Having a college campus in Kolkata will be advantageous for you. You can get IT in Techno India salt-lake main campus. If you don’t get Techno you can go for CSE in B.P. Poddar, RCC or St. Thomas, or any other college. Follow previous year trends of opening and closing ranks of the college and make a choice accordingly. Choosing the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Kolkata can be risky because it is newly established. Even though it is under the banner of IEM, you can’t be certain about placements. Going by the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA.

Haldia Institute of Technology will be of no help to you if you dream to be the best at coding and be proud of yourself as a CSE graduate in the future. When it comes to placement, it is good. But, if you consider your learning and look at the knowledge that you acquire in four years, you will not be satisfied. Teaching is an art and most of the teachers lack this art at HIT. And, the rest are average. One of my friends attended HIT. During his time, the algorithm which is one of the most important topics was taught by a well-qualified professor. But, due to a lack of the art of teaching, the students lost interest in the subject. Lab classes are under par. The lab assistant throws tantrums as if he is the dean of the college. Also, most of the teachers are alumni of the college. You won’t find the academic environment very encouraging. No exposure. Even if it has been more than 15 years of the establishment of the college, it has failed to foresee Wipro, TCS, Infosys, CTS, and Tech Mahindra. This is quite unfair to the students who deserve more. The CSE department has talented students but the teachers, who shape these minds don’t put in the required effort. Despite all these, the students have made it to fortune 500 companies such as SAP Labs, Broadcom, Intel Security, Manhattan Associates. All the credits go to their hark-work and sheer determination. The total fees for 4 years in my college is 5 lakh 83 thousand Indian rupees. I have paid 93 thousand Indian rupees for 6 month which is my 1st semester.In an year roughly 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees I am going to pay to my institution. As I am from Bihar I can take bihar student credit card loan from Bihar.

Tuition fee for 4 year course is 5,82,700 without hostel, with hostel fee is 683700 Out of this 5000 is refundable caution money and 5000 is refundable caution money for hostel Additional in every semester you have to pay 2000 for exam fee Food charge is not added in hostel fee you have to pay extra depending what you eat ranges from 3000-4000/m Scholarship available for different state student If you are sc st and from westbengal then your fee is 20000per semester

Cons and Pros of choosing HIT

The course is quite outdated, and teachers them self are aware of the trending tech and the teaching far away from what the real industry requires. No hackathons (I am talking about regionals), No project based learning.

Fees is fairly affordable. You can apply for nsp scholarship get your 70% fees returned back to you. They charge usless sports fee, which doesn't make sense. In name of development fee you will charged 10000rs per semester, which is again usless in this regard.

Exams and other things are flexible and and well maintained also their is no issues for low attendance but we have to maintain 75% attendance
The fees of our college is quite low rather than other colleges in our west bengal.

At first year when I got admission I was paying 91000 rs for admission and other maintenance charges then other semesters we have to pay accordingly like in second sem the fee is around 66000 and the third sem fee is around 72000 rs and the fees structure continue according to the semester. For the registration, admission lab fees , development fees all the maintenance charges are cover in 1st sem when we pay 91000rs .For sc/st/obc their are some benefits they got especially the government funded facilities and also we get Swami Vivekanand scholarship for west Bengal students and the bihari students got their own goverment funded scholarship. According to Swami Vivekanand scholarship we get 60000rs per year as per our educational purposes.Its provide according to our merit.

Life at HIT Haldia - Simple ,Peaceful, Full of Memories

I have paid combined 110000 as admission fee hostel fee for six month that is ?12,000 and 5000 is the caution money for the hostel and the admission fee also includes first sem fee. After that, I have paid ?82,000 for second semester that includes 12,000 hostel fee. Also that means 70,000 for the semester and 12,000 for the hostel. After that, I paid third semester fee around ?72,000 because in odd semester my college charges some college development fee fees annual library fee annual sports fee and some miscellaneous charges that's why 72000 rs and instead of ?70,000. An hour college also provide TFW facility that means the TFW students don't have to pay the tuition fee. Around 100000rs is the fee for the whole course(4yr) for tfw students.

Year wise fees are not to high in my case it was 115000 per year but it may vary for other admission year. Tution fees are ok studens are paying near about 52000 to 68000 per semester depending upon the admission year. Hostels are aloted at a fixed free of 12000 per semester.
