Remarks

Overall good college but they had ttoo much discipline and pressure. Felt like school time.no as such college fun.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is well suited for people who are driven towards research goals or any other renowned services in their life. They take individual care and thge professors were always approachable. Gave us enough time for our doubt clearing, understanding and knowledge.

Placement Experience

2.5

Our department wasn't meant for placement though. Haven't heard much on the placement side. I think that needs improvement definitely.

College Events

3.5

Cultural classes, Fests, Fresher's Welcome, Sports, Scripture Classes(specially for Christians), Reunion Programmes, Academic outings. Apart from these Picnics were being organised, teacher's day celebration and all other small occassions were being done by department individually.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very cheap, quite feasible for students. University charges is Rs 110 per month. Only microbiology students and computer students paid a bit high for lab fees. So in 3 years it is Rs 3960 which is quite manageable according to me. So cant say that the course was expensive.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life was good. We had 35 students in department with 13 girls. so approx 22:13 College union was there but it was not that violently exposed as school Principle was a strict man Labs were well maintained, Annual Sports was held once a year during December, Debates, Tech etc competitions took part with other colleges too.

Hostel Facilities

4

No I havent opted so not much idea. But there were 3 hostels mostly for boys and similar number for girls. It was sharing basis and quite good Quite spacious and it celebrated many events to provide family like feeling to people staying outside of their house for long

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Network of my department is good enough. They come almost every year for the reunion programme and do donations also.

Admission

Physics department is one of the star department of this college as well as in Kolkata. (General Category) I applied through my XIIth marks and in this department specifically they allow you to apply if you have 83% with Maths and Physics combined. After that they take an entrance exam and publish merit list considering weightage of both your 12th marks and the exam. (Reserved Category) They make selection based on your XIIth marks only. No exam.

Faculty

4.5

I had 7 lecturers during 2012-2015 batch in Physics. The number changes mostly depending on recruitment, requirements from time to time. They were real good, gave us enough time for doubt clearing and took very well planned classes from time to time for our better understanding.

It provides job opportunities for various fields such as forest service, zoo services, marine biologist and forensic. The curriculum provides hand on internship and opportunity for research in the 7th semester. More time management is required during the course to ensure proper completion of syllabus. The frequency of exam is 2 the gap between them are 4-5 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum matches quite perfectly with the industry standards. The course offers the students a theoritical as well as a practical approach of learning. For example, nowadays AI has revolutionised the internet and made things much easier for humans. it gives a vast amount of knowledge regarding the relevance of "media science" nowadays. I feel the frequency of continuous assessments should be reduced to 3 instead of 4.
