Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm studying MSc.Botany here. The syllabus include almost all topics in the vast subject like Botany. Also the practical syllabus allows us to learn evey concept practically with hands on experience.By the successful completion of this two years course you will be able to gain great knowledge in depth of the subject. Allmost 60 percent of the syllabus of course is helpful to prepare for the National lever competitive exams like CSIR NET, ICMR NET and other exams.

Placement Experience

3

In my college, there is separate building specially to provide campus placement to the students. They bring various recruiting parties including educational institutions, software companies, pharma companies and other Chemical industries.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got a regular seat hear.I opted for the Vidhya dheevena scheme so state government will pay my fee. My actual feel per year as regular seat is 24000 INR. For self support seat, the fee is 49500 and for self finance seat the fee structure is 42500 per year. Also I'm residing in a college hostel here. I'm paying 3500 to 4000 rupees per month including food and hostel bill.

Campus Life

5

Every student in Andhra University feels great campus experience in terms of it's unique ambience and infrastructure. University conducts occasional cultural events. There is an years old open auditorium where cultural events are conducted. Also there is a very large AU CONVENTION HALL, adjacent to beach road. Moreover the campus is located in the great Visakhapatnam City which is otherwise called as City of destination.

Hostel Facilities

3

I'm residing in Sri Krishna devaraya boys hostel. Here they provide one room to share by two students. Rooms are indeed compact and there will be only one bed in each room. They provide a reading table and two chairs for every room. There is special reading room also available in our hostel with regular news paper facility. Wash room are well maintained and good water facility is there. But the mess food is not good.we must compromise with the food they serve every day. Moreover They collect comparatively high amount of nearly 3500 to 4000 rupees per month than other universities in the State.

Admission

Andhra University is the most popular and old universe in Andhra Pradesh state. Most of my teachers from my school to my graduation are students of this universe. So I was greatly inspired to join here. That made me to prefer this college to study my post graduation . One can join here with good rank in APPGSET conducted by APPSC of Andhra Pradesh state government.

Faculty

4

Faculty here are very knowledgeable and experienced. I must really admire their student friendly behaviour. They also give career guidence to students beside teaching .But some professors in some departments here send their research scholars to teach their classes that is not at all good.

Night Life

4

Being a hostel student, every day I witness the real beauty of night life in college There is a big central library along with a reading room which allows the students to study late night up to 10pm. Junior Boys hostels like Ashoka vardhana, Vinaya vihara, Harsha vardhana and senior boys hostel like Sathavahana and SRI krishna devaraya are located inside the campus while ladies hostels are located at Maharani peta out side the campus. Also the popular RK beach is very near to the campus which is an awesome place to spend with friends.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is so updated and they focus more on application. They also provide us with the knowledge of emerging fields and opportunities. But i feel like the curriculum should be less hectic for the students. The exams are veru frequent here because there will be 3 internal assessments before the main exams and they are so hectic.

My course here in sri Venkateswara university is master of science in statistics. This subject seems to be very interesting and I am very happy with the knowledge that I can get to know from my faculty. Coming to exams and conducting exams they give much time from sem to sem. As it is a semester system we have a lot of time to study. We will be having two internal exams and an external exam. Internal exam is for 20 marks and external exam is for 80 marks on a total of 100 marks.
