Applicants must be qualified with the following to be eligible to apply:
- The applicant has to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- The applicant must not be more than 22 years of age at the time of application.
- For B.A. Hons. (Economics), the student must have had Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10 + 2.
BHU BA (Hons) Admission Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to BA (Hons.) in BHU have to appear for CUET (UG) 2024. They are required to opt for Section I A – Language Test - (Hindi or English) and Section III – General Test. Candidates who will not appear in both Sections will not be considered for admission. The selection will be based on the merit list released by the university. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined Score of Section IA +Score of Section III of CUET. Based on the merit obtained by a candidate in allotment of Honours subject under the B.A.(Hons) Social Sciences group following honors subjects would be made at the time of counseling: Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, and Geography.
BHU BA (Hons) Application Process
Candidates applying for BA (Hons.) in BHU are required to apply for the CUET on the official website of NTA. The application process for CUET is as follows:
- Candidates must visit the official CUET website at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG.
- Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.
- After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button.
- After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully.
- After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents.
- Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
- After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future references.
- Candidates can login to their portals for any new updates, college cutoffs and so forth.

BHU BA (Hons) Entrance Exam
Admission to the BA program of BHU is will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. The exam will be conducted in online mode as a computer-based test mode. The duration of the exam varies as per the course opted by the candidate.
CUET Question Paper consists of objective-type questions. Candidates can attempt the entrance test in 13 languages namely, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu. As per CUET Exam Pattern, CUET consists of the following four sections.

BHU BA (H) End Semester Examination
The courses are of 6 semesters, and of 3 years duration. The semester examination details are as mentioned below.
- The end semesters are a timed Open Book Examination.
- The total duration of the examination will be 4 hours.
- The Question Paper will contain 08 questions out of which students have to answer any 04.
- The question paper will be of 70 marks with each question carrying 17.5 marks.
- Each question can be answered in up to 350 words.

Ans. There are several concessions granted. Some such relaxations include:
- There is no minimum requirement for eligibility for SC and ST candidates.
- A 5% relaxation in marks is granted to OBC and PwD candidates to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- There is an age relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC / ST categories and 3 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to OBC category for admissions.
- To qualify the UET, candidates from SC and ST categories should achieve at least 25% of the marks achieved by the Topper of the examination.
