Remarks

I love my college. The college has given me my golden years of life and a lot of happy memories. The college and its faculty is helping me shape my future and become a better human each day. Its the best college in kolkata according to my eyes. Once you come to Asutosh, you leave with a family. I will never stop thanking my college for whatever it has given to me.

Placement Experience

1

No I havent availed any internships because right now I am in 2nd year. I dont think there is an opportunity to get any internships because none of the seniors get it from here. But yes they prepare you well so that you can get jobs and internships from outside easily.

College Events

5

There are a number of fests, competetions. cultural and seasonal festivals. They are really grand and a huge number of colleges participate here too. Overall those days are fundays for all of us. Its a huge gala event, we get food packets, we participate, its lot of fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very very feasible. Its not at all expensive. They provide both the payment methods, online and offline. The seniors are of great help. There are no additional charges that has to be paid in order to secure an admission to the course. The college provides transparency in the fee breakdown.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

No. I didnt avail any scholarship. The college provides facilities for availing the Kanyashree Prakalpa only for the female students.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is 600:1100. The student parties are very active and helpful. The student diversity is huge. There are students from all over India. There is absolute discipline and respect is given to everyone irrespective of their caste, colour, religion, sex, politics or economic status.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No. There is a hostel in the second campus of the asutosh college. I do not have a very good idea on the PG or its average rentals. I guess the quality is good enough.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the seniors are very helpful. The seniors not only help us but also guide us and inspire us to maintain the college conducts and rules.

Admission

Asutosh College is a renowned college in Kolkata. I chose Mass Communication because I love the subject. The Admission procedure is easy. Its based on merit list. There are 2 or 3 merit lists given. Then they'll call you for a short interview. If They like you, you get selected.

Faculty

4

The faculty of this college is really nice. They really help a lot in grooming the students. They are extremely friendly and supportive. They give us a brief note on what to study and what might come in exams. They make us confident and proud. The professors are very professional.

Course Curriculum Overview:

After completing my intermediate I got a very interest in the journalism field so I decided to choose this Course as a Carrier option. Mass Communication helped me to improve my communication skills with proper dignity and Discipline manner and also encouraged me to speak as a speaker in the crowd. Generally Internal and Final exams occurred in every semester and the Academic pressure is not so much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of journalism and mass communication is a very interesting course for me as it teaches how media is involved in our hole society and how it is so much important for our society . From this course I could have many opportunities in future like I could be a good journalist, scirpt writer, director and many more this course is really very important nowadays . Because nowadays without media we can't do anything. But I think this course have more theoritical work than practical I think practical work should be added more .We have 6 semester exams in this course which was taken after 6 months from every semester and the syllabus Is I think very tough .

Course Curriculum Overview:

My interest in the subject made me choose B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication (Hons). There were 15 students in my batch and there are 3 teachers. One among them is the HOD. The teaching style is satisfactory. Some teachers teach really well and provide timely notes. Although, the practical classes were not regular during my tenure ( mostly due to covid lockdown). The exams are conducted as per the schedule of Calcutta University and it is easy to pass with normal preparation.

They should start providing placements. As there is no placements option, it is very hard to find a job on our own after graduation. But if they start providing placements or atleast internship, it wil be great.

Every college has its own good and bad side. And asutosh is my college I don't think I will give much negative remarks about my own college. But I think they should be more attentive towards practical works and internship because now-a-days field experience and certificate matters the most.

The positive point if that the faculty members are good and helpful. The infrastructure is the best they could provide,be it labs or canteen. The activities are great too. The negative point is that they are very unpredictable with the exam dates or holiday dates, one cant plan well because of it.Also, they should provide food for the hostel students.
