Likes

Faculty Members Are Very Helpful In Academic And Non Academic Purposes.
Club's Are Very Active In Their Fields Of Interest.
The Seniors Are Very Helpfull. They Help In Any Problems.

Dislikes

There is no hostel for male students. 4th year are only given hostel.
Connectivity from the main city is not proper.
Canteen is closed. So there is no food within the campus.you have to buy from outside.

Placement Experience:

No companies offered on-campus internship . We were asked to contact by ourselves for off campus internships. You have to work hard and build real world projects. Then apply for off campus internship. Campus placements starts from 7th semester. TCS, Wipro, Infosys and many others mass recruiter come for placement drive . Average is 4 LPA this year 60% students got placements. I am preparing for GATE exam.

Beyond the Brochure: Insights into my College experience

We don't need to buy books or download PDFs every sem; the library has all the required books available.
The staff at our college is quite friendly and helpful. Honestly, I am flabbergasted that I had to jot this point down just to highlight something positive about the college.

Dislikes

The syllabus is never completed on regular days and is rushed towards the end, which is common in most colleges, so it might be acceptable.
Most teachers are not fluent in English, which isn't beneficial because students come from different states and may not understand the regional language.
And here comes the most important issue. I recently found out some teachers just watch YouTube videos, take notes from there and pass them to us in the class. If I wanted to learn from YouTube, why attend lectures?

Placement Experience:

From I guess the end of 3rd year, students become eligible for campus placements. Not considering our college specifically, but the name "Techno" is known, and therefore we do get good companies... Infosys being one of them. Now cracking the job is completely upto you. The highest package till date is around 15 lpa; was of a student who got a job in Amazon.

A Student's POV

Likes

Campus Infrastructure is Very good and vast
Annual fests like riveira and prayukti, gives opportunity to students to showcase their talents and enjoy college life
Large 3 floored library with vast number of books and quiet ambiene along with WiFi facilities to study

Dislikes

Hostel mess food is very horrible and no improvement even after repeated complain
Issues like ragging, senior-junior scenarios disrupt the student peaceful environment
Haldia is an industrial hub, so no good places to visit in haldia

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is okay, it's niether that good nor that bad. Students need to study on their own, apart from college curriculum to get placed in a good company. The highest package would be around 10 lpa and average package around 3 lpa. Around 20-30 companies visit the college online as well as offline.Around 70 percent students get placed in the placement drive .

Jis college of engineering offers diverse range of courses across various disciplines to cater to the evolving need of students and the industry.It provides UG and PG program in engineering, technology,and artificial intelligence and various industry
Jis college of engineering provides Lab-oriented classroom with computer embedded laboratory
It boasts a strong placement record with a dedicated training and placement cell .

Dislikes

Mandatory 75% attendance is like school culture.It should be 50%.
Some faculty are specialized in one domain but they forced to teach other subjects in which they are not mastered.
Campus area is not that big as government college

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements and placement training started from 6th semester. Microsoft higher one or two students from our college and placed but no offers made after training period. Average packyis around 3-5 LPA and the last highest package is around 12 LPA. Don't know the company wise placement details as I am third year student. Above 90% of students placed in campus placements. My plans after getting a degree is to acquire a decent LPA job .

Likes

Teachers of the college are quite friendly and very supportive towards your semester and studies at some field they need improvement
College environment is of top notch as it has good sports facilities and the environment beside campus is clean composed community.

Dislikes

Labs are not upto the point to work upon
Placement are not upto the top notch as many companies don't visit to our campus

Placement Experience:

placements as of now lot companies don't visit but some banking sector visit and hire some playful students who are actually capable of doing good job there. Packages are not a lot they offer they can give u upto 2lakh per annum. It's upto the students who want to get placed they have to work harder and make it for themselves. My plan are very clear that I have to make it to placement as if it can give me a greater satisfaction for me and my family.

Best guidance from faculties as they are also experienced
Very good principal to guide in all issues.
Library and labs are very nice and librarian guides you for the best books

Dislikes

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Samsung, Qspiders, Pentagon space, etc. are the companies which visit the college. Average package 8LPA. I totally depend on the campus placements as they are offering such good companies and they also provide training courses for the students.

My Honest Opinion of SIT

Likes

Most of the facilities are good, and have extensive knowledge about their subject. Some professors have great way of teaching that makes it easy to learn that specific subject.
Seniors are helpful and help us whenever possible from their side, especially during competitions.
Surrounding environment is really great. During breaks, one can easily go to the mountain, have snacks and return easily. Or can have a fun time in the nearby water stream.

Dislikes

Just like many other colleges, I didn't find the reason to learn Workshop. The Graphics subject was aslo irrelevant to my course. Even though they give reasons to include these subjects in our curriculum, but I still find it irrelevant.
I don't like the teaching style of some specific facilities. It is as if they are saying and writing the exact words of the book instead of making is understand the concepts.
Many unnecessary assignments with tight schedule, specifically during the even semester when we have very very less time. We got only 3 months for preparation of 2nd semester.

What I have gained from the seminars hosted by the Placement Cell of our college is that, they will give their 100% to bring as many companies possible and provide placement as long as students maintain their academic record and develop their skills. But getting a single backlog paper in any semester can can hinder in the process of getting placement. And what I've heard from senior is that, the placement Cell will prepare you for the interview as long the students can clear the previous rounds.

The environment here is too good.. The nature is beautiful and the area is pollution free
There are sufficient classroom and the college having a great infrastructure lab system.. Placements are also good in kgec
Besides study the cultural part of the college is too good .. there are many cultural and technical clubs in our college and also the annual fest in kgec is great

Students are eligible for placement in the 7th semester The main companies that visit the campus are TCS, IBM, etc. Many people get Microsoft, google in off-campus also The avarage package will be increased after getting naac verified.

Gmit has a dedicated place ment cell that words towards providing placement assistances and intership opportunituies to students.the cell organizes various trainning programs ,workshops and seminars to enhance the employeebiality to the students.

Student can start campus placements in the 7th semester of their B.tech program.the highest package is around inr 12lpa.the average package is between inr 3.5lpa to inr 5 lpa.About 70-80% eligible students get placed through campus recuirement

No campus life but campus opprtunities is there

The things that i like about IEM is its Punctuality and Descipline.
IEM is located at the tech hub of salt lake city which gives student more exposer.
IEM has higher placement rate than that of other private colleges in west bengal

Dislikes

This College does not have a proper campus, only buildings.
this college has uniform and conduct itself in proper school format like 9 to 4, sometimes till 5 pm.
If any teacher is absent, they don't cancel the class they just substitute with another one.

Placement Experience:

IEM is the best private college in West Bengal in terms of placement opportunities. even at the time of recession, many students got multiple offers from MNCs like TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, IBM, Capgemini, ITC Infotech, Oracle, and many others. Many students opted for a master's abroad and pursued Mtech or MBA from IITs and IIMs.
