Faculty

Overall the faculty in the college is good. I am ftom Sociology and philosophy department, and i like sociology department faculty a little more than philosophy. All because teachers at sociology are more understanding and cooperative. However, some teachers at philosophy faculty are also very nice and cooperative with students excluding some teachers who are not. Teachers are approachable if any student is having difficulty regarding any subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for bachelors of Arts that I am pursuing in the first year was 12903 rupees, excluding the exam fees that we have to pay while filling the exam form and selecting our subjects for exam. The fee structure is moreover the same, no major changes were there in the fee structure. The examination form fee would be around 1110 rupees that you have to pay every semester.

Faculty

Faculty of our college is well qulaified and educated, all of them are very helpful when it comes to profession and personal deal as well. Each course has enough faculty member and all are easy to approach. Some faculty members that i like is statustics , economics and geography. Some members are there who are rude and non welcoming but that's okay . Exams take place in two forms internals and externals both are easy to pass you just have to have basic knowledge about your paper. Ratio of failing students is very less because exams are very easy to pass. Course curriculum is pretty relevant as it includes 3 core subjects and other subjects as language, EVS, value addition course and skill enhancement course

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees depend on courses basically, so different courses have different fee structure. For B.A hons Geography, we have to pay around 15000 yearly . While applying for admission, there is an amount of 2000-3000 paid as admission fee and all other fees are included in course fee. There are various scholarship provided for students as PMSSS,state scholarships, principal's scholarship and more for which a student can apply. These scholarships are based on merit thus one has to have a good academic record and cocurricular records as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course was geography honours, geography was my favourite subject since class 10th and I wanted to continue. I got to know a lot of about geography like GIS, remote sensing, human and environmental geography etc. which means geography is not only related to the earth's physical features but a study of earth man's relationship

Campus Life

My campus life was not really good , because of lockdown, I completed 3 semestes through online mode, it was not easy as I didn't get enough knowledge about my papers , and after lockdown I went for 1 and a half year to college, I don't think it was a great experience but in the last I got my degree

Course Curriculum Overview

They should have mentioned wider range of options for Discipline specific Subjects and other optional subject ( generic elective). The cartography should be made digital Oceanography should be included . The no. Lectures should be increased. Exams should be made easy as professors told us to write atleast 6-7 pages for each answer.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is needed to be improved as the geography lab was unable to accommodate all 60 students at one time. The sports infrastructure is poor , library need to be updated Canteen is good which is crowded most of the time Reconstruction of theatre of our college just began when i was about to pass out

Course Curriculum Overview

So i opted Geography (h) because it has course like gis and remote sensing and filed work and disaster management and also digital cartography and statistical methods which gives us many opportunities in the tech giant's company of world and also we can be useful for nation to plan a city in all perspective, this course gives us totally further academic persistence. But there are lack of data accuracy in the filed of gus and remote sensing because of free access data from usgs or nrsc but if combine the drine technology into it then it would be a great achievement for the course. Like there is no diffaculty in the courses and exam oattern if you prepare enough for it.

Faculty

So forst i am going to talk about the faculty then student ratio towards the faculty is kind of low i van say but the they handle the situation in that manner that i never feel their quantity is low or something else, they are like fully helpful and they talk in a ver appropriate manner and help us as doon as possible. As a particular name I didn't rember but yhe department of geography has "santosh bhaiya" who is like the best , he gives us all the deatils and help us in any situations. Like any other college our college take a semesters exam like previously that is 7 paper but now in 5th semester it is 6 so ya, we have semester exams.

Faculty

If we consider the course structure it is very student friendly, like every paper have 4 modules irrespective of departments. And the structure for UG courses are, overall they have 14 core paper, 4 DSE paper, 2 AECC paper and 2 SECC paper. Exam system is like 6 end semester exams as well as 6 mid term exam and also practical subjects have practical exams. And the marking scheme is like if you wrote well you'll get the marks, most of the departments prefer answers in paragraph.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee of ravenshaw University is very nominal like during the admission of a particular year we need to pay 620 for girls and for boys 670 in 2nd and 3rd year but during first year admission they take something 2200. And every semester fees is 250 so yearly that is 500. And those who opted for hostel they yearly need to pay 8000 excluding food, the food charges varies from hostel to hostel. Mostly it's like 35 per meal which means 70 in a day.

