Fees and Financial Aid

I have been paying 120000 INR pet year. This includes the tuition fees, caution fees, lad fees and other compulsory fees. 20000 INR is the admission fess on 60000 INR semester fee. My total course of all the 6 semesters is 3,60,000 INR. There is no separate schemes for other category of students. Fees is same for all. No merit scheme. There is a 20000INR off on fees for early birds. Students get a Vivekananda Scholarship. The fees are increasing every year. My juniors who are in 2nd year now they pay 75000 INR per semester.

Placement Experience

Adama University does provide a lot of effort to place students and provide them with better opportunities. The higest placement has been 1 crore LPA . The average being 10 LPA. My degree is purely academic based , so I'll be doinf Masters in Psychology but still the college has provided me with School councilor and HR jobs.

Faculty

The faculty members encourage all students to reach their highest potential and are always willing to provide any help necessary. At times, some faculty members have displayed improper behaviour, but once these issues were communicated with the student council, actions were taken and issues resolved. Th faculty to student ratio for my department is around 1:30. Faculty student relationships are friendly. There are 3 internal assessments, including the mid-semester examination, which together make up 26 marks, while the end semester examination makes up 30 marks. Marks are also allotted for attendance.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Christ for its curriculum because they were one of the few colleges that offered science related subjects under this degree (Bachelors of Science (Hons) Psychology). These subjects include Psychology, Bio-chemistry, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence. Many ability enhancing, skill enhancing, multidisciplinary, and value added courses are offered as well. The curriculum could improve in terms of structure and taking into account suggestions.

We have fests in February every year. The college i am in is a fairly new establishment so the festivities are small scale yet really unique. There are many clubs you can be a part of which require you to go to other campuses and colleges

Faculty

There is enough faculty for tue students but the teachers are very young so they lack experience and practicality. There are four types of tests. Mcqs mid terms preparation exam and end sems. You can even write repetition exams

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are very good in my opinion for the engineering departments and BBA as well as hotel management departments. For psychology we are yet to experience placements because my batch is the second batch of the university for this course. The placements, I have heard are great, that is one of the main reasons for people to opt this university over others.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay around 1.75L per year. The senior batch pay around 1.5L. the scholarships are some of the best you'll find in the country. Top 10% of the batch gets a CNR award where 50% of your fees is returned and then there's MRD scholarship where 40% of your fees is returned, there's also the DAC awards of 2k for students above a certain CGPA and SGPA.

Many spectacular events occur in a year. To list out, novatos (fresher's day), darpan (two weeks long fest showcasing all art forms and talents, anyone can participate and winners will get cash prizes), kaleido (flagship event of psychology), Magnificat ( Huge choir event), Magnovite (Huge event inviting all colleges to participate for technical competitions and art forms), Blossoms (Two weeks fest like darpan but winners get to go to central campus and perform and win cash prizes), Sound curry (Singing event), Nritta (dance event). We have a great library with a lot of books, journals and subscriptions. References for all subjects and fiction are available.Classrooms and labs are well equipped. Many lab devices are available. Sports and extracurriculars are extremely appreciated. Events occur all along the year. Clubs are there for literally every skill and art form. Some sports events are Tiger 5 and Devdan Cup. A huge number of student led groups and clubs are there.

Course Curriculum Overview

Special aspects of the curriculum that influenced me to choose the course is the availability of honours degree, encouragement of research, exposure to conferences and seminars, exposure to diverse cultures etc. Exams and assesments are well organised. There are four assessments that will contribute to one's gpa in a semester. The difficulty level is moderate to high. Recieving high marks is hard. You will have to work on projects and exams. Sometimes it gets very hectic and stressful but it trains us for real world competition and expertise.

Course Curriculum Overview

Christ University's focus on the scientific aspects of Psychology was what encouraged me to join the course. The curriculum gives you as much real world exposure as possible through field visits and such. The only thing I'd change about the curriculum is the difficulty of exams. More often than not, they are at completely different level than our syllabus. Since we have exams only twice a semester it works out perfectly.

Faculty

There are quite a lot of students in each batch due to the large number of applicants. The faculty to student ratio is about 10:80. This makes it a little difficult for us to interact with the faculty members. Most of them have their PhD and are highly qualitfied and knowledgable as well.

