Course Curriculum Overview

5

I would rate the course curriculum of HIT as moderately relevant and fairly comprehensive. One of the reasons I choose these college due to its vast variety of courses for Bachelors. Also they have good foundation of higher studies like M.tech.

Internships Opportunities

5

I have done internship in Whizzo Infotech Pvt. Ltd in python and SQL and also in WIPRO talent next program in JAVA full stack. I have made Weather automated system in my final year and inspire by it i have made one software app for the same use case. I have also made registration page and finance management application as my projects.

Placement Experience

5

At HIT, students become eligible for placement from 7th sem. but many companies start their hiring from 6th sem for early and easy going placement drives. In terms of placement, 2024 was not very good due to recession and hiring slowdown. Many companies either skipped campus drives or hires fewer students than usual. After completing my course, i plan to focus on off- campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have completed my B.Tech from Haldia Institute of Technology. My semester wise fees were Rs 40000 for 1st sem and then 44000, 46100, 45100, 47200, 46200, 48300 and 47300 respectively to 8th sem. I received scholarship from DRCC(Bihar Govt) which covered my fees from 2nd sem to 8th sem. Currently, the college fees have increased compared to my admission time.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with campus life at HIT was memorable and positive, especially in terms of society, clubs, sports and other extra curricular activities. Our yearly tech fest is Prayukti and along with prayukti, we have Riviera as our party fest. Our library is quite good with a variety of textbooks, novels and many more research papers. You can go to library from 9 o'clock in the morning to 8 PM evening and also you can borrow books from library. Most classroom had the smart tv facilities alon with AC facilitites. There were many society, clubs like IETE HIT SF, IEEE HIT SB, Needs, TaruGuardians.

Admission

While searchings for colleges, i look for academics, placements, affordability and environment. After various searching, i found Haldia Instiute of Techology a great fit for me according to my criteria.

Faculty

5

The faculty members at HIT are generally knowledgeable and supportive. Most of them holds good academic degree like PhDs. Some of them focuses more on practical knowledge than theory knowledge. My course structure is well-organised and follows the guidelines of MAKAUT(Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology). Marking scheme is fair and MAKAUT is quite strict about evaluation.

Night Life

4

At HIT, night life is decent but not as big and metro cities, Basically my college is based in the outskirts of west bengal. Gym closes by 10pm. Library opens from 9AM to 8PM. Girls hostel closes by 8PM but boys hostel are open all the time.

A total of 12 offers were made. 50% students were placed among who registered. I am currently pursuing M.E in BIOPROCESS TECHNOLOGY from JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY.

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
