Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course Curriculum is totally helpful for those who want to make their career in teaching and research or if someone wants to aspire for government examination. I chose this course because i want to be a Civil servant. This prepare you for the real world by teaching the subjects of humanities which is very helpful in any field. Let it be politics or civil services or teaching etc. The areas of improvement must be the management of the course, the exams and classes must be on time.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for arts faculty is 1150 per semester which makes it 2300 per year. The fee is same for all the categories. There is no scholarship opportunities by the University but you can apply for scholarships under UP government.

Campus Life

3

Overall campus experience is good, the environment here is more study focussed rather than festivals and extra curricular. Though many fests and extra curricular happen in campus. The foundation day is celebrated every basant panchami, before diwali there is festival of dev dipavali. Holi gatherings and many more. The range of books in library is vast , there are 10 lakhs books in the library including theses, journals, manuscripts. There are projectors in classrooms but are used rarely, wifi connection in every class room. Sports tournaments happen in the campus, there are teams for different sports. There is also a facilities for free gym. Clubs and social groups are there related to civil services, sports, music etc The availability is there in the campus for literally everything but the accusition is bad sometimes.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities in arts faculty are dissappoting in many cases until we talk about the rent. The rent is so Affordable that you can deal with other things. The Cleanliness is the challenging part. But things are very much improving. In a room you are provided with a bed , a fan , a table and a chair, an almirah. The rooms in LBS are good but in the birla hostel they are not praised alot. ( there are only two hostels in arts faculty) The meal quality is not good, there have been many cases where the mess needed to close. But as i said things are improving so you can manage with that, its 55-80rs per meal(80 on the days of special dishes) Registration process is with the registration of college seat. If you get alloted you'll need to fulfill the formalities. If you don't get hostels, you can rent room in Chittupur which is Affordable and near to the college.

Admission

I applied in delhi university and i got selected for the admission in Hansraj college. I left that college and chose BHU over that because of its Affordability. Courses like BA doesn't ensure placements and direct job offers for which spending money like hansraj's fee and delhi accomodation didn't plead me. The accomodation in Varanasi is so low and the quality of study is also good. The admission process is through CUET-UG exam ( common university entrance test) the eligibility to get admitted in BA is that you must be 12th passed, and must have given the general test and language exam in CUET. Cutoff is high for BHU, not higher than DU's North Campus Colleges.

Faculty

4

The faculties are good, they are quite knowledgeable and helpful. They are all highly qualified and teach very well. One of my favourite faculty is DR. RL BEHRA sir who teaches us philosophy and the other philosophy teacher Dr. Neeti singh is also a very good teacher. There are no faculties i don't like. There are mid semester exams then there are semester exams, mid sem are of 30 marks which solely depends on your class teacher, marking and question making. The semester exams are of 70 marks, paper is conducted directly by University. The result considers the sum of mid sem and sem exams, which makes the total of 100marks. Not many students fail to clear the exam. The course Curriculum is very relevant to the field of teaching and government services.

Night Life

4

Everything including faculties, gyms, cafeterias closes in the dark, out side the campus you can find things. You can also use fast delivery services like swiggy, zepto etc. Hostel timing for girls are strict but for boys it's lenient, you can go out at 3 am with no issue. Its quite safe except for some of the cases unfortunately. There are many places to hangouts as Varanasi is known for one of the famous tourist place. The over crowding cause problems sometimes. There are many temple and ghats outside the campus. Inside the campus there is a big temple ( vishwanath temple) which is famous for people to go.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.
