FROM 6TH SEMESTER STUDENT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PLACEMENTS AND FROM 5TH SEM STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR INTERNSHIP COMPANIES THAT USUALLY COME FOR PLACEMENTS ARE ITC CTS BERGER PAINTS HALDIA PETROCHEMS LINDE TECHNIP WOODS THEY USUALLY OFFER FROM 3 LPA TO 12LPA DEPENDING ON THE PACKAGE AND USUALLY 75% GET PLACED EVERY YEAR AND FEW GO FOR FURTHER STUDIES I AM CURRENTY WORKING FOR IT FIRM

I choose Chemical engineering Dept because it is very old( one of the oldest department of Calcutta University). It has good alumni network and placement cell. Here in University, there is less no. of students so you can easily get placed in Top MNC'S.

Campus placements are good in our branch with an average CTC of 6.84 lakhs. Companies like Haldia Petro, Indian Oil

The focus of the professors here is primarily research, and they encourage students to do so too. But, at the same time, the placements in our department is around 80%, although there is no proper placement cell. I got to know all this because my uncle is a professor in another department of this college. But most people do not know all this because 4-yr Btech course was started here from 2016. The admissions are strictly based on the rank in the merit list of WBJEE.

Before the placement statistics you have to Know one thing that is Calcutta University has started 4 year's BTech in 2015, before it, the University used to provide a Bsc BTech program for 80 years (approx). So, now you can imagine the alumni network and the reputation of this Institution in the corporate field. The average package is all around 5-6 LPA. I am giving you the placement statistics of my department that is Chemical Engineering. Among all Department in CU, Chemical Engineering Department has the highest placement statistics. About 90% of the batch is placed every year. Companies like Haldia petrochemical, Technip, Linde, Hindustan Unilever, Excide Battery, Balmaer Lawrie, Asian paint, Berger, Appolo tire, BARC, IOCL, ONGC, Diamond Beverage, Sun pharma, Pfizer etc, provide Placement and internship opportunities. The average package of Chemical Engineering is 5.5-6 LPA. And the other departments has also a good placement record

Students can appear for placements after the 6th semester. Burjer, Asian paints, Haldia petrochemical, Jk tyres, Colgate, come here. Average package is 5LPA. Highest package is near 11-12 LPA. 80% of students get placed. I will go for PSUs through GATE and also will appear in placement rounds.

The college is good the environment to learn is good and also having an experinced faculty wich makes the students progess in future. The college campus is clean and hygenic. The students can learn a lot more and will not regret gettung their addmision done here.

There is more place to improve in our college- infrastructure, academics, extracurricular activities, Sports, Other facilities. College authority should be more impactful to get involved in the development of College. Hope for best.

There is many places for improvement in this College. College authority should take care of these problems. University of Calcutta is now top most University of India by QS Ranking. As a part of this historical educational instituitions, this College should maintain the legacy of excellence.

Overall it is a great place of learning both in terms of education and real life values.
