The institute previously conducted its own entrance exam, a 100-mark test covering Mathematics, English, Reasoning, and General Knowledge, followed by an interview. Out of approximately 5,000 candidates, only 30 seats were available, making admission highly competitive. The faculty is composed of highly qualified experts, with Mathematics courses taught by staff from the Indian Statistical Institute and Management courses led by former faculty of XLRI and IIM. These educators focus on practical knowledge to prepare students for the industry.

The fee structure is very affordable, with an admission fee of Rs. 100 and a monthly fee of Rs. 200, payable manually at the university's fee collection counter. The University of Calcutta lacks a dedicated placement cell, so students must rely on off-campus interviews for job opportunities, with support from alumni and faculty. Scholarships are not offered due to the already nominal fees.
