE placements are great Placement % 100% Highest CTC  INR 46 LPA Average CTC  INR 29 LPA Lowest CTC INR 13 LPA Overall, ECE at IIIT Hyderabad is certainly a great choice!Read more

Ques. Which is better NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE?

● Top Answer By Arnav Roy on 24 Jul 23

Ans. NIT Trichy is always considered superior to its counterparts and rightly so. The institute has a record of excellent placements, a competitive environment, and a highly learned faculty pool. NIT Calicut is well-known for its exceptionally good CSE department.  So, I think the decision of choosing between  NIT Trichy ECE and NIT Calicut depends more on personal preferences than the institute. However you would like to consider the following points before making the final decision, ECE is a bit more challenging than CSE in terms of the curriculum and the opportunities offered. However, hard work and assistance from faculty can help you. CSE on the other hand is an evergreen branch that has a record of providing hefty packages and great opportunities in general. NIT Trichy has a difficult campus life owing to its extremely hot climate and remote location. NIT Silchar has a pleasant climate with a beautiful lush green campus.  If you look at the overall picture, both colleges have excellent departments and offer similar opportunities, so the major determining criteria should be your branch preference. If you are interested in electronic systems and communication, go for NIT Trichy ECE but if you have an interest in programming NIT Calicut CSE is better for you.Read more

Ques. How is NIT Jalandhar for ECE?

● Top Answer By Vibhu Sharma on 02 Jan 23

Ans. Avoid choosing NIT Jalandhar if your goal is to study ECE for the sake of studying ECE sincerely and devotedly. ECE at NIT Jalandhar emphasizes placement, specifically in an IT company. As an ECE student, you'll be expected to perform exceptionally well in coding and other CSE-related courses. Additionally, the compensation packages provided by core businesses fall well short of what an ECE student would expect, further decreasing the appeal of ECE core. It is recommended that you choose another institute if you're passionate about electronics and want to pursue a successful career in the field rather than NITJ.Read more

Ques. How is DTU for ECE?

● Top Answer By Atrisa Dutta on 14 Aug 20

Ans. The ECE branch at DTU is very competent. It has a pool of talented, intelligent, and hardworking students. The reason being that the cutoffs for ECE usually are high. DTU ECE students get placed every year in MNCs like Qualcomm, SanDisk, TI, Samsung, and other such reputed firms that hire electronics engineers. A good percentage of the students also pursue an MS from renowned universities across the globe. Students also prepare for competitive exams like CAT, GATE, UPSE CSE, and even succeed in them. The faculty here is very knowledgeable and teaches lucidly. They are also very lenient in their evaluation. The curriculum is entirely focused on hardware, communication, computer architecture, advanced integrated circuits, signals and systems, superior probability, networking, and control systems. This is just a broad classification, the actual curriculum is vast, and students can find a lot of interesting sub-fields in electronics. The only drawback of the curriculum is that it does not offer any CSE electives. Assignments are scarce and can be efficiently dealt with as the solutions are readily available from various sources. The workload is at the bare minimum level. The exams require just a couple of weeks of diligent studying. For the rest of the semester, one is free to explore his/her skills, hobbies, and interests. 75% and above GPA is straightforward to achieve and maintain. Pushing a bit more during the exam period can fetch even 80% and above. This all makes the college life here very exciting and rewarding. To sum up, ECE at DTU is a good option that can be exercised if one compares among the top NITs.Read more
