Course Curriculum Overview

2

Course curriculum is well balanced and structured providing theoretical knowledge. It's all based on the new education policy 2020. However, I do believe it needs ratification in some aspects. Also, it does prepares us for real world applications and ofcourse it'll help students like us in the long run because of increasing competition. I feel rather than pressurising students teachers must put real life examples into account. Moreover exams must be conducted properly time to time with proper gaps in between

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is a pretty much decent amount it's around 2 thousand each semester including all the practical examination charges and hall fees. There's no as such fees reduction on the basis of castes although yes there are facilities for the ews categories who lack a certain income. Our college has mainly Arts and science so fees vary depending on the course chosen by the student. All the arts students nearly got their admission done under 5,000 whereas on the other hand science students had to pay nearly 6,000. Also, scholarship and financial aid are available for students which is named as Ishaan uday and various others and nearly provides students a sum of Rs.80,000

Campus Life

1

There are not many programs or technical festivals that are conducted although seminars are conducted by different departments. Library facilities in the college is quite good and allows students to study in their free time. however, the library is full of Chaos. As mentioned earlier as well infrastructure is not that great technical provisions are also quite less and not all departments have access to it. Taekwondo classes every 3 days in a week as extra co curricular activity is conducted in the campus itself although fees must be paid for the belt exams and uniform

Admission

I didn't really for a lot of colleges and universities and chose to apply in 5 universities wherein I got into each one of them. However, not in the subject i always wanted to study. I chose Handique Girls College over DU and COTTON university because of the subjects as i always wanted to study political science and i have to agree that it has to be one of the most important and best decision because I love everything thing about the department

Faculty

5

The faculty and students ratio depends completely on the dept and it's seats for eg. Chemistry department of the college is one of the biggest department with nearly 8 professors. Teachers are really very mindful of what they speak and are quite approachable except for some. Best faculty from our dept has to be ARCHANA and RASHMI ma'am they're amazing. Both of them are blunt and straightforward about their view which also gives us a sense of confidence. They literally help us grow so much I'm grateful to have such teachers like them. Exams are conducted time to time like we mainly have 3 exams 2 sessional examinations and one end sem exam.

Night Life

1

There's nothing as night life in the college as classes gets over by 3-4 but yes there are a lot of hangout spots like the famous digholi pukhuri, Nehru park, war memorial etc. Earlier there was a food zone near the college but recently it has been shifted elsewhere and even then it has a lot of places to eat in. No, the area is not that safe as it is one of the busiest areas in guwahati

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a great interest in field of media, I always loved talking and so I choose this exploring field of mass communication and I also applied for the same course in most of the colleges previously. I must write this here that our department really has the most coolest and understanding faculties and the students, my super seniors, immediate seniors, juniors and my batchmates we all share a warm relationship and try to connect and together are a family away from home. We have currently 5 faculties and each of them are expertise in their main subject and I would review the teaching method 4 out of 5. Our Term exams were on time and mostly the theory papers are of 100 marks and practical ones 50 marks. Seriously you don't have to struggle if you are an average student but if you really want to score decent marks you need to study hard for that.
