08 Sep, 2025 NIRF Ranking 2025 has been released on September 4, 2025. IIM Udaipur secured the following positions:

#21 out of 125 colleges under “Management Category”

Established in 2011, IIM Udaipur is one of the newly established IIMs in India. It is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS. The institute has been ranked at 21 for Management in the NIRF Ranking 2025, while Outlook ranked it at 9 for the same year. IIM Udaipur Admissions are based on entrances. Candidates can apply via the institute’s official website.

Starting with the 2026-28 batch, IIM Udaipur will exit the Common Admission Process (CAP), and conduct its own admission for MBA. Candidates will be shortlisted based on CAT 2025 scores, along with the Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT).

IIM Udaipur’s flagship course is the 2-year MBA program offered here. Candidates are shortlisted for admission based on their CAT Scores. Final selection is based on CAT Scores, Personal Interview, and the candidate’s personal profile. The total intake for AY 2026-2028 is 375 seats. IIM Udaipur fees for MBA is INR 22.39 Lakhs in total. Ques. I got admission opportunities for MBA at IIM Udaipur and IIM Rohtak, should I go for any of these colleges or should I appear for CAT again?

Ans. It would be better to get admitted to any of these IIMs because giving one more year and sitting for CAT is a huge decision.

If you are targeting admission into the older IIMs, then sit for CAT again, only if you have an excellent academic record. The older IIMs lay emphasis on the past academic, which can’t be changed. So if you have a mediocre past record then don’t risk it and go for IIM Rohtak or IIm Udaipur

Ques. What are the facilities for students at IIM Udaipur?

Ans. IIM Udaipur campus is spread over 300 acres in the Aravalli Hills. The campus has state-of-the-art classrooms with wifi and air-conditioned accommodation. The campus has a fully equipped gym and other recreational facilities. There is a space for Yoga and meditation, a 24X7 medical center, an ATM, and eateries.

Ques. Is it worth applying for the Digital Enterprise Management program at IIM Udaipur? Since it is a new course, will it be risky?

Ans. Firstly, IIM Udaipur is among the first IIMs to launch the Digital Enterprise Management (DEM) program. There are not many IIMs that offer this course, so if you are interested in studying this program then go for it.

This program is designed based on the current requirements in the IT sector. There is a long-term benefit as this sector is only going to grow in the future. Also, this course has a pretty decent placement record with an average package of INR 21.67 LPA and the highest package of INR 35.44 LPA.

Ques. I have received admission offers for MBA from IIM Udaipur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Rohtak. Which one should I choose?

Ans. IIM Udaipur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Rohtak are second-generation IIMs, so the faculty and course curriculum offered will be top-notch and will be almost similar for all. You can look at the placement reports to make the decision.

Campus life is amazing. You will enjoy like nothing. These will be the best 2 years of your college and you will not forget them to the rrst of your life, People here are not that intelligent but they are fun to hangout with,
It is the best new IIM, the city is great and people come from far away to roam around Udaipur.
Academics is also good here. Even though people don't focus on it but the curriculum is good.

Case competition culture is not at all present. No body cares about case comms and it is a big concern for an MBA college
Quality of students is sub-par. The students are not great at all. People here mostly care about other things then studies and placements
Placements are still a concern, even though they are not baad but there is a lot to work on.

Placement scenario in campus and average package being offered

Campus placements is okayish. It is not as par as the college brand. It is still considered as a new IIM, rightfully so, but the average package is around 19.5 Lakh for final placements and for summar internships its around 1.5 Lakh for combined 2 months. Highest package is around 36 Lakh and 4 Lakh for internships.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

In terms of internships, companies like Accenture Strategy (4 Lakh), Pidilite (3L), Titan (3L), JM Financial (2L) etc comes. This is public data and its available on the website of IIM U and you can refer from there. For the fag end, the placements are bad. They get intenships for 10k, 15k and that too companies dont give after the internships. Apart from internships, live projects are floated by consulting club in IIM U

College events, various clubs and facilities available in campus

Social life is very very active in MBA program be it any college. IIM U is also the same,there are 34 clubs here and mostly people are part of 1 or 2 clubs. People party a lot and do the networking. There are many events like Solaris, TEDx, Utkrisht and Audacity which represents management, cultural festes etc. Overall the campus life is great and you will enjoy a lot in this college.

Total fees of the course and scholarships available for reserved category students

Total fees for the course is around 22 Lakh and you will also spend around 1.5-2 Lakh in the course duration atleast.You might think that it wont be the case but trust me, when it comes to MBA there are a lot of parties and other expenses even though you have paid for everything beforehand. There are scholarships floated after getting into this college but they are mostly for reserved category people. If you are from general then forget about the scholarship.

