Tumkur University Admission Guidelines

Selection Criteria:

Under-Graduate Courses: For admission in these courses, the candidate must have 50% marks in the required subject in 12th class. Selection would be done on basis of the merit list.The candidates shortlisted based on their marks in 12th class are called to the university for the document verification process.
Post-Graduate Courses: The candidate seeking admission in post-Graduation must have a degree with 50% marks in Graduation in the relevant subject.The candidate has to appear for a written test conducted by the university for taking admission in postgraduate courses. PGCET Entrance Exam is conducted for MBA and MCA Courses. Exam is conducted for other Courses by the University itself. Shortlisted candidates are called for the next round which is the personal interview. The admission is done based on the overall performance of the Candidate.
Doctorate Courses: The Admissions in the Doctoral Degree are done based on Written Test and Personal Interview conducted by the University.The candidates seeking a doctorate from the University must have an PG Degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject.The University also accepts GATE/JRF/SLET score for Ph.D. admissions.

Availability of Application form: Application form for UG Courses will be obtained through post by sending an envelope to Registrar of University.Application form for PG Courses except MBA & MCA will also be obtained through post by sending an envelope to Registrar of University. Application form for MBA & MCA will be available on the Official Website of University.
Where to send Application form:Filled Application form for UG Courses along with Required Documents and Application fees should be sent to UG Department at Tumkur University. For PG Courses except MBA and MCA, Form should be sent to Chairperson of Concerned PG Department at Tumkur University. For MBA, MCA, Application form should be sent to Nodal Officer-Consortium for PGCET 2020, Rani Channamma University Vidya Sangam, PBNH – 4, Belagavi – 591156.
Application fee: Application fee of INR 250 (INR 125 for SC/ST) for UG Courses, INR 800(INR 400 for SC/ST) for MBA/MCA, INR 350 for PG Courses except MBA/MCA should be sent to Finance Officer of Tumkur University.

Network Operation Centre:It provides with network operation centres.University campus has 420 LAN points and 10 Wi-Fi devices. University’s existing network is decentralized and uses various routers and firewalls.
Remote Sensing Centre:The university is also looking forward to establishing a remote sensing centre on the campus in collaboration with ISRO.University has collaborated with Indian Space Research Organization to establish a remote sensing centre on the campus. With the launch of GIS and remote sensing, centre university has joined the elite league of institutions with the boast of facilities.
Automated Weather Station: It is the latest of its kind in the state. It was established in 2010 as an initiative of ISRO. It is an agricultural friendly venture in addition to addressing the research and education needs.
Publications:Lokajnana - It is a quarterly journal containing research papers in original and translated languages. International Journal of Science Research - IJSR is an international journal published quarterly reporting on a publication of research papers. International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities - It is a bi-annual journal published by the university. In our collage maintenance and facilities were too good.
Faculties have been the most supportive one and they have always appreciated and supported and encouraged to everything in our collage

Dislikes

They should take some note about the campus selection I mean like they do campus interviews by conducting interviews but later we never got on boarding letter this is the main this they have to look after.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The reason I choose this course was actually unexpected but personally I felt it doesn't matter what course you choose in our collage but the faculty supports in all the fields in our collage. And when is comes to the questions how they get us prepared for the exams I would like to say in an excellent way by conducting internal assessments and then they will even support if we go and ask them personally if we don't understand in class without saying anything! So overall the way they used to get us prepared were good.! Honestly when it comes to improvement about teaching or supporting I don't think they need to improve anything because until I finished my 3 years course in bcom I didn't feel like they need to imporve in any faculty teaching.But some time I felt some lecturers didn't give their best in teaching.

