NEET 2026 Re-Exam Refund Update

NTA has opened a NEET refund verification link, allowing candidates to fix errors in bank details they had already submitted.

Candidates can now access the system, which requires OTP-based Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) through the candidate's registered mobile number.

As per the NTA notice, so far around 13 lakh candidates have updated their bank account details. NTA has also decided to extend the deadline for submission of bank account details till 22nd June 2026.

• The refund link will allow to fix the incorrect or incomplete account numbers and other errors in some candidates' earlier submissions.
• Candidates who skip Re-NEET UG 2026 on June 21 still receive a full fee refund; those appearing in the re-exam pay nothing extra.
• The refund amount ranges from ₹1,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates to ₹9,500 for NRI applicants.
• The original bank details submission window remains open till June 22, 2026 (11:50 PM) for candidates who have not yet applied.
• NTA has warned students against fake refund links and chargeback requests, both of which can delay or block the payout.

NEET UG Refund Process 2026: NTA Issues Important Instructions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that eligible candidates will receive their NEET UG 2026 application fee refund directly into their registered bank accounts via a bank transfer.

To ensure a smooth refund process, candidates are advised to:

• Verify their bank account details carefully.
• Ensure that the account number, IFSC code, and other banking information are correct.
• Regularly visit the official NEET refund portal for the latest updates and announcements.

NTA has also confirmed that candidates are not required to pay any additional charges or processing fees to claim their refund.

Further, candidates who may have submitted incorrect bank account details will be allowed to update or correct their banking information after the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.

How to Use the NEET 2026 Bank Details Verification Link

The NEET UG fee refund process 2026 is fully online, and candidates can access the neet.nta.nic.in refund portal anytime before June 22.

The steps below are for candidates submitting bank details for the first time; if you already submitted details and need to fix an error, use the re-confirmation window described above instead.

• Visit the official website neet.nta.nic.in and look for the "Fee Refund Verification Link" link on the homepage.
• Log in using your NEET Application Number and Password, or your date of birth as set during registration.
• Open the refund module and select "Apply for Fee Refund" if you are skipping Re-NEET UG 2026.
• Enter your bank account holder name, account number, IFSC code, and bank name exactly as they appear on your passbook or cheque.
• Use only your own active bank account. NTA has barred third-party accounts and cyber cafe-linked accounts from this process.
• Review every field carefully. If you spot a mistake after submitting, you can now fix it through the OTP-based re-confirmation window instead of losing your refund.
• Submit the form, then download the confirmation page or take a screenshot for your records.

Note: NTA has clarified that no offline or email-based refund requests will be accepted. Candidates must use only the official NEET refund verification link 2026 on neet.nta.nic.in.

NEET 2026 Refund Amount: Category-Wise Breakup

The NTA NEET refund amount 2026 varies by category and matches the original application fee paid during registration. NTA has confirmed that gateway charges are not part of this refund.

• General and EWS candidates get back the full ₹1,700 fee they paid during registration.
• OBC-NCL candidates are entitled to a refund of ₹1,600, which is ₹100 less than the General category amount.
• SC, ST, and PwD candidates receive the lowest refund at ₹1,000, matching the lower fee they originally paid.
• NRI candidates get the highest refund of ₹9,500, since their original application fee was also the highest.
• The refund covers only the application fee; payment gateway and bank transaction charges are not included.