Students view on course curriculum

Curriculum is similar to other IIMs like A,B,C etc. Overall the course is paced out appropriately and faculties are also good. They have good infrastructure as well. IIM U is known for its research capabilities. Exams are mostly easy and it takes a lot to get failed. But generally there is less culture of studies in MBA college

Students view on facilities provided in college hostel

Hostel are really good. They provide single room with AC which is a great thing. The room space is also good with all the facilities like almera, daily cleaning, common washrooms are also clean most of the time. 2 people share 1 washroom and 1 bathroom. Mess food is also better than other colleges but obviously its a mess food so don't expect much

What are the various process involved during admission process in the college?

You need to take CAT Exam for getting admission into IIM Udaipur. Generally the cutoff for General category is around 96 percentile to get a interview call. After that a CAP Interview round is conducted then the overall result is declared. In the entire process they consider 10th, 12th, Under-grad, CAT and interview scores.

Review of IIMU-DEM Course

Likes

The college's infrastructure is extremely good. The classrooms are well suited for discussions. The class rooms are equiped with projectors LEDs.
It is a student run campus. The student body has a constitution to govern itself. There are a lot of clubs and committees which makes the campus more active.

Dislikes

The college is situated near aravalli hills. It is a very beautiful place visually but the city is 10-15 km away from the college and we need to travel a lot.
The reimbursement process through the student body for club activities is really time consuming.

Admission:

I applied for IIMK PGP - BL programme but didnt clear the interview. Then i got selected in IIMU DEM programme. I mainly chose this program because of its relevance to current digital era. The admission process involves applying for the college and submitting the video resume. Once selected there is an interview after which the selected list is rolled out. There are 5 phases of admissions. CTA/GRE/GMAT scores are accepted.

Admission:

The admission process was very smoth and transparent. IIM Udaipur releases The overall marks of the candidates and is very unique. However the whole process is very time consuming which is a con that I found.

IIM Udaipur - A great but incomplete place for a full time MBA

Campus life is great and always have something to enjoy

Campus was still under construction so a lot was missed.

Admission:

There is a 2 step and sometimes 3 step process for admission. First is the CAT (common aptitude test) and based on the percentile scored you get shortlisted for the interview round which is around 96 for the general category. You get selected based on the overall score with different weightage given to CAT score, Interview, work experience and X, XII and grad marks. The overall process is usually smooth but the gap between them is sometimes in months.

Academics is also good here. Even though people don't focus on it but the curriculum is good.
Campus life is amazing. You will enjoy like nothing. These will be the best 2 years of your college and you will not forget them to the rrst of your life, People here are not that intelligent but they are fun to hangout with,
It is the best new IIM, the city is great and people come from far away to roam around Udaipur.

Admission:

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from any reputed institution. They should have minimum perentage of 55%. After checking eligibility, they have to take CAT, which usually takes place in month of november every year. The form for CAT can be found on iimcat.ac.in Fill out the form and choose all the IIMs you want to participate in. The cut off for Udaipur was 92 percentile. Apart from overall cutoff, sectional cutoff needs to be cleared as well.

Overall Experience in IIM Udaipur

Admission:

Admission to IIM Udaipur is through the CAP process. Initially, you must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT- iimcat.ac.in) and choose all the IIMs you want to be admitted into. After you clear the cut-off for each of the sections in the test, you will get a call through an email saying CAP admissions. No different form has to be filled except for the CAT registration form for the CAP round, it is purely selection based. This CAP process includes New IIMs like Udaipur, Trichy, Ranchi, etc. The CAP process in 2022 (CAT exam 2021) was online with one Interview round, which tested personality and confidence. The results of the CAP round are usually announced in mid-May, following which the confirmed students need to pay Rs 100000 as a confirmation fee which would be deducted from the actual 1st term fee amount.

Admission:

A minimum of 50% is required in under graduation and there were overall criteria of greater than 85 percentile overall. Sectional cutoff of 60 percentile. You can find all the concerned details reg the application on CAT's official website and there are other forums, which are very useful.

IIM Udaipur - The best New IIM

Admission:

The admission was through an entrance exam CAT followed by PI. The application starts at CAT 2023 in September each year. The application fee is approx 2000 and graduation is the minimum eligibility criteria followed by some cap of 10 and 12 per cent.

