Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main thing that I love about the curriculum is that we need to study in depth. Our syllabus contains most basic to really professional level stuff which really help us prepare for real life experiences and further academic pursuits. The only change i would like is more practical experiences that would be helpful.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total amount of fees for this course is 3,21,000. The admission fees was 51,000 and per semester it is 30,000 so, yearly we ar paying 60,000 rupees. It is same for everyone and there is no reservations for fees structure. No financial aid or scholarship is available. The fees might change for junior batches.

Campus Life

4

We held a lot of extracurricular activities. From inter and intra college competition to cultural events, seminars and court visits. These events are mostly held during September to December and during cultural holidays like Rabindra Jayanti. We have a huge range of books and journals available in our library. From sociology to Banking law you can find a great options on textbook and journals. We also have a e library where you can access different journals and portals. We have a magazine which is run by the students and respected faculty members. We also have a student run moot court committee.

Admission

Our college is affiliated with Calcutta University which is a prestigious university so that was the first criteria for me. Other than that the campus is really great which the first thing I noticed when I first visited. Our faculty members are great, friendly and helpful. The relationship between seniors and juniors is pretty friendly. The atmosphere is great for studying. We are provided with most of the materials we need. We have a library packed with all the books we need. The admission process for my College is you need to take the Calcutta University Law Entrance Exam or CULET. Then it publishes the marks whereby the names are mentioned. Once the name is confirmed with reference to the respective College the students can get admission. We also arrange many seminars, inter and intra college competition like moot courts and debates. These events are mostly arranged by the students with help of our faculty members. We also have available canteens with affordable food options. Overall this fulfill most of the criteria I wanted.

Faculty

4

Our faculty members are great. They are helpful and friendly. They teach us everything with great enthusiasm and also provide us study materials. They are always available if we have any questions. They are highly educated with most of them having post graduation and doctorate degree. Other than the semester exams we often have class tests, presentations and viva. We also have moot courts and mock courts. The class tests are pretty easy but one should worry about the semester exams. Those are tough. We have to write total 5 essay type questions with three hours for 80 marks

Night Life

3

Our canteens and library arround campus are available during the college hours. There are a few cafeterias near campus available even after college hours. The locality is safe and the atmosphere is great here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always intrested in societal issues and how to deal with the social demons and that why i choose law as my course subjects The course teaches you the tmrules towards the course of society. It teachers us every nooks and cracks of the society and how to deal with them The course will teach you the bookish values and is completely oblivious towards the real life outside the books the practical is different when it comes to working in courts. There are internships but until you enter into the world of law and practice on your own you won't get a grasp of any understanding One year ending exams with 2 practical papers and the difficulty level depends on the depth of the student

Course Curriculum Overview:

Law opens the door to several job prospects and my dream as a child to be a part of the judiciary has influenced me to choose the course. The curriculum prepares definitely prepares me for higher legal studies and have a strong foundation in legal knowledge. SNU needs to improve the quality of faculty they have and there's a long way to improvement. End semester exams are held over a period of every 4-5 months, they conduct MSA in between each semester. The set the papers really tough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Law as a course has developed throughout the years and there are only a few shortcomings in the studying aspect of it. Law, in a broad sense, can be applied to almost each and every problems that citizens of India face, be it corporate law, criminal, civil law. In an even broader sense, there is Constitutional law. A major fault in the teaching and course is the excessive teaching of landmark judgements and lesser number of moot courts which in practice might land young lawyers in trouble coming from the judiciary since they're just too much aware of different landmark judgements but not the cases/context behind it. Mainly, four exams are held which concern the actual marks- Internals and Externals. First internal and external is typically held on January or February and Second internal and external during July or August.

I always wanted to pursue law so I chose this course. Government college provides the best faculty and my college takes regular students to attend various seminars in WBNUJS or any such seminar Our College have LLM-completed teachers, some are PHD holder as well. The exam happens every six months. It's easy to pass only if you study properly but CU check copies strictly, it's hard to get more than 90.
