- Friendly faculty is one of the most liked factor of the department.
- Helpful admin staff of the department makes work easier
Dislikes
- As a govt college the office staffs are very lazy.
- There is as such no scope of placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The course fee was around 120000rs. Yearly around 40000 and it increases per year. At my time no scholarship was there. The 40000rs/year can be given in installment every semester also extra around 1500rs is required in every semester as examination fees.
Likes
- Even after being a government aided institution, regular classes and attendance take place. Sometimes when any professor is busy, or couldn't attend the class, the college inform us from before hand so that no student faces any harrassment.
- All professors at Asutosh Mookherjee college are very much approached and they conduct classes very seriously and explains lucidly.
Dislikes
- I'm disappointed with the political climate at Asutosh College but unfortunately it is prevalent in almost every govt aided colleges in West Bengal.
- Asutosh College faces challenges due to it's urban setting and lacks a green campus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
I paid ?7060 for first year. No matter whatever subject combined you take up, the fees for BA eng hons remains the same i.e ?7060. Admission fees in total ?7060(this includes first year fees too) Total course fees (8 semesters):- ?28,240-/- No lab fees in BA English hons. There's nothing like compulsory charges or development fees as it's a fully govt aided college. Fees of my batchmates is as same as me (?7060) Although Asutosh College does not offer its own scholarships, students can avail all other various government scholarship schemes as it is a fully government-aided institution. Hostel charges:- Boys' Hostel:- ?10,500/per annum Girls' Hostel:- ?10,500/per annum
Likes
- As a reputed college, Asutosh College had a great faculty and good exposure to the theoretical particulars. We also had common room in which we had games as well as our own play ground for outdoor games. The gender ratio was about 1:1.
Dislikes
- The administration process of the Calcutta university is a bit tedious.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The year-wise fee i paid at 2018 (my passing year) was Rs, 1194 in total, of which, Rs. 600 was tuition fee, Rs. 100 - Admission fee, Rs, 44 accumulating the Game, Union, Magazine, Student's Aid Fund, Student Health home fee etc. Library fee was Rs. 400. However, noeadays, the fee has hiked to Rs. 7250 per year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fees for 1 st year 8590,Fees for 2nd year 8890, Fees for 3 rd year 9000 and total fees 26000. Same fees is applicable for all categories like SC,ST,OBC and General.Scholarships like DST-INSPIRE,Swami Vivekananda scholarship, National scholarship etc.are available for the students.

- The good course, the college is naac A, friendly seniors, many fests, a good alumuni
- So many sports activity, cultural program

- No campus, strict teachers, attendance mandatory
- Non ac class rooms, no lift, canteen at top floor

I am doing bsc Fisheries Per semester fees is 9.6k Admission fees was 20k Registration was free Financial scholarship such as prime minister scholarship is available, which is merit based and other than that, swami vivekanand scholarship is available, which is for people whose family annual income is less than 2.5lpa

- The events that took place like freshers farewell and excursions
- Several band performances and movie promotions
Dislikes
- Political involvement was too much in the college
- Syllabus was very tough and assignments were very lengthy
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Calcutta University sets very tough question paper for students and also provides too much facilities to SC. CU doesn't give adequate marks for the answers and syllabus is also too long for the students.
Likes
- I liked the faculty for the English Department.
- The seniors in this college are very helpful.
Dislikes
- The college is too politically driven at times.
- The college washrooms are not very clean.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The fees for English Honours is 5000 for six semesters for three years. Thus, the total is 30000 which is the total course fee. There are no in college scholarships but you can apply for government scholarships.

- Cultural programmes and events, sincerity of professors, compulsory attendance
Dislikes
- Extreme college politics and unnecessary toxic environment for students discouraging students from going to college,no development in college infrastructure,not a good environment for education only entertainment purposes no sincerity in students
- Extremely difficult question paper set by university, sometimes even out of syllabus questions, resulting in year loss for final year students, very strict checking no provision for grace marks resulting in depression among students

- No campass too conjusted area, too much politics
- Small department and lobby culture , insufficient and dirty washroom,
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The total tuition fee for this course is INR 16800 for the entire duration of this course. We have our compulsory field work for about 14 days each year for which we have to give about 15-18k. So the complete cost is quite high for us. The College provides us svmcm scholarship but there are some eligibility criteria.

- Environment of the area, supportive nature of the professors
- Good communication with professors, supply of good equipments
Dislikes
- College infrastructure like it always under construction
- Canteen food as we are college students and the pricing of the food is extremely high
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
I am pursuing sociology honours from the college Ashutosh which is affiliated to Calcutta University . It is the best Government College in Kolkata and it provide us with all necessary equipments that we need to study a particular subject Ashutosh college has all the courses that a student wants to do for an example from BA honours in sociology two psychology to botany to zoology including fisheries and et cetera similarly like BBA on nurse BCom extra you can purse you from this college if he talk about the infrastructure tho the college is very old it's very old and it is always under construction like somewhere the other the construction is going on so that the students in future don't suffer any problem and like we are not suffering but when we use to go it's always like sounds of knocking or something but all over it is good.
