JEMAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must check the JEMAT 2026 eligibility criteria before applying. MAKAUT has set broad eligibility conditions that allow graduates from any discipline to apply for management admissions in West Bengal.

Educational Qualification

• You must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline — Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, Medical, Dental, or Agriculture.
• The degree must be from a university or institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE.
• You need at least 50% aggregate marks in your bachelor’s degree for the General category.
• SC and ST candidates need a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
• If you are in your final year of graduation, you can still apply. However, at the time of actual admission, you must provide proof of completing the degree with the required marks.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for appearing in JEMAT 2026. Any Indian national who meets the academic qualification can apply, regardless of age.

Nationality

Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear for JEMAT. Foreign nationals and NRI candidates cannot apply for JEMAT 2026.

Work Experience

Work experience is not mandatory for JEMAT eligibility. Fresh graduates can apply directly. Some individual colleges may consider work experience as a positive factor during GD/PI rounds, but it is not a JEMAT eligibility requirement set by MAKAUT.

Other Important Points

• Candidates who have a valid CAT or MAT score can use those scores directly at MAKAUT-affiliated colleges. A JEMAT score is one of the accepted routes, not the only one.
• There is no limit on the number of times you can appear for JEMAT. You can attempt both Phase 1 and Phase 2 in the same year.
• Graduates from engineering, medicine, and law streams are all eligible — JEMAT tests general aptitude and not subject-specific knowledge from your graduation course.

Final-year students who receive provisional admission must complete all degree requirements and submit the final mark sheet and certificate within the timeline given by the college. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of admission.

JEMAT 2026 Application Form and Registration

The JEMAT 2026 Phase 1 registration closed on June 1, 2026. If you missed Phase 1, you can apply for JEMAT Phase 2, which is expected to open for registration in October 2026. Here is a complete guide on how the JEMAT application process works.

How to Apply for JEMAT 2026

1. Visit the official JEMAT portal at cetmat.formflix.com/jemat.
2. Click on the "New Registration" or "Apply Now" link on the homepage.
3. Fill in your personal details — name, date of birth, contact information, and academic qualification details.
4. Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
5. Pay the application fee through the online payment gateway using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
6. Submit the form and download the confirmation receipt. Keep it safe for future reference.

After completing registration, note down your registration number and password carefully. You will need these credentials to log in and download your admit card and rank card later.

JEMAT 2026 Application Fee

The JEMAT application fee is non-refundable. Payment through offline mode (cash, demand draft) is not accepted.

• Class 10 mark sheet (for date of birth verification)
• Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate

JEMAT 2026 Admit Card

The JEMAT 2026 Phase 1 admit card was released on June 3, 2026. The Phase 1 exam was successfully held on June 7, 2026. For JEMAT Phase 2, the admit card will be released in October 2026, a few days before the exam date.

How to Download JEMAT 2026 Admit Card

1. Go to the official JEMAT portal at cetmat.formflix.com/jemat.
2. Click on the "Applicant Login" button on the homepage.
3. Enter your registration number and the password you set during application.
4. Click on the "Admit Card" link on your dashboard.
5. Download the PDF and keep a copy accessible on your device for exam day.

What the JEMAT 2026 Admit Card Contains

• Candidate’s name, registration number, and photograph
• Exam date, time slot, and mode (remote proctored CBT)
• Login credentials for the online exam platform
• Technical system requirements and check-in instructions
• General rules and guidelines for the exam day

Since JEMAT is a remote proctored online exam, your admit card also contains the login access for the exam platform. You must complete the mandatory system check (camera, microphone, internet) before the exam window opens.

No candidate is allowed to take the exam without a valid admit card. For remote proctored exams, start your system check at least 30 minutes before the exam time to avoid technical issues that may result in disqualification.

JEMAT 2026 Syllabus: Section-wise Topics

The JEMAT 2026 syllabus covers three sections — English Language Skills, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning. The difficulty level is moderate, broadly at the Class 11–12 standard. Most Mathematics topics are arithmetic and algebra-based, and the English section tests grammar and reading at a graduate level.

The Mathematics and English sections carry 80% of the total marks. Focus your preparation time mostly on these two sections. The Logical Reasoning section has only 10 questions but covers a manageable range of topics — with consistent practice, it can become your most accurate section on exam day.

JEMAT 2026 Preparation Tips for Phase 2

JEMAT 2026 Phase 1 has been conducted on June 7, 2026. If you are now preparing for JEMAT 2026 Phase 2 (expected in October 2026), you have approximately 3–4 months. The exam tests moderate-level aptitude and a focused routine can get you a strong rank with the right approach.

General Strategy

• Know the syllabus first: Go through the complete JEMAT syllabus before you start studying. Avoid preparing topics not covered in the syllabus.
• Prioritize by marks: English and Mathematics carry 40 marks each. Give them the most preparation time compared to Logical Reasoning (20 marks).
• Study from previous year papers: JEMAT 2023, 2024, and 2025 question papers show you the typical difficulty and question types. Solve at least 3–4 previous papers before the exam.
• Attempt the official demo test: MAKAUT releases a demo test before every JEMAT. Use it to practice the remote proctoring setup — webcam, microphone, and exam interface.
• Focus on accuracy: With 50 questions in 120 minutes, time is not a constraint. Work slowly and accurately rather than rushing through questions.

Section-wise Preparation Tips

English Language Skills

• Read one English passage daily — newspaper editorials or short articles work well. This builds reading speed and inference skills.
• Revise grammar rules — tenses, subject-verb agreement, and use of articles are repeatedly tested in JEMAT.
• Build vocabulary of 10–15 new words per day using word lists or vocabulary apps.
• Practice sentence correction and para-jumbles from MBA preparation books or free online question banks.

Mathematics

• Start with arithmetic topics — percentages, profit-loss, ratio-proportion, time-work, and time-distance. These appear most frequently in JEMAT.
• Learn shortcut calculation techniques. Even with 2 minutes per question, faster calculation reduces pressure.
• Dedicate 2–3 sessions per week to Data Interpretation (DI). JEMAT regularly includes table-based and graph-based DI sets.
• Revise basic geometry and algebra. These are less frequent but can be attempted quickly once revised.

Logical Reasoning

• The LR section has only 10 questions, so a focused 2–3 weeks of practice is enough.
• Coding-decoding, blood relations, and direction problems are the most common question types. Solve at least 20 questions from each type.
• Practice seating arrangement and Venn diagram questions — these take more time but are highly scoring.

Recommended Study Plan for Phase 2

With 3–4 months before Phase 2, a daily 1.5 to 2-hour study routine covers the entire syllabus comfortably. Spend 50 minutes on Mathematics, 40 minutes on English, and 20 minutes on Logical Reasoning each day. Every weekend, attempt one full-length JEMAT mock test and review all mistakes carefully. Candidates who follow this routine consistently score in the 65–75 range, which typically places them in the top 2,000 ranks.
