- Calcutta University Online PG Registration Process has started. Students admitted to the PG courses must upload the relevant documents from Nov 6 to Dec 31, 2024. Further, Migrating Students must submit a hardcopy of the Students’ Registration Form at the Registrar’s Office from Nov 11 along with other required documents.
- The last date to apply for M.Music Courses 2024-2025 is Nov 11, 2024. The entrance test is scheduled for Nov 14, 2024. To check the complete schedule, click here.
- Applications are invited for admission to LLM/MSc/MA in Human Rights (Self-Financing Course). Aspirants can submit the online application forms through the university’s website (caluniv.ac.in) from Oct 25 to Nov 8, 2024. Entrance Test for the course is scheduled on Dec 1, 2024.

About Vidyasagar College
Vidyasagar College (VSC) was established in 1872 by Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar by the name of Metropolitan College. It offers UG and PG courses in both Arts and Science Stream. It has been accredited ‘B++’ grade by the NAAC team.
VSC is affiliated to Calcutta University and follows the curriculum of the University only. It is one of the oldest institutions in the country and was the first private college in India run by the Indians.
VSC offers B.A, B.Sc. (General & Hons.) programs in various specializations. The admission to the courses are merit-based. Candidates can apply online to get admission in VSC.
The Library of VSC has subscribed itself to INFLIBNET providing its students a large number of e-Journals and e-books. To enhance internal assessment, online MCQs have also been introduced. VSC follows a feedback mechanism to confirm high standards of education.

- The teachers are very helpful and friendly always there for the students.They are qualified and knowledgeable in their respective domains and try to teach at their level best.
- There is a huge collection of books, journals and sufficient relevant books in the library to fulfill the students requirements

- Our college is a heritage building with many historical touches.So our classrooms ,labs are so old.
- There is no hostel facilities in our college.So it is a problem to stay for those students who come from distance .

Admission process of this college is totally 12 th marks based.During admission,first I got chance in chemistry in this college.Later we got chances in many colleges but I feel and my teachers suggested me to take admission in this college

This college is good for study compared to other colleges which bring so many irregular activities or problems, this is so good. No, I get a Chance to many colleges but as I prepared for government exams I thought it was better to graduate from this college

- Our college campus, union, sports events, seminar, teachers, and exam process are absolutely good. The college lab, college seniors/juniors, and classmates are also great
- The laboratories at our College are very good. They are equipped with modern and essential equipments.
Dislikes
- The syllabus, set by the University of Calcutta, is very outdated and lacks room for a research-driven curriculum.
- The college does provide some extra benefits for financially poor students, but the numbers are really low

Align with my interests and career .Research the college's ranking, accreditation, and faculty expertise. In my college there are 3 campus .A old campus hold historical aspects and a new building there . I Looked for experienced professors, modern facilities, and adequate support .Evaluate tuition, scholarships, and financial assistance option.

- Students behaviour is too good . The students are too friendly and good .
- Student union is too helpful . There is no issue about bad behaviour.

- The fees are too much . But the things we get is not so good

The college need high qualities result to get in any course. But the Sc, ST and OBC Gets good offer. If you have to join the Collage, you need to apply by new West Bengal admission portal of Collage. The reservation reservation seats helps theSC , ST and OBC candidate. The examination time with of the course Is not so good.

- Zoology department is really better than some other colleges under Calcutta University.
- Faculties are good and strict. They help to learn. Library facility is good.

- The college administration is strict in everything.
- Attendance percentage rules are very much strict.
Admission:
I applied online on the basis of Highersecondary marks. Admission process was smooth. It mainly includes payment of admission fees ( near about Rs. 6000/-) and document verification. No such students union politics was there.

- Science Teachers nd the lab facilities were good to have us a good chance to study and practice the practical properly
- Most of the teacher and lag assistant were very helpful ful
Dislikes
- The toilets were not cleaned properly and unhygienic
- Drinking water arrangements very poor. Hardly used get cleaned even once in a year

Eligibility was the science percentage of 10th and 12th exam which should match the criteria of the candidates. Reservation were not there, but financial benefits were their for sc, st and OBC compared to general cast. Admission should be online to stop any kind of outside influence in the financial things of the college

Have to fill admission form online. You don't have to pay any money. There are only few seats available for the course. There are some required percentage and marks. Also some benefits for SC, St, OBC.

- The full commitment of the teaching staff and professional behaviour with supporting guidance is the main pillar for the rich education provided here.
- The scheduling of the classes and the break up of the teaching is really nice.
Dislikes
- The unhygienic washroom should be maintained more often and with proper procedures.
- The fact to care about the mental health of a student should not be neglected

There are no entrance exams. The students need to log on to the college's website and fill the application form with their 10+2 standard marks from any recognised board and the applicants are selected by their merit scores.

- Great infrastructure is provided. Air-conditioned classrooms and well-maintained library.
- Digital boards are available for better understanding.

- The washrooms are not clean. Dustbin are not provided within the washroom for disposal of sanitary pads.
- The placement and internship opportunity are not great.
Admission:
My name came for Maths Hons in the first list and the admission process was smooth. When I went to the college for physical verification one week after the list came out, the teachers were approachable and they explained the details of the course to us and also encouraged us to take electives that would synchronize with our current syllabus and curriculum. For us the admission process was hassle-free. The orientation took place the same day. Only 5 students were admitted to our course and many seats got wasted.

physical admission was done after going the college, There were more students, The admission process was completed till 6pm.Did not give any Entrance exam Actullay it semmed like a very long process to me ,where all the students were standing in line and filling the form. must have marks above 50%, online , if the process was online then it would not have taken so much time.
