As a govt college the course fee for bba hons was very low here. Other colleges charges about 60-80k per year. But this college charges around 40-50k, which makes it more affordable to acheive the degree in your desired course.

Besides getting selection in St Xavier's college and MUC college in Burdwan. I also got selected for Lady Braboune, South Calcutta girls college and many other. I didn't opt for any of there because maximum of my criteria were fulfilled in Asutosh Mookherjee college. I didn't make it to Xavier's College Kolkata due to some financial problem and in Jadavpur University, I couldn't clear the admission test. The admission procedure in our college is merit based (based on class 12th or equivalent examination). The merit marks is calculated with 50% of your best of 5 subjects aggregate and 50% of your hons marks.

I got good marks in ISC and i wanted to pursue English in a good government college. I got selected in other colleges but i preferred this one because of their NAAC grading which is A. They selected students according to marks and the lists are out in that order.

This college was not my first choice for admission, I took admission in this college because I couldn't make it to other colleges, however the other college under this university is no different, our faculty is good however there is unnecessary college politics which is not student friendly and discourages the student to go to the college. There is no eligibility exams for taking admission in the colleges under Calcutta University for their UG programme it is done on the basis of marks and percentage of the students in 12th level
