Affordable and Average College

Likes

Friendly faculty is one of the most liked factor of the department.
Helpful admin staff of the department makes work easier

Dislikes

As a govt college the office staffs are very lazy.
There is as such no scope of placements.

Faculty:

Faculties are very friendly and experienced and also helpul by teaching thorougly and clearing doubts, giving notes. Calcutta university examinations are hard and lenghty and marking scheme is too critical.

Life at Asutosh Mookherjee college as a freshman

Likes

Even after being a government aided institution, regular classes and attendance take place. Sometimes when any professor is busy, or couldn't attend the class, the college inform us from before hand so that no student faces any harrassment.
All professors at Asutosh Mookherjee college are very much approached and they conduct classes very seriously and explains lucidly.

Dislikes

I'm disappointed with the political climate at Asutosh College but unfortunately it is prevalent in almost every govt aided colleges in West Bengal.
Asutosh College faces challenges due to it's urban setting and lacks a green campus.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is 5:144 The faculty members are very approachable between 10 AM to 5 PM. The faculty is warm, welcoming and also eager to help students. Faculties of English, geography and microbiology are the best at Asutosh Mookherjee college. I personally like Paromita Choudary ma'am and Asis Sahu sir (HoD) from our dept. There's no perticular teacher I didn't like at Asutosh Mookherjee college. There are 8 semesters for 5 years undergraduate degree. All exams are conducted externally. Approximately 2% of students at Asutosh Mookherjee college fail to clear the university examinations. The curriculum is also highly relevant to the industry needs. Students gain practical knowledge and skills.

As a reputed college, Asutosh College had a great faculty and good exposure to the theoretical particulars. We also had common room in which we had games as well as our own play ground for outdoor games. The gender ratio was about 1:1.

Dislikes

The administration process of the Calcutta university is a bit tedious.

Faculty:

We had 3 professors to teach a batch of about 150 students. They were very approachable. There were mainly one internal examination and a final one per year. Although nowadays the college runs the semester system.

Faculty:

Total 7 professors are available. They are very student friendly. When I was the student of this college, 6 semester based exam system was available. Now the pattern has changed. It is converted to 4 year bachelor course which consists of 8 semester.

The good course, the college is naac A, friendly seniors, many fests, a good alumuni
So many sports activity, cultural program

Dislikes

No campus, strict teachers, attendance mandatory
Non ac class rooms, no lift, canteen at top floor

Faculty:

Exams are semester wise Students vary from department to department For giving exams, u need to go to other colleges The faculty mrmbers are helpful but very strict, they will help you if you ask questions.

Struggle of Calcutta University

Likes

The events that took place like freshers farewell and excursions
Several band performances and movie promotions

Dislikes

Political involvement was too much in the college
Syllabus was very tough and assignments were very lengthy

Faculty:

Professor Dhiman was a very nice faculty both in fields of studies and extra curricular activities. He used to sing in our events. One of the strict professors were SM who was not very friendly and cordial to the students.

Overall Life at Asutosh College

Likes

I liked the faculty for the English Department.
The seniors in this college are very helpful.

Dislikes

The college is too politically driven at times.
The college washrooms are not very clean.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is around 200:1 as of 2021. I personally loved Sraboni Ma'am because she was very helpful and i did not like AP sir because he was too careless at times and not helpful. There are six semesters with internal exams and almost everyone passes.

An Overall Review Of College Under Calcutta University

Likes

Cultural programmes and events, sincerity of professors, compulsory attendance

Dislikes

Extreme college politics and unnecessary toxic environment for students discouraging students from going to college,no development in college infrastructure,not a good environment for education only entertainment purposes no sincerity in students
Extremely difficult question paper set by university, sometimes even out of syllabus questions, resulting in year loss for final year students, very strict checking no provision for grace marks resulting in depression among students

Faculty and student relationship for the Science department is overall good, except few professors. However, that can be balanced out by, overall cooperative nature. The exam difficulty level is very tough, there are overall 6 semester examinations in the course of 3 years, and it's very difficult to clear the exams, because the paper set each time is very tough. The paper-checking procedures is not very student friendly too, there is no provision for grace marks.

All the faculty members are highly qualified. They all are very friendly and teaches us like their own child. They all are available all the time when we needed. They share their experiences with us. We feel very comfortable while interacting with them .

Basic things about your dream college asutosh College

Likes

Environment of the area, supportive nature of the professors
Good communication with professors, supply of good equipments

Dislikes

College infrastructure like it always under construction
Canteen food as we are college students and the pricing of the food is extremely high

Faculty:

Teachers are very helpful in the class they provide us with all the equipments needed and they support us when we are in any problem and they give up the time maybe sometimes we are busy or something but whenever we call them the pickup are call and solve problem problem.
