IIM Visakhapatnam Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Despite the pandemic, IIM V could successfully achieve 100% placements for the 5th time (Current Batch PGP 2019-21). More than 100 companies have visited campus and 72 among them were new recruiters. Some of the prominent recruiters are Amazon, Amul, Anand Rathi, AU Bank, Byju's, Deloitte, Foxconn, Franklin Templeton, HCL, ICIC Lombard, KPMG, MUSigma, MTR, SBI GI, NCR Corporation, TATA AIA, TATA Power, TA Digital, Tech Mahindra, TVS Motors, Yes Bank etc. The offers were made from diverse sectors accounting for 39% from IT/ITES, 12%-BSFI, 11%-Manufacturing, 4%-Consulting, 4%-Edtech, 4%-FMCG etc. All the students are eligible to sit for placements from term 4 and we have the rolling type of placements where companies come for recruitment throughout the year.

For the personal Interview round, the main thing that matters is knowlege and enthusiasm. The penalist wants to see how much a student is showing interest in the conversation.

IIM Visakhapatnam completed the placement of its third batch of PGP offering an average CTC of INR 12.08 LPA. maximum offers were extended by the Sales and Marketing sector. The batch recorded 100% placements and most of them were offered on a rolling basis. This is due to the fact that more than 18% of the batch received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Maximum job roles were in Sales and Marketing, followed by Consulting, BFSI, and General Management. The top recruiters were HDFC Bank, ICCI Lombard, KPMG, Bosch and Sutherland Global Services.

The students are eligible for final placements from the 4th Trimester i.e. the second year. There are various companies visiting the campus and they make various offers some even get multiple offers. All the students get placed.

Most important is location, placement is so good and have ample ample amount of recruiters. It's a emerging IIM giving tough competition to old IIMs. Emerging IIM always gives us lot of opportunities to develop the skills and interpersonal skills required for the better managerial purpose.

One of the major factors was that IIM Visakhapatnam is one of the most successful third generation IIM's. It is even better than some of the second generation IIM's in many factors. Also, I have heard that Visakhapatnam is a great city and that IIM Visakhapatnam also has a beach facing hostel. I chose MBA because my ultimate goal is to start my own startup and I believe that MBA would surely help me in achieving my goal.

They are overall good since this year will be the 6th year from the date of commencing of college so keeping that in mind, it is relatives good In everything. There is enough number of companies visiting in college, as the college is student driven so placement team look Into the companies and calls good companies for placement. Our college was the first to successfully complete 100% summer placement in year 2019-20 among all tier2 - tier3 IIMs.
