How to Prepare for MSc Botany Entrance Exams?

But, the questions asked are generally not straight questions and a great understanding of Botany needs to be applied to solve them. This demands for practice.

Here are some tips for preparing better for these examinations.

  • Increase your hold on topics like genetics and physiology: Botany is believed to be a very hectic subject where there is both logic and theory. To excel in this subject, you need to be equally good in your understanding of concepts and memorizing capability. And there are some topics like Genetics and physiology where both logic and memory are equally important. And consequently, these topics are the most important topics of the subject. So it is advised to go through these topics very carefully and cover as much as you can.
  • Revise the plant kingdom again and again: There are many topics in botany, especially in subtopics like plant kingdom, morphology, which needs to be revised on a daily basis otherwise there is a chance that you will forget them eventually. So to avoid such types of accidents, it is better to revise those topics again and again.
  • Read the question twice before you start solving: This is one of the most important points which a candidate needs to keep in mind. The questions asked in entrance exams are generally tricky questions so you cannot solve it just by reading it once. You need to read twice or thrice, and think about the concepts which you can apply. Only then you should start solving the question.

How to get admission in a good MSc Botany college?

To get into top MSc colleges a candidate should keep in mind the following points.

  • Every University has a minimum percentage requirement of a minimum of 50% and some universities go even higher upto 60-65%. So, it is important to score good marks in graduation.
  • The entrance exams for this course contain some tricky questions, and some questions are purely memory based as well. All the basic concepts of a candidate must be crystal clear. So before starting to prepare for these entrance exams, go through the entire syllabus and brush all the concepts properly.
  • Solve previous years question paper for at least five years, as you will get a proper idea about the question pattern and the difficulty level of the question paper.

Course Curriculum Overview

Botany being the best natural science subject's helped me learn more about nature which is very much needed to save and improve them which i learned during the course. Many intresting facts made me endure nature more. Science ia growing feild, each day we get new perspective for s specific topic, that has to be improvised in curriculum. Not only studying old authors theorems, its better to include new definitions as well which help us understand how it's relevant now

Faculty

Teacher's are very good, well versed in subject and experienced. Rajanna Sir, Shivram sir made Botany easy and intresting respectively. Even though there's seems to be biased environment based on category but doesn't affect teaching- learning process. Exams are quite predictable if you study previous year papers bit still everything depends on teachers correction and how well we prepare for the exam

Campus Life

Campus life is so awesome besides the infra which is quite old even some of the cracks over the ceiling show up at times???? like a welcome and farewell for us I think it needs some man-work to repair it. After coming to the campus I've bettered up myself now I could socialize myself with all over my classmates and moreover there are clubs that'd help U have a social life all over the campus besides ur classmates. My buddies are too good to me unless some spoiled potatos. So fosios I'd like to tell U to never give up on exploring the wide beautiful campus cuz U won't regret it afterwards. Technically advanced systems are provided for us to elaborate our studies. Don't mind making yourselves enjoy the days. These days would be the best if U could find their true part.

Placement Experience

The best thing of AU is placements offering 100% job guarantee. At the end of the MSc 3rd and 4th semesters various institutions offer academisian roles. Packages vary with 3 to 4L pa for SASI Sri Prakash one the bests . Best institutes like Aakash Byjus visit with high package upto 9Lpa. Faculty

In my college the relationship between students and teachers was so good no doubt in that with any problem in the studies or in personal life the teachers were always available for us. I found the Botany faculty which was my faculty best which has the best teacher in it..apart from our Botany faculty they were just good but we were the best among them.. In the span flof 2 years which has the semester pattern for the first year Sem 1 and Sem 2 and for second year 3rd and 4th. The semester exam were conducted by the university which was 80 mark for theory and 20 for practical in my class there were only 2 - 3 people who got backlog in their subject but they get promoted to the regular sem and clear their backlog paper in the span of 4 month . The paper was not tough and not so easy what we have been thought in this course the question of the exam will be on that only per semester we have 4 subjects with four practical

Campus Life

The overall campus was very good my experience with the college campus was good in our college campus there were so many trees planted so that every day in our college we get the good vibe and freshness with the good quality of air to breath .in our campus we celebrate every function of our great freedom fighters and the festival like holi , diwali , christmas etc the annual function occur every year which has been conducted by the students under the guidance of the teachers. The college library is so big and vast with all kinds of books and magzines with the proper section of proper category of books and having a proper sitting arrangement for the students to read with calmness the sports ground was not so big but it was okay to play the sports.

Ques. How is the MSc in life sciences in NIT Rourkela?

● Top Answer By Sudeeksha Verma on 17 Aug 23

Ans. The Life Sciences Department at NIT Rourkela has improved immensely and is growing at an impressive pace. Here are a few features of the department of Life Sciences at NIT Rourkela- The Life Sciences curriculum is improved and covers all the topics related to modern developments in this field.  The department has a well equipped laboratory to facilitate research work. Research work at the department and at NIT Rourkela as a whole, is really good. The Life Sciences faculty is very supportive and you can ask for their guidance wherever you need it. Students are encouraged to perform research. People have the misconception that basic sciences are not good at NIT R because it is a technical institute. This is not true at all. If you wish to go for research in Life Sciences, NIT Rourkela is a good option. Thus, an MSc. in Life Sciences from NIT Rourkela is a good choice.Read more

Ques. Should I join IISC or JNCASR for integrated MSC-PHD in biology?

● Top Answer By Seenu Arora on 05 Nov 22

Ans. Both are excellent institutions, but the experience will differ between the two. Whereas IISc is much larger and has a more vibrant student community, the smaller batches in JNCASR allow for more attention and a better chance of getting into at least one of their preferred labs. IISC is smack dab in the middle of a commercial area (well, actually, the commercial areas grew around IISc, but let's not get into that). JNCASR is less centrally located and more of a sleepy campus. It's a completely different story after the second year when the pressure is intense and lab work can be extremely demanding.  There are no holidays for students (not even Sundays or national holidays like the 15th of August or the 26th of January, but there is a flag hoisting event so you get off work for at least an hour) and most P.I.s do not allow paid leave of more than two weeks per year. This is not to say that there isn't any fun on campus. Most of the rules governing on-campus life are lax, and the guards and staff are laid-back and don't make a fuss when asked to overlook a few things.Read more

Ques. Which is better, metallurgy at NIT Warangal or an MSc in Biology at BITS Goa?

● Top Answer By Kalyan Shastri on 16 Aug 23

Ans. Both Metallurgy at NIT Warangal and MSc in Biology at BITS Goa are great programs offering a plethora of opportunities and exposure to its students. But the choice between the two is a very personal matter as both the branches are very diverse in the opportunities they offer. So Go for NIT Warangal if you are interested in Metallurgy Go for BITS Goa if you are ready to Study Biology along with BE Degree. However, you need to bear in mind the fact that BITS Goa is expensive and the fees is very high around 25 lakhs while NIT Warangal's total fees are less than 10 Lakhs.Read more
