Likes

As a reputed college, Asutosh College had a great faculty and good exposure to the theoretical particulars. We also had common room in which we had games as well as our own play ground for outdoor games. The gender ratio was about 1:1.

Dislikes

The administration process of the Calcutta university is a bit tedious.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum we faced was indeed very open ended in all the theoretical aspects. We also learned quantitative measures as a part of the course. However, compared to the competitive industries it was more theoretical.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The year-wise fee i paid at 2018 (my passing year) was Rs, 1194 in total, of which, Rs. 600 was tuition fee, Rs. 100 - Admission fee, Rs, 44 accumulating the Game, Union, Magazine, Student's Aid Fund, Student Health home fee etc. Library fee was Rs. 400. However, noeadays, the fee has hiked to Rs. 7250 per year.

Campus Life

We had a very entertaining and engazing social life at the campus. We had different units of our student's management board responsible to organize different celebrations all throughout the year. Apart from that we also had anual freshres welcoming ceremony, farewell ceremony, Externam games etc.

Admission

I applied to Asutosh College and the City College, kolkata. I got selected in both the colleges mentioned previously, This college had better ranking in NAAC and a better reputation for the faculty as well as a greater campus.

Faculty

We had 3 professors to teach a batch of about 150 students. They were very approachable. There were mainly one internal examination and a final one per year. Although nowadays the college runs the semester system.

Other Applied Colleges

City College | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Economics)

I got admission in both and Asutosh College had better ranking in NAAC as compared to the City College, with the promise of greater exposure to the course, Therefore I joined the Asutosh College.
