CUET passing marks are the minimum CUET scores required for admission to various universities participating in the CUET UG examination. CUET passing marks depend on the CUET cutoffs that each participating university releases during the CUET UG admission process. As per the CUET cutoff analysis from past years, the CUET passing marks for general category candidates are expected to be 180-230 out of 250 for the General category, 150-200 for OBC, 150-200 for SC, and 120 to 170 for SC and ST candidates.

For DU, the expected CUET passing marks for general category candidates for various courses are 730 to 780 out of 1000, and for OBC category candidates, the CUET passing marks are 700-7560.

For BHU, the expected CUET cutoff marks are 680-780 for the general category and 650-750 marks for OBC category candidates.

CUET passing marks for JNU for general category candidates are expected to be around 700-760 and 670-730 for OBC candidates.
CUET passing marks for SC and ST candidates are relatively lower than general and OBC candidates. The expected CUET passing marks for SC and ST candidates are 630 to 720 for DU, 580-710 for BHU, and 600 to 690 for JNU.
NTA announced the CUET UG result 2025 on 4 July 2025. The CUET 2025 examination was conducted from 13 May to 4 June 2025.

What are CUET Passing Marks
CUET passing marks are the minimum CUET marks or percentile scores required for admission to courses offered by CUET participating universities, such as DU, AMU, BHU, JNU, and other state, deemed, and private universities. Students must score higher than the CUET passing marks to secure admission to CUET universities by participating in the CUET counselling process conducted by respective universities. Generally, out of 250, 120-230 marks are expected to be the CUET passing marks for different categories.

Aspirants belonging to the general category can expect CUET passing marks of around 180-230. However, candidates belonging to the OBC-NCL category can expect CUET passing marks of 150-200.
- The expected CUET passing marks for each subject for the EWS category are 150-200 out of 250.
- For SC and ST category candidates, the expected CUET passing marks are 120-170 for each subject.

How are CUET Passing Marks Determined?
Passing marks for CUET 2025 will be determined by participating universities and will be released on the official websites of the respective universities. Universities participating in CUET 2025 will announce the passing marks in the form of a merit list or CUET qualifying marks. CUET cutoff or merit list released by the universities will be considered for shortlisting candidates for admission to the courses offered by the universities. Participating institutes determine the CUET cutoff based on the factors mentioned below.
- Program/course: CUET 2025 passing marks will be different for different courses offered by participating universities. Passing marks for CUET can be lower or higher depending on the availability of seats and number of applicants for respective courses.
- Reservation: Passing marks for CUET also vary based on the reservation criteria for CUET 2025. CUET passing marks for reserved categories are lower than that of general category passing marks.
- Question Paper Difficulty Level: Passing marks for CUET 2025 are also determined based on the difficulty level of the CUET question paper. To balance the difficulty level of the CUET 2025 question paper and create fairness, participating universities apply the CUET normalization process.
