HIMT LIFE

Likes

Himt College has good infrastructure consisting of sic, various lab and other amenities
The accommodation and mess are also good the rooms are big and the food in mess are very good .The cleanliness and quality of food is also good
The faculty in himt are very good they are very cooperative and well trained and experienced captains and faculties

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum in the college is pretty good it covers all the aspects of becoming a sea-worthy officer and will help us to gain knowledge about the duties on board. The curriculum will provide both theoretical and practical knowledge. Each semester is of 6 months and can be easily covered by a period of time.

Likes

College has great infrastructure with great faculty and environment which gives us great oppertunity to focus on our career goals
College gives great opportunity for sports and other career developments
We have good library with many informative books

They provide one of the best placement portals for these courses in the country with more than 75% placement assurance. The placement are with international top notch companys in the industry who provides great working environment and salary

HIMT STORIES

Likes

The infrastructure is very good inside the campus . The faculties are well experienced in sea field. All the sports and gym facilities are found here .
The food that we get in the mess is comparatively good than other campuses.
All the rooms and hostel facilities are very good

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the college curriculum as 8/10. Because this college is well disciplined and punctual. Talking about the improvement needed for the curriculum, as per my intern the curriculum is like ok ok for me

what is TMI all about

Likes

sports infrastructure is very well developed with numerous activites avaliable.
good campus life with good weather and good social life as well
good expericsed faculty and they are well qulified as well

Dislikes

study load is one of the main thing as a student
campus is ig so you have to walk a lot and the main building is about 1.5 km away from the hostle
tennis court should be maintend more for injury less playing

Placement Experience:

pacements are provided by the college but it depends on course to course like for bsc nutical science there is 1005 placement whre as for btech me there is almost 95% placement rate it a very good number and proper support is provided by the college management for placement

The Discipline in the campus I like the most
Faculties are too good and expert in their filed

Dislikes

There is no big canteen in the campus where we can enjoy food with friends

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is bsc nautical science when I complete this 3 year course I am eligible to go onboard ship for 12 months training on ship.this influence me to choose this course as it has both practical and theory knowledge. The curriculum prepares you for becoming officer on ship in deck department where the uppermost is captain. I thing teaching methods is good here but need to add more practical classes The exams are not that difficult if you study well you will come out with flying colours

Life at IMU

Placement Experience:

There has been a slight drop in our placements from time to time due to recession in maritime community but still if you are good in studies and top30-40% of the batch you will find no problem in getting placed , some companies visiting us are osm thome , chevron , nyk , mol and many more the highest salary provided in lng carriers of nyk that is 1200 dollars per month

Campus Placement is good as big companies comes here for placement and take good amount of cadets every year. Your salary depends on company and ship type you are sailing in . Companies like Pacific Basin , MOL etc

The campus it bit old but as it is said old is gold and also small

Placement Experience:

The placement starts from 2nd but few cadets also get placed in first year also Companies like wilhelmsen, NYK,FML, Anglo estern, Mol, Chevron, MSC , MSI, Pasific basin and many more almost 95 % cadets gets placed during their 3rd year if left the college also provide off campus placement to it's pass out cadets .

Campus has small area in comparison to other colleges

As per last 3 years college placements have gone up with avg batch placement percentage being 80% in total Many big companies hire students which are based in foreign countries Packages or Salary are all standardised as equal with avg being 35,000 INR per month
