What is the admission process to get into the Extra Curricular Category at HGC?

Selection of a candidate in the EC category is based on the level (International, National and State) of the certificate furnished by an applicant. The candidate seeking admission against the seats reserved for the Extra-curricular category must submit one certificate showing the highest level of proficiency acquired in the last 3 years. In certain instances, the applicant may be required to give a demo of her skills in the chosen category to the members of the screening committee constituted for the purpose. For sports, the events recognised by the Indian Olympic Association and the Sports Authority of India will be considered. The process of selection takes place before the regular admissions begin. Appearance of the candidates before the selection committee on the notified date is mandatory. The committee will finalise the list of selected applicants.

What is the procedure for getting admissions into Hostels at HGC?

Admission to the hostel is granted only after the college admission is finalised. The Hostel admission procedure is as follows:The college allots hostel accommodation only to the BA/BSc/BCA students.No Hostel seats are provided to the first as well as the second year HS students (both Artsand Science).BA/BSc first-semester students who want to apply for hostel accommodation should fill in the column given in the college admission form during the time of admission.The number of hostel seats is limited, and admission is given strictly based onacademic merit.Only outstation students are eligible for admission.Admission is finalised after an interview with the candidate, parents and local guardian who are interviewed by the hostel warden along with the members of the hostel committee.The following documents should be attached with the completed format at the time ofsubmission:1. College fee receipt2. Relevant documents of reserved categories3. One passport-size photograph4. Incomplete forms are rejected

What are the Extension Activities for students at HGC?

To inculcate a sense of responsibility towards the society from which we draw sustenance, Handique Girls College has made it mandatory on the part of its Degree students (in both Arts and Science) to devote some time to community service before they earn the Degree from this College. The community service is introduced as Extension Work and is a part of the co-curricular activities in the College. In this regard, the undergraduate students are oriented towards Community Service, which will include interaction with Resource Persons who will sensitise the students about their commitment to society. Field visits with group activities directed at specific issues like environmental awareness, conservation of water resources, women and child nutrition, womens rights, etc., are conducted regularly. In order to facilitate these activities, Handique Girls College has also adopted villages and engaged students in various activities. Recently, the college has adopted a village in South Kamrup named Bor Amodpur.

Admission:

I applied for many colleges apart from this one but I couldn't get into the other colleges I got a chance in handique girls' college therefore I chose it. The colleges I applied for has very good campus than handique girls college and more reputation. I couldn't make it to other colleges because of my marks my marks were lesser than required for the other colleges. The admission process of my college is that you have to apply in samarth portal then on a specific date the selected candidates name list will be provided. Admission are taken according to the marks of class 12th. according to that you can take your admission or there are other chances also called as spot admission you go to the college and the college authorities will take admission according to marks. Cutoffs are generally around 80%

All you have to know about Handique Girls' college

I applied to cotton University and also DU.. I didn get in cotton ...but i got in DU with sociology..since i wanted to go for psychology, I didnt go to DU. I didn't make it to Cotton because of cut off marks. Getting into psychology is really tough especially in this generation where people are more aware about mental health. The cut off was really high 96 % in cotton and Idk about DU it varies from clg to clg. The admission process in Handique girls' college is okayish. Runs smoothly. You just need to have necessary documents and also can ask the staff for any queries or doubts. For Handique the cut off is average. If you score above 90% you'll definitely get admission in psychology. Bu then again the cut off varies every year. This year political science cut off was very high in every college. So even with 80% getting into Pol sc in Handique was not possible.

Full of pros and cons

I didn't really for a lot of colleges and universities and chose to apply in 5 universities wherein I got into each one of them. However, not in the subject i always wanted to study. I chose Handique Girls College over DU and COTTON university because of the subjects as i always wanted to study political science and i have to agree that it has to be one of the most important and best decision because I love everything thing about the department

what to expect from your college experience

there isnt the CUET criteria, one can apply with their 12th boards exam marks to get in the college. and also the admission process is smooth and easy here with affordable registration and overall fees.
