DAV Post Graduate College, popularly known as DAV BHU, is a well-established college located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. DAV PG College was established in 1938 as an Intermediate college recognized by Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It got degree status from the University in 1947 and permanent affiliation in 1954. DAV BHU Admission

DAV BHU offers admission to UG and PG programs in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce. DAV PG College offers courses at the UG level such as B.A (Hons) Arts, B.A (Hons) Social Sciences, B.Com (Hons) etc and at PG level the courses which are offered are M.A (Arts), M.A (Social Sciences), M. Com etc. To be eligible for UG courses at DAV PG College, candidates must have passed 10+2 level with a minimum 50% aggregate marks in the relevant disciplines. While candidates need to have a master’s degree with at least 50% marks to be eligible for PG courses. Admission to UG and PG courses will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. DAV PG College accepts CUET UG for UG and CUET PG scores for PG courses.

Faculty: The faculties are actively involved in research and development activities, paper presentations/publications at national and international levels.
Class rooms: 12 highly modernized smart class rooms fabricated with high quality display projectors and high speed internet facility. Each room can accommodate more than 100 students. Such classroom is set up with an endeavor to provide ICT enabled instruction
Laboratories: The college has a number of well equipped laboratories including Commerce Laboratory, Archaeology Laboratory, Language Laboratory, Psychology Laboratory, Economics Laboratory.
Seminar hall: It has a capacity of more than 150 people to sit together. It is fully air conditioned and equipped with echo absorbing technology. It has a high quality projector display facility as well.

the classes , and the faculty were good , teachers were friendly and had a good experience in teaching and the library got recently renovated and the modification was good, the infrastructure and the overall experience too.
campus was openly and had alot of space and energy, students had there program's, fests and seminars.
digital library was very well maintained ,and the college administration was very cooperative and works with in the time

Dislikes

the location was the only problem because there was too much trafic
rhe college didn't even had it's own parking that was a main issue plus they charged 5rs./day as a parking fee which was something that needs to be addressed
the rooms were a bit outdated, especially in the arts building, plus there could be more courses they only provided for b.com and ba

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

the course structure was well designed and updated with the ongoing preparations of government exams which helped me alot in my preparations as everywhere polity is something that is a mandatory one and hence the curriculum plus the overall teaching pattern the timing of exams and the level of difficulty was moderate if someone had attended all the classes, plus the marking scheme was a bit hard and other aspects like attendance was also included, however there's no such compulsion that one must attend the classes this was only applicable for sessionals

Various clubs, events and sports in the college

there was no such thing like clubs as our college focused more on the societal activities including nss and ncc and environmental programmes , sports mainly included table tennis which was so good that many sports events were organised on that the negative point included that our college lacked in fests , and cultural programmes

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

faculty were good and the teacher student d relationship was good too, the faculties also had interactions with alot of students plus they also helped us out during times of semesters on how to prepare ourselves, writing structures and all Gaurav sir , who taught us political science was very helpful in nature , pratima shukla ma'am of political thought too

What is the admission process of the campus?

I applied for bhu main campus as my first preference, this college as second (on the basis of distance) and thirdly on vasanta college in which I got selected but later it got upgraded to this as it was my second preference, however I couldn't make up to the main campus the admission process included entrance exam , with cutoff that was a bit higher, but now the process included students from all over the country as cuet involved in the process, that could be a negative point as many students who did not even want to get into bhu could also come to this

Night Life

I was a day scholar therefore I don't have such experiences , but cafeteria and canteens were only handful in the locality, but as I mention it was in the Varanasi therefore a five star for that , but my friends have told me about the experiences they had and trust me they were all worth it.

I have choose this college as it is very economical in terms of its fees as i belong from varanasi itself and have applied for up scholarship which acted as cherry ob the cake. To get admitted here all you have to do is give CUET.

I like about this college that there is also a ground.
There is a play ground where we can play.

It's quite far from the main campus of BHU

Admission:

I wanted to do engineering and since I couldn't get into iit or nit, other engineering college aren't worth it i guess cause they are quite expensive and doesn't quite give you a good placement. I got here by cuet and bhu councilling cut-off is quite low in comparison to main campus

Likes

The College infrastructure is quite good.
Every basics thing are available inside the campus.

Dislikes

Class rooms are needed to be repaired, especially walls.
Benches in classrooms are like old ones.
Sports ground is not compatible to all the students .

A Candid Review Of My College Experience

Likes

I love the cafeteria of the college it is the best place for chill and fun
Other then above two i love the library of the college it is so clean and contains alot of books

Dislikes

I disliked the college ground although it is big but there is no proper distribution
Lack of proper canteen in the college there is only a small canteen in the college
I disliked the class of the college it is too old and needs renovation

So i appeared for cuet in 2022 and i applied for allahabad university and banaras hindu university I got 262 marks out of 400... and that's how i got the admission in bhu affiliated college that is dav pg college I was qualified for Allahabad university too because its cut-off is so low but the admission process is too slow and bhu admission process is fast that's why i take the admission in bhu instead of Allahabad university The admission process is very simple in my college they gave me a date to come for physical verification as soon i reached the college in the given date i was handed a form i have to fill it... i fill it with proper document and done i got the admission

Just like most of the colleges , paper work is done before and classes are started way late than that is mentioned

Admission:

Eligibility is that that you should have done a UG course You can easily find the application on BHU's official site , and you will get all the information on the site Definitely you will get reservation benefit if you are from OBC , SC , ST , EWS , PWD , the application fees is less for these in comparison to general candidates For taking admission is Central university like BHU you will have to give CUET exam which is a national level entrance exam , after the results the cut-offs are released Universitywise and for general the cut off is higher , for other categories the cut offs are lower . I feel that the cut offs should be same for each candidate and the admission process should not be lengthy .
