IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

We have CDC in our college which conducts Placement and internships in our college , approx 200 companies visit iit kgp for placemenst , we have 69 percent of placement and approx 500 PPO s where those companies over pre placement offer ,Avg package is around 17 lakhs and highest package around 2 cr. we have lots of oppurtunities in different roles like SDE, consultant, analyst etc, all final year students sits for placement

The placements in IIT is always very good. The placements in my branch is very good standing at more than 90% from past three years and the average package is 30lakh. The overall average package is around 20lakh. Highest package offered last year was 2.6 crore.

CDC conducts the placements and internships in IIT kharagpur. Mostly 200 + companies visit IIT for placements. Every student in their final year are eligible for campus placement. Highest package around 2 cr and average package is around 17 lakhs. Approx 70 percent student get placed. Those students who got Internships get PPOs in the companies and they get placed.I want to do job after my degree.

We have Btech, Dual degree, PhD students in our college where they participate in placements in their final year. We get many eminent companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and etc. Approximately 200+ companies visit IIT Kharagpur every year for placements, Those students who got internships get PPO in the company, The highest package is around 2.4cr, and average package is around 17 lakhs. approximately 75 percent of students got placed in the last year even in the huge recession period. I want to do a Job in IT company by cracking placement.

There is Career Development Centre in IIT Kharagpur which looks after placements and internships. Students have to compulsorily do an intern in the pre-final year, the internship opportunities are provided by college itself where companies are called on-campus. The students become eligible for placement in their last year if they have no backlogs. This year approximately 150 companies visited the campus for interns and 68 companies for placements including IBM,Google, Amazon, Puma, Bain&Bain,ITC,HUL, DRL, Wells Fargo, Lenovo, Samsung, Delloite, Kotak Bank and many more. Total 850 offers were made with 21 international offers. Highest package was like 1 crore made by some HFT for software role. Average package was about 12 lakhs. This year placemet offers fall by 20 to 30 percent with less than 50% students getting placed. I aim to do higher studies after graduation.

It depends if you are from computer science department then average pakage that you get will be around twenty lpa if other departments then it would be around ten lpa .Since, It is IIT Kharagpur so, most of students get their desired placements

As I am first year ofcourse I am not offered any placements but the placement rates here are high I can more than 90% which include big companies like Microsoft, google, goldman sachs, bajaj , tata,etc tech companies and also core companies come to IIT campuses but not more frequently as Tech companies. Here all are given opportunities to sit in placement drive for these companies(if companies are not branch specific) be he/she from civil, ocean engineering , biotech,etc. About 85-90% of minimum students get oncampus placements. In terms of package average is about 16LPA considering all the branches and the highest package can go up to 3 Crores(but only one or two get that much amount!!) . Most people get around 25LPA.

Students become elligble for placements after their 7th semester for Btech and 9th semester for Dual Degree. A lot Tech, finance and consultancy companies reach campus for the placements. Highest package for this year at IIT KGP is 1 Cr per annum and average is between 15-20 lpa.
