- Calcutta University Online PG Registration Process has started. Students admitted to the PG courses must upload the relevant documents from Nov 6 to Dec 31, 2024. Further, Migrating Students must submit a hardcopy of the Students’ Registration Form at the Registrar’s Office from Nov 11 along with other required documents.
- The last date to apply for M.Music Courses 2024-2025 is Nov 11, 2024. The entrance test is scheduled for Nov 14, 2024. To check the complete schedule, click here.
- Applications are invited for admission to LLM/MSc/MA in Human Rights (Self-Financing Course). Aspirants can submit the online application forms through the university’s website (caluniv.ac.in) from Oct 25 to Nov 8, 2024. Entrance Test for the course is scheduled on Dec 1, 2024.
- PhD in Law admission are open at the University of Calcutta. Candidates can submit their applications from October 23 to November 22 at the office of the Department of Law (1st floor), Hazra Campus, CU. The entrance test will be conducted on November 24. Check details here
- Admissions are open for LLM and the application forms will be available from Oct 4 to Oct 23, 2024 at the university’s official website (caluniv.ac.in). 50% of seats for the course are reserved for CU Hons. Calcutta University (CU) offers UG, PG, Doctoral, Diploma, and Certificate courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, etc. Admissions at Calcutta University are done in two categories, i.e., Part ‘A’ for CU Candidates and Part ‘B’ for Non-CU candidates. The university offers admission to 80% of seats for CU candidates (Part ‘A’) and 20% for non-CU candidates. Calcutta University conducts an entrance test for admission to 20% of seats in PG courses for non-CU candidates (Part ‘B’).
Admissions to UG courses such as BA, B.Sc, and B.Com are based on marks secured in the qualifying examination. Calcutta University PG admissions including MA, M.Sc, M.Com, B.Ed, LLM are based on entrance examination (for Part ‘B’ candidates) or marks secured in the qualifying examination (for Part ‘A’ candidates) followed by a personal interview. Admission to BTech, MBA, MCA, and MTech programs are based on national-level test scores such as WBJEE/JEE Main, CAT/MAT/XMAT/JEMAT, WB-JECA, and GATE respectively.
The final selection of all Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’ candidates is done through a counselling process conducted by the university. Seats are allotted based on scores obtained in the entrance examination or marks secured in the qualifying examination and interview (for respective programs). For the selection, 70% weightage will be given to entrance or qualifying exam scores and 30% to the interview conducted by the respective departments.

Calcutta University PG Admissions 2024
Calcutta University offers admission to MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, MTech, B.Ed, B.Lib.Sc, M.Li.Sc, M.Ed, and LL.M in multiple disciplines in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law & Education at postgraduate level. The basic eligibility for PG courses is a pass in a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant disciplines.
Admissions to PG courses are offered in two categories, i.e., Part ‘A’ for CU Candidates and Part ‘B’ for Non-CU candidates. 80% of total seats are earmarked for CU students (Honours Graduates of CU including Autonomous Colleges affiliated to CU will be considered in Part – “A” ) and admission to 20% of seats will be offered in Part “B” (Honours Graduates of other Universities (Non-C.U.).
Selection for Part “A” candidates will be based on marks secured in the qualifying examination, while Part “B” candidates are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university.

Calcutta University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
For admission into PhD at CU, candidates must have a Postgraduate Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% (50% for reserved categories).
Calcutta University Ph.D. Selection Process
Admission to Ph.D. at CU is done on the basis of score in the Written Test followed by Research Proposal & an interview. UGC/ CSIR/ JRF (NET)/ SET/ SLET/ GATE or DST (Inspire) Scholarship or Teacher Fellowship holders will be exempted from the Written Test. Those students are also exempted from the university written test who have completed M.Phil/ M.Tech/ MD/ ME/ M.Pharm degree from a recognized university.

Admission:
I choose this college because my college is the number one college known for the course of anthropology under Calcutta University. This is the first college where Anthropology department started under Calcutta University and it has given a number of students who are eligible for being an Anthropologist , archaeologist , professors, and other careers that can be approached by studying BSc Anthropology. My college provides the course of vanderbology during the day and also at the evening time.

Although I have applied for 2-3 more colleges but I got selected here very first and further I got selected in rest of the college's, as I got first selected so I didn't go anywhere and as I heard from my parents that this college is a heritage it self and good studie

- Washrooms should be more hygienic. And also need regular cleaning

Admission:
I had applied in many colleges and also got selected there but I chose city college for it's friendly atmosphere and supportive seniors. In order to eligible for pass course you need minimum 60percent for not put yourself in waiting list. If you score below this then there are chances that your name will be not in the first list. There are 2 or sometimes 3 lists are out for admission list. If you want to go with honours then you need 85 to 90 percent because seats are very limited

- There was no such parking area around the college.

I choose this college as this college is one of the reputated commerce college in my city. This college has highly qualified faculties. Along with this it also provides a large space to the students to grow.

- The teachers are very helpful and be with the students in any situation

- Our canteen should be more good and clean
- The watchman and guards behaviour should be more good

Because this college BIDHAN Chandra college Rishra is the only college in whole CU from where most number of CA is hired many stories and student become ca from this college this is the best college for a commère student

- Fest are just amazing the artist they bring the management they have are just amazing
- Heads of the college are so friendly they always help you in each and every scenario
Dislikes
- I don’t think there is anything we dislike as an THK JAIN STUDENT
- Nothing everything is just perfect and easy
Admission:
I choosed 3 college bhawanipore jaipuriya and thk jain i choosed thk jain college because of the environment they have beautiful campus crazy people around you but bhawanipore students thinks they are the king if the college ragging issues are there and I didn't join jaipuriya because my ex used also take admission thier and I don't want to see her face My marks won't allow any college to reject me The admission process is so easy just you have to give one mcat exam i think so then roam the college if you love it take the admission cutoffs are 70 percent

- The college is a great place for holistic development as not only studies but many opportunities for extracurriculars are also available
- The crowd is very diversified and thus there are variety of cultures to learn from

Because this college is very well ranked , it provides top notch education , it instiils disclipne and perceverance in its students and obviously it has alot of societies and fests to help the student grow holistically and confidently.
Likes
- Senior Mentors and Faculties with average experience over 15 years
- Affordable fees and charges much less as compared to other institutions
Dislikes
- Placement opportunities are limited for Energy , Health and Environment Management courses
- Almost zero college tours and internships
Admission:
The best part of this insititute is the legacy that it carries being the oldest management institute of the country it aims to keep upto its reputation. The courses are extremely affordable with minimal additional cost other than you opt in for hostels and other things. The college is also average in terms of placement . While I did I apply for other institutes and got through the GD/ PI , being a part of a government run institution was always in mind so had to opt for IISWBM over its competitors

- The infrastructure is good and the area in which the college is located its nice
- The faculty is very supportive all the profesors are highly qualified
Dislikes
- There's way tooo rush in the college it's heavily crowded
- If ur opting for bcom it's waste like attendance ain't compulsory
Admission:
I didn't apply to any other colleges I really wanted this college and it has a good reputation so that's one of the major reason is why I opted for this particular college the admission starts when the cbse or icse boards results are out and the cut off can be as low as 40%

- Friendly faculty is one of the most liked factor of the department.
- Helpful admin staff of the department makes work easier
Dislikes
- As a govt college the office staffs are very lazy.
- There is as such no scope of placements.
Admission:
As a govt college the course fee for bba hons was very low here. Other colleges charges about 60-80k per year. But this college charges around 40-50k, which makes it more affordable to acheive the degree in your desired course.
