Our DSE options were great. Literary Theory was provided to us at BA level which was very beneficial for preparing for CUET. Partition literature, 19th C European realism were some of the others. We had to submit one assignment (20marks) per semester and sit for a 3hour long semester examination (80marks). for the first four months, you're given the liberty to distribute your workload and will not be tested. However if you pile up everything then, the final month before sem exams will be traumatic, but that is what most of us did anyway.

The faculty members, at least the ones that had been teaching for a long while were and are amazing and they have been very understanding with valid reasons for setbacks/delays in assignments or tests as well. As for term exams, there has been a belief circling about the unfair checking of papers wherein colleges which are ranked higher undergo stricter checking while colleges which are ranked lower undergo more lenient checking. I hope there is a committee that can look into this issue and ensure fair checking for all irrespective of college ranking or course
I don't possess much knowledge about Placements. We do have a placement cell though. It offers internships from time to time. Career prospects after BA English Honours- One can become a journalist, academic person, novelist, or content writer for a company.
The placements rate is not really high. But there are few companies that usually come to recruit you. You will be eligible only if you have scored atleast 60-65%. The highest placement is around 4.5 to 6 LPA and the average package is around 2.5 LPA. You can also go for off campus drives in case you have bigger plans and you don't want to settle for ordinary.
After completing the bachelor's degree in MH a lot of students tend to either pursue higher degrees such as MA etc. or go for civil services. The college provides an ample amount of study material and guidance if you wish to go for UPSC. However, we also have a Placement Cell with it's exciting internships to make your CV shine through and stand out. Students from courses like B.A. Economics Hons. do tend to take up salary package of up to 45 lakhs. Companies like The Times of India, Axiom, Aggrawal Associations, etc. have offered jobs to plenty of MH students. There is complete help in terms of resume making and discussing further career prospects. Top recruiting companies like ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, and like the one I have mentioned above visit the college every year.
I am not sure how many students are getting selected for placements. But we have an organization in the college namely The Miranda House Placement Cell, they are responsible in informing students on current jobs or internships available.