Yearly fees structure of the course and scholarship

The fees structure in our collage for one sem was 21000 and per year it would cost 42000 and for 3 years to complete my graduation in bcom in Vidyavahini First Grade Degree collage which comes under Tumkur university I paid 126000 and even we had SSP scholarship available

Various events, sports and library of the college

So in our collage we used to celebrate all the religion Indian festivals by getting provided different kind of dress codes for each festivals and the main even we used to celebrate names Vivan Vaibhav which we used to celebrate for almost more than 7 days and last 2 days they were conduction main even and last day we were having DJ night and any famous singer or celebrity would come to our collage to celebrate that festival.! And when it comes to availability in library honestly it's not that great they were just having a few lil bit options of books available related to the course and even the library is not that big library so there is not that much to say about library. When it comes to classroom technologies we had a projected provided to respresent any kind of presentation and even lecturers used to teach us using that projector other than that we were provided with very hygienic classroom with celing fans. And when it comes to sports it was excellent and they have always supported to any sport if we wanted to participate by giving all the support and facilities related to that sport and they even encourage to participate in so many cluster and state level competitions and they were providing cash prize for that also.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

Faculty to student ratio have been good and even the relationship between student and faculty have always been good and best honestly I have never blames the faculty because not only me even so many other students have likes the way faculties approach students so this is the relationship of faculties that me and my some of my friends experienced with lecturers. The lecturer I liked the most personally are shibin sir and Vijay sir and yeah even our HOD Urmila mam was very supportive and physical educational sir Vinay Sir have been the best supportive one. The lecturer I personally disliked was Chandhana mam I mean honestly yeh she was supportive but at my internship time I was under her team and she didn't support that much to complete my internship project other Than her I don't personally feel any lecturer as a negative or unsupportive. In our collage per sem they were conducting 2 internals in which they were dividing according to the syllabus they finish within the internals time and they weren't making it that difficult nor that easy and it was like a good practice for us and because of that it was getting easy for exams and because of this internals almost every students have passed and cleared their exams!

What is the admission process of the college?

To get admitted to Bcom I didn't applied to any other collages or I didn't write any exam and the process to get admitted in our collage is simple but we should get admitted early as if we make it late to get admitted then the availability of seats will be less and it will be problem but before that if we want to get admitted on time then the process is like first we have to fill the collage application and then we have to submit the documents and then last step we have to pay the fees and we will be having two options to pay the fees that is 2 instalment method and one shot payment so this is the process to get admitted in our collage for any course.

Likes

They provided opportunities for sports. Many students were also taken to district level. Nss, NCC and other cultural was celebrated grandly.

Admission:

No i didn't apply for any other college. In tumkur city I felt this college best as in other colleges there was sufficient lab equipments I heard about the microscope condition and other chemicals shortage from my seniors. Admission is through KCET ranking and also students can occupy management seats.

This the 1st college I applied to, this college is too near to bus and railway transportation,it is have sports oppertunity,ncc, nss, redcross, old students committe, very good teaching and non teaching staff,naac give A+ result to this college,so me,my parents and my husband decided to choose this college, in our college admission process is to easy 1st we enter the administration block and ask for the admission form fill it and give back to them after few minutes they call student and parents name,then we go for principal room in that room some faculty and principle introduce them self and about the college,fecilities and they want to know about us, after that you go for fee payment block anf you pay the the feee amount and they give bill to you

We girls are majority in our college boys are low in count.

I chose this college because the fee is low and near to me.where I am from poor family. I applied to Bsc agriculture in Bangalore college and I didn't confirmed by college I choose this college because I was financially weak. Yes I rejected form bsc agriculture in Bangalore because my rank is cet exam is low And financial problems. My college admission process is manual.where who passed the second pu can join the college easily there is no exam to Join the course

I most like the positive atmosphere in campus and positivevity and I like the teachers they were very jacal and they treat great and they helps us to learn a new things and that motivates the students to participate in other activities in college and
In our college we having a great class rooms

I like the atmosphere of the college and the one of friends they are suggesting the college and I quit good and the faculty was super active to guide the students to motivate something and achieve anything by there support

Yes, Tumkur University offers the PhD courses. Tumkur University Ph.D. Admission is done through an entrance test followed by a personal interview. As per eligibility for doctoral courses, candidates should have a Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks. The university also accepts the GATE / JRF / SLET score for Ph.D. admission. A candidate with M.Phil. degree from Tumkur University is also eligible for the Ph.D. program.
