The NEET syllabus 2027 includes 79 chapters in 3 subjects as announced by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The NMC revised and reduced the syllabus of the then 97 chapters in Biology, Physics and Chemistry to make the syllabus of 79 chapters.
Biology (Botany and Zoology) - 360 Marks
- Genetics and Evolution is around 18% of Biology questions and is the most important unit to learn.
- There are six units which combined account for almost 77% of the Biology marks; they are: Genetics, Ecology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Cell Biology and Plant Physiology. These are the most critical for preparation.
- Three chapters from Class 11 Biology have been completely removed in the revised NMC syllabus. The students who refer to older NCERT books are advised to verify the information with the official NMC notification.
- In a similar pattern, the syllabus of Class 12 Biology has also been reduced by three chapters. Preparing these would be a waste of time, therefore always check the official NMC PDF.

Physics - 180 Marks
- The class 11 Physics syllabus is based on NCERT’s Physics book, which includes all 10 units like Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Kinetic theory, Oscillations and waves etc.
- Class 12 Physics contains all the 9 units of the NCERT book, which include Electrostatics, Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics and Semiconductor Devices.
- For CBT, Physics diagrams and circuit problems will be displayed on the screen. Practising on a digital mock test will give students a huge benefit in terms of time management.
