Faculty:

I dont't really have an idea about the faculty-to-student ratio....however the faculty is extremely nice with the students, you can easily approach them provided you present decent manners, they have broken hindi so try a little bit to, you know, be able to understand the Bengali language or speak in English if you have trouble with Bengali. There is mid-sem and end-sem, the end-sem exams are a difficult compared to mid-sem exams. The teachers provide a question bank 1-2 weeks prior your exams, mostly questions come from there, in between you 3 class tests of 15 marks each. Students do clear their exams, very few people get back(fail) in their exams.

Faculty to student ratio is like 1 to 70. Majority of the faculty being very friendly but some of them very rude and cruel ..being abusive on the students. as a first year liked faculties like Arpita Majumder and Ranjan Dutta for their immense support and upliftment nature. Just hated faculties like debyaduti and Indranil dey assistant prof. In the electrical department is very abusive and very biased towards the girls. Exams are 3 internal exams and end sem exams.. moderate .. very few fail to clear the exam. Course curriculum is not relevant in the first year

The faculty members at HIT are generally knowledgeable and supportive. Most of them holds good academic degree like PhDs. Some of them focuses more on practical knowledge than theory knowledge. My course structure is well-organised and follows the guidelines of MAKAUT(Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology). Marking scheme is fair and MAKAUT is quite strict about evaluation.

Approx in maximum branches there are three batches and Each batch is provided two mentors to control and circulate information among students. Batch size is 70 which is not very good about my perspective. Faculties are very friendly. They are always ready to help studends. If you consult with faculty they will help you in research also.exams pattern are moderate upto 8-10 students only have backlog.

Faculty to student ratio was 120:1 approximately. Most Faculty were approachable. However, few female lecturers were extremely rude and abusive. In our department, I liked our Head of the Department, Sk. Shahnawaz Sir as he had dedication and determination visible while teaching and interacting with us. Other than Sk. Shahnawaz, I liked Bipasha Mitra Mam who taught us Graphics Designing. I did not like Mrs Arpita and Banani Ghosh due to their unfriendly or abusive behavior towards students. There were one internal exam for each of the 6 semesters and We had around 5 to 6 subjects each semester.

Haldia Institute of Technology: 1 Answered Question

How is the CSE department at Haldia Institute of Technology? What about its faculty and placement in recent times?

Himani RoyB.Tech (IT) from Haldia Institute of Technology (2019)

Haldia Institute of Technology will be of no help to you if you dream to be the best at coding and be proud of yourself as a CSE graduate in the future.

  • When it comes to placement, it is good. But, if you consider your learning and look at the knowledge that you acquire in four years, you will not be satisfied.
  • Teaching is an art and most of the teachers lack this art at HIT. And, the rest are average. One of my friends attended HIT. During his time, the algorithm which is one of the most important topics was taught by a well-qualified professor. But, due to a lack of the art of teaching, the students lost interest in the subject.
  • Lab classes are under par. The lab assistant throws tantrums as if he is the dean of the college. Also, most of the teachers are alumni of the college. You won’t find the academic environment very encouraging.
  • No exposure. Even if it has been more than 15 years of the establishment of the college, it has failed to foresee Wipro, TCS, Infosys, CTS, and Tech Mahindra. This is quite unfair to the students who deserve more.
  • The CSE department has talented students but the teachers, who shape these minds don’t put in the required effort.

Despite all these, the students have made it to fortune 500 companies such as SAP Labs, Broadcom, Intel Security, Manhattan Associates. All the credits go to their hark-work and sheer determination.

College gives you a degree, it is you who with your hard work and determination, will make a great CSE graduate.
