In NEET UG counselling, open states refer to the states that allow candidates from other states (non-domicile candidates) to take part in the counselling process for UG admissions. The NEET result 2025 will be declared by 14th June 2025 and after that counselling for both AIQ and state quota seats is expected to be conducted last week of July 2025 or first week of Aug 2025. The duration of the counselling process is around 3-4 months.
- To get a MBBS seat in top AIQ government colleges, candidates need to aim for a score of 650+.
- Anything between 500-600 score is generally accepted, for private MBBS depending upon the management quota or stated quota.
So, Students who have secured an average NEET score (between 450 - 550) and have not secured a government seat in their own state can benefit from open states.
