Nikhil Kumar's Review On IIMV - Indian Institute Of Management, Visakhapatnam

Because it was a new IIM so there were many things to be explored and being one of the first few batches you get a bit more attention. The Admission process was quite simple and most of the things were taken care of by the college itself. The duration of the entire course was of two years.

The faculty was extremely qualified with a very good experience in teaching as well as consulting/ practicals. Which was a boon to have. The teaching method was an experience of a kind in its own. The faculty student ratio was also very good.

There are a number of companies that come for the internship with various roles with stipends as high as over 1 Lakhs. The internships are compulsory for everyone on the campus as they are a part of the course.

The students are eligible for final placements from the 4th Trimester i.e. the second year. There are various companies visiting the campus and they make various offers some even get multiple offers. All the students get placed.

The fees were in a total of about 13 Lakhs including everything i.e. books, tuition fees, hostel fee, and all the other things. There were scholarships also given to the students who were selected by the administrative team based on the interview and the need for the student. Some even got a 100% financial assistance.

There are many clubs run by the students and supported by the college. Almost all the various kinds of books and journals are available in the college library, more than one would need which are also available online. The amenities in the classroom were world-class with the best infra in terms of technology as well as the services. The students need not worry about anything after going to college. There were always various types of fests/conclaves happening, with people from the industry in the business conclaves, some training sessions organized by the clubs. Every Month had some or the other event organized by one or the other clubs.

Since the initial days of the campus the hostel was a rented apartment complex with all the facilities, initially it was a shared room for two , the rooms had an attached washroom as well as all the rooms had an AC, tables etc. The food was arranged by a local restaurant, which was quite good

The interview questions were based on the SOP that was to be written before going for the interview. I was asked question from the subjects from the Graduation, current affairs and some logical reasoning.
