Karimganj College was established in 1946 and is currently one of the most renowned colleges under Assam University. In 2010, the college earned the CGPA of 2.78 in 4.0 scale by NAAC and was re-accredited with grade ‘B’. Presently, it offers higher secondary as well as undergraduate courses in all the streams viz. Pankaj Kumar Deb Memorial Award: This scholarship is given to the best graduate/most meritorious student of the college.
Shiksha Sahayog Scholarship: This scholarship gives financial assistance to the meritorious and economically backward students of the college.
Student Aid’s Fund: Through this fund, the college helps the financially weak students, depending upon the availability of funds.
Travel Concession: Travelling concession is provided to the students during college excursions (by rail) under the guidance of a teacher. As per the rules and regulations of IAC, air concession is also provided for traveling from the institution to the home town of the students.

Library: Apart from the beautiful college premise, the college has also been enriched with a library, which consists of more than 29 thousand books. The library is currently going through the process of computerization. The reading room remains open for the students on all working days, from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm. The library also has an internet facility.
Cine Club: Established in 2013, the cine-club has been dedicated to bringing entertainment to the students through movies. It has already hosted three International Film Festivals.
Hostel: There are a total of 30 seats for male students and 20 seats for female students, allotted on the basis of merit and distance.
Gymnasium and Yoga Centre: In order to maintain the physical and mental health of the students, the college has established well-equipped gym and yoga centers.

Ques. Is there any fee waiver scheme?

Ans. There is a fee waiver scheme in the college as per DHE. The eligibility criteria for availing of this scheme have been mentioned below:

The total family income of the student must be less than 2 lakh per annum.
Students, whose parents work in the central Govt., State Govt., Semi Govt., or Central or State Govt. undertakings, will not be eligible for the scheme.
Students have to submit the income certificate of parents duly attested by the Local Revenue Circle Officer.
Students under the waiver scheme, however, will have to pay for magazine fees, college week fees, and games and sports fess, at the time of admission.

Ques. Does the college offer any job oriented courses?

Ans. Yes, the college offers two job-oriented programs - a) one-year NIELIT (DOEACC) ‘O’ Level (IT) and b) one-year DOEACC CCBioInfo

Ans. Students need to produce the original certificates, mark sheets, and caste certificates during admission for availing of reservation facilities. Also, those wanting to apply for the fee waiver scheme must carry parental PAN/ADHAAR/ RATION card with them at the time of the interview.

I choose this college because I think Karimganj College is best . Karimganj College study environment is very good . The teachers of this college are very helpful they always help students. I reject other colleges because I love Karimganj College. The addmission process of this college is sometimes offline or sometimes online. The quality of question paper is good.

I liked the environment of our college. Even we have a pond behind our college wich was very clam.
All the cultural event which used to be is our college auditorium was very entertaining and memorable.

Dislikes

Most importantly sports events were not so good
Interior of classrooms was not good at that time

Admission:

There were total 4 to 5 graduation colleges in our district including girls college too. So i have least option to take admission. I took admission to Karimganj College which was near to my home and also a popular college in our district. The admission process at that time was on the basis of merit list based on HS Second year mark.

Things I like about my college are the water facilities,the union member led by abvp,their behaviour,the canteen the light facilities,girls common room facilities and boys common room facilities the wash room the class rooms,the teachers, and others.

Dislikes

The past members of the students union are very chaotic and rude inspite of their retirement but they always try to interfere pleasent students union matters and i think their is a big issue of my college another thing I dislike class time management

My college Teachers are very friendly and well behaved with us . Our college is very neat and clean.

The environment of the girls common room is very bad

Karimganj College is the best college in our town over the other colleges. Student of this college every year get good results. Facilities of the college is also very good like academic result and extra curriculam activities like social services, sport's, ncc are really appreciate.

Likes

I like my class room because it has larger area and the environment is very good. We also have a building which is called the art's building. In the art's building every classess under the arts stream is held . Welcome have a bike stand in front of .

Dislikes

There is no particular things that I dislike about my college.

Admission:

I had not applied to other colleges except my college. I choose this college because this is the best college in my town . Admission process of my college is particularly based on Mark's of hs or percentage of hs which indicates the system of cutoffs. First of all you have to apply for the college and if the college authority select you based on your eligibility then you got to chance in our college.

Admission:

I choose this college because of my situation as i was staying in my antis house near karimganj college and second is that i thought if i choose this college i can help my parents financially. I also Applied in nilambazar college but i refuse to join because it was far away from my present address

Good College With Less Academic Fee!

Likes

The location of the College is also good for transportation for students who stay outsite the town

Dislikes

The infrastructure could have been improved.
Poor campus amenities but it isn't a big problem as there are many shops just outside the gate

Admission:

One need to have at least 60% in 12th do get a major in this course. Application form can be found online with all the required details about the fees and dates. Semester Exams are conducted within a span of six months and internal examinations are also conducted regularly. The admission process has quite improved than before.

The BCA Honours total tuition fee for the 3-year course is approximately INR 38,000 for the full duration. Hostel rooms have separate yearly charges (around INR 8,000–INR 12,000 plus INR 36,000 mess), with a refundable security deposit of about INR 2,000. Contact the college office soon to apply for hostel accommodation and confirm current fees and availability.