The subject itself is interesting and the course plan provided was a good area of interest for me. They make us attend internships as part of the syllabus to get hands on experience and practical knowledge. The teaching methods are good but the time provided is less rushing the syllabus happens. but very good. there are exams every month to have a touch and recollection of syllabus

There are many activities and clubs in our college but I haven't heard much of sports activities other than cricket, football and basketball. The Library in our college has many collections of books, we can find many of the books related to our course there so we do not need to buy it from outside atleast for my course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structures are affordable for everyone and they also provide with scholarship but i do not have much idea about the scholarship as i haven't applied for it. My course fee is 23150 per semester it's much more affordable compared to other private universities.

The only thing that influenced me to choose psychology was the period of lockdown. My whole family was affected by coronavirus. I had no one standing by my side. That was the time when I came to realise that how much it's important to give priority to mental health. Also collegedunia itself helped me a lot in choosing my college ,i.e., Bethune college by giving me all the informations about it. Iin this aspect, I have to say the university is as enriched as the students will to engage and participate in the frequently organised events. The clubs indulge in a variety of activities that enhances student interaction and their social life. These also boost their passion and creativity. Adinova, is the most awaited annual fest of the university. It is enriched with performances by the students and for the students. In terms of technology, the smart boards work efficiently to help students enhance their ppt skills and other advanced ways of learning.

The university has well curated courses and engagement in extra curricular activities all year round. Here, students also get the opportunity to gain international exposure. It's course curriculum, essentially trains students to deal with real world problems, make decisions rationally and achieve goals efficiently. As fas as the department of psychology is concerned, it is equipped with helpful and skilled professors who guide students whenever need arises.

Ques. Is NIMS University good for a B.Sc in Psychology?

● Top Answer By Sarita Varshney, on 01 Nov 21

Ans. No, it is not a good university for B.Sc. in Psychology. For this course, you should apply to a central or state university which will be better than a private university.  The university is very expensive, you will know this after you get admission because there are many recurring charges which are later revealed.  Go for a government university in Jaipur or in your area where you will get proper exposure which is important for your growth and future prospects. They will also have good faculties and your education cost will be minimal.Read more

Ques. How is the B.Sc. psychology department of Bethune College? Can I get admission if my rank is 40 and there are 13 seats?

● Top Answer By Reeti Chakraborty, on 18 Nov 21

Ans. Yes, you can get admission in B.Sc Psychology at Bethune College as a number of students leave their seats for better colleges. You can then try to get a seat during the second, third or fourth cut-off list. Bethune College has highly qualified faculty members but the classes are not conducted regularly. Sometimes they even fail to complete the syllabus. But if we ignore these flaws, they are quite brilliant as educators. If you're joining this college, make sure you can study by yourself because you will not get constant attention from teachers. Bethune College will provide you with a better experience. In Bethune, you will develop both academically and holistically. Overall it is a great institution to be a part of.Read more

Ques. Which college or university is better for a bachelor's in psychology: DU or MSU Baroda?

● Top Answer By Jayant Thakur on 31 Dec 22

Ans. What truly distinguishes universities such as DU, JNU, and BHU is their brand value and large alumni base. It's as if they've created a brand, particularly for social science courses. A degree from it is valuable in and of itself. Second, while faculty may be similar in some ways, exposure at DU is unparalleled. You will learn a lot. MSU Baroda is a great university with a vibrant past and a strong alumni base, but in the current scenario, good colleges of DU stand out. But, yes, you must work hard and take the initiative to learn and gain knowledge wherever you study because, in the end, it is the knowledge you acquire that counts.Read more

● Top Answer By Varun Pandey on 24 Jan 24

Ans. St. Xavier’s College Mumbai does not offer a BSc. in Psychology. Instead, it offers a BA in this discipline. For general category students, the cutoffs are quite high, around 97%.  Xavier’s offers a really good foundation in Psychology. The teachers over there expect students to be perfect in answer writing as well as practical work. The college forces its students to participate in extracurriculars and social welfare work so that their overall personality improves. You should consider joining the BA Psychology program at St. Xavier’s. However, keep in mind that the seats are very limited, and the competition is very high. To get in, you either need good scores, or you must have presented papers in their seminar or been in the editorial team of their magazine.Read more