Faculty

Though our faculty is not that big but we have efficient staffs. The ratio is nearly 1:5 for both students and staffs. I can say that Geography dept is one the best department with very approachable staffs and good teachers. To be honest I didn't like the commerce faculty due to their low maintenance and over populated department.Lakhs of students study here and the exams are quite difficult , the copies are checked very prominently without any problem.

Fees and Financial Aid

The most affordable government college and also one of the oldest education institutions of India. The fees for the government couse is low compared to other colleges. Nearly the overall fees is under 10,000 rupees. The infrastructure is well developed and maintained. I have very friendly batchmates and the faculty is quite great too

College life at Miranda is quite hectic like you just have completed your school and you packed in such a hectic schedule so it may be challenging because we have classy from 8:30am to 5:00 pm so it becomes a little bit hard but as you spend the months you become habitual of it and you can get break between classes even when you have long lectures and if you ask your professor to have a break of 10 min they will give so it is manageable but in starting it is difficult The society cultural of Miranda is also good like we have many societies including Indian and western dance, singing , music , drama and society related to environment entrepreneurship filmmaking photography and happiness club and many more My experience of societies is very good you will meet new people and get new perspectives and enjoy

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of Miranda house for BA (hone) in geography is 17980 and apart from it there is no fees that you have to give but once you get admission and spent around 10-15 days thenyou have to give 300-500 rupees to department for its functions like every department at Miranda organise there events so being a part of it you have to give this amount for the proper functioning of your department and there are a lots of pan College events where you have to pay to participate and to get certificate of that particular event it is completely depend on students if they want they can otherwise there no need in pan College events

The faculty members are sufficient for the 101 students in our department. I particularly liked our HOD D.Nongrum sir, for his approachable demeanor and innovative teaching methods. All the teachers were supportive and always willing to assist whenever approached. I pursued a BA hons in Geography, a 3 years course with 6 semesters including practical studies and exams. The curriculum covered all the necessary topics for a BA degree. The exams are challenging but manageable with proper preparation.

Campus Life

College provides a diverse culture, exposure and environment which helps us to evolve.College do provide all the basic facilities,it has library,Gym, multipurpose hall, seminar rooms,Boys&Girls common room and so on. The college organise it's annual festival known as Renaissance. Various societies whether it be cultural or literary or departmental they all organise their annual fest6and throughout the session conducts vibrant events, seminars and workshops. The Geography department always conduct workshops and extra curricular activities to engage the students throughout the year. As mentioned earlier sports activities are always given importance in college and Football is the most popular one in our college. Prayas - student led enabling unit helps all the students, especially the PwD and always ensure to create a better environment which fosters productivity and resilience among students.

Faculty

There are 15 faculty member in Geography department and our class strength is 80 and their teaching method are outstanding in a sense that they use different styles of teaching and always support us. Department of Mathematics is quite terrible in a sense they have no spare time for other activities. We have semester wise examination which includes grade system. Almost every student pass their exams but some of them get ER(Essential Repeat). The course curriculum is quite good as we have three core paper of which one of them is practical based. and we have 4 other common courses.

For the course I opted my fees is around 27 thousand rupees annually. This is the total annual fees for BA geography and it includes all the fees like registration, lab etc..fees can go higher or lower depending on the course . Science based courses have a higher fee structure meanwhile subjects like English have the lowest . Scholarships are given by the state government and not by the college.. scholarship can be around 30 thousand rupees

Faculty

Aligarh Muslim University's campus is one of the most beautiful campus in India, it is spread over acres, it's one of the four national universities and The Department Of English, Faculty of Arts comes under the most respected once, the professors are amazing working under them feels like working under an epitome of knowledge. The papers written by professors here are published in universities like Princeton and Harvard. Getting taught by such great people makes it more fun. Apart from , Faculty of Arts , the faculty of law here is amazing , providing internships in Supéreme Court and making you work under great lawyers. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester, they're of 80 marks . The marking is very hard and people rarely touch 8.5 gpa. The 30 marks are given to sessionals or internals taken by the professor incharge.

Campus Life

Campus life is amazing as I said before that it is one of the most beautiful campus in India, spreading over acres and acres. There are various clubs , infact for every field of interest there is a club . There is University Debating and Literature Club for people who love geopolitics and literature. There is Club for Short Evening Courses, for people interested in web development and commercial activities. There is a Hindustani Music Club for traditional musicians and Western music Club for pop music lovers. Then there is Hobbies Club where you just do whatever you love to. There is Fine arts club for artists and an eco club for environmentalists. It also looks after the greenery of the campus. There is also University Drama Club, which performs stage plays , it contributes greatly to the culture here.