Brief intro to IIMU

Admission:

CAT+ profile+ PI Our process was online. I would have preferred an offline one. Rest was ok. Too much orientation on acads is also not good because of which alot of traits are not judged properly Eligibility for iimu is bachelor's in any degree with valid cat score. Also 10,12 grad has to be above 50 from what I remember

Shortcomings: One major shortcoming in her profile was the one year gap she took post 12th to prepare for her Medical Entrance Exam.

Some points of inference from her profile are

Your past academics matter but not more than your CAT percentile
You can get admission despite being a fresher
You need to be confident while delivering your answers
In case of a gap, you should have a convincing answer to it

Which one should I choose between IIT Madras DoMS and IIM Udaipur for an MBA?

My choice will forever be IIM Udaipur solely because of the IIM tag. I know people will criticize me for this mindset but one cannot ignore the IIM brand name. Moreover IIT is a top technical institute but it’s a fact that its Management Department is not at par with the top B Schools.

IIM Udaipur curriculum is way more rigorous and structured than that of IIT Madras.
The 2-year flagship courses offered by IIMs just does not groom you academically but mentally also. It makes you ready to step into the real corporate world.
The curriculum at IIMs are very demanding and require a lot of determination, hard work and sacrifices on the part of students. This disciplines them and also grooms their personality.
The quality of peer learning is excellent at IIMs as you interact with masterminds from various backgrounds and fields.

Overall I feel curriculum-wise IIM has more to offer than an IIT simple because of the fact that it specializes in the field.

How good can the digital enterprise management program at IIM Udaipur be?

One of my friends went for this course and had a great experience and exposure through it. He described his first term experience as a thrilling one. The first term electives comprised the foundation of business such as Economics, Accounting, and Marketing. Etc. These foundation courses were combined with some digital industry subjects such as Advanced Analytics-I, Agile & DevOps.

Term 2 focuses more on technical subjects like Cloud, IoT, Blockchain, and digital business courses such as Digital Transformation Management, Product Management, etc. Students are asked to make projects on business implementation and understanding of Analytics and Technology.

Some major highlights of the program are

Excellent faculty along with visiting professors that are industry experts
Great emphasis is placed on student feedback thereby maintaining a student-driven culture. This also helps in regular evaluations and improvements.
This course is best suited for a digital industry freak and offers a lot in this area

Overall his experience was quite good.

Great emphasis is placed on top category journals both for study/reference purposes and for publications.

The programs will be inaugurated from April or May tentatively at the IIM Udaipur. IIM Udaipur offers MBA, MBA-GSCM, MBA-DEM, PGDBA-WE, and PhD as its major courses. IIM Udaipur MBA Admissions are based on a valid score in CAT. Candidates shortlisted through CAT score are further selected for Personal Appearance (PA), which is a common process for all IIMs participating in the CAP.

The IIM Udaipur shortlisted candidates can apply for the interview rounds.

IIM Udaipur attained 16th rank in the Management category by NIRF Rankings 2023 with a 62.79 score. Indian Institute of Management Udaipur ranked 22 with a 59.28 score in 2022 by NIRF. IIM Udaipur has been recently ranked by QS World University Rankings 2024 for Masters in Management (MIM) and is ranked 151+ among the programs worldwide. Also, the institute is accredited by AACSB for being among the top global B-Schools. IIM Udaipur has become the fourth IIM to have this accreditation along with IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta. IIM Udaipur is also the youngest accredited B-School in India.

The total fee for the MBA DEM course at the IIM Udaipur is INR 22.75 Lakhs. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree, 36 Months of Work Experience, and Valid CAT / GMAT / GRE Scores are eligible to apply for the program. The application fee for the IIM Udaipur DEM program is INR 1000 which must be paid online using a Credit Card / Debit Card while uploading the requisite documents. Students with a minimum of 10+2 years of school education and three years of university education with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline are required to apply to the IIM Udaipur DEM program. A minimum of 36 months of full-time work experience is required as of February 28, 2024.

Yes, IIM Udaipur Hostels have a rich infrastructure which offers 3 hostel buildings along with an academic block in the campus. The hostels are equipped with all sorts of luxuries and facilities ready to be utilized by the residential students. IIM Udaipur Hostels include a living expense of INR 2,76,000/- including all essential facilities like mess etc. There are 2 hostels for boys named Ramanujan Boys Hostel and MDS Hostel for Boys and 1 Girls Hostel named MDS Hostels with similar facilities in all hostels.

Valid GMAT or GRE score (not older than 5 years from the date of GMAT/GRE) or CAT score of tests taken in 2020 or later, or Score of the IIMU Test to be conducted by IIM is required. Candidates seeking admission to the PGDBA WE program at IIM Udaipur must fill out the application form online by visiting the official website.
