Course Curriculum Overview

3

I'm currently persuing BA(hons) Geography from Faculty of Arts. I had interest in geography since class 10. Therefore, I chosen this course. Curriculum doesn't prepare us, we have to prepare ourselves. My suggestion would be that some more younger professors need to be there. Exams are generally easy and their cycle is also good

Internships Opportunities

3

I'm a student of first semester, so I have not done any internship. Also, I don't have any information regarding them. But I'll surely try to know about them in future, take experience from them, and develop myself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very affordable, it's about only Rs. 2300 per year, which is very less. The hostel fee for residing in only Rs. 4875 per year, which is, again, very affordable. But the mess fee is about 3000 per month, which is not so affordable. There are no other or extra fee than the above mentioned fees. The fees for all the categories in my course is same. Most of the students get UP scholarship here, around 8000 per year.

Campus Life

4

Fests like Deepotsav are good attractions here. Freshers party was average. Library is the best. It has collection of more than 15 lakh books. And so much space to study. All the facilities are good. Many sports competitions are organised every year month. There are a lot of clubs here, and anyone can join them according to their interest.

Hostel Facilities

5

Infrastructure is very good. We got a bed, almirah and table. Meal quality depends on mess. Our mess is good. Just after getting enrolled in university, hostel is alloted as per merit and distance. Overall, hostel life is good

Admission

I applied for Lucknow University and Delhi University. But I chose BHU because it's a central university with good environment and also, it's easy to afford. I can't afford to live in Delhi. I made in all the colleges that I applied for, but chose this based on a practical analysis. Admission process is through CUET Exam. You just have to be 12th pass with atleast 75% in boards.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:50 in our college. The professors are supportive. Reaching them is moderately easy. At times, it's difficult to approach them. I like Arts Faculty, Science faculty, and IIT because these have so many extra co curricular activities organised. There's no such faculty that I don't like. Exams are generally easy to pass for everyone. We have only mid semester and end semester exams. Course curriculum is moderately relevant.

Night Life

4

There is a Shivaji Gym which is very big. Many libraries are present. Timing is around 8 to 5. Famous hangout places include Vishwanath temple (VT) and Bharat kala bhavan (Museum). Yes, locality is completely safe , even at night

It is very easy for me to take decision to choose this course because in other universities i failed in pratical examination, and that is why I have to take admission in this university .The curriculum preparation is only needed to be 2-3 mouth only,The areas for improvement in the is faculty members should change, instuments should be repaired, and one auditorium should be there, teachers should be try to get better from students. The frequency and timing of exam is perfect, ther announced there examination date before 2 mouth, the level of exam is moderate

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

There are many positives I have already talked about. The only negative thing I feel about my college is that the activities are not conducted in smooth manner always, many times there is ruckus created in the event so I suppose Faculty should manage it little better to avoid any trouble.
