IIM Udaipur PhD is a full-time 5 years program offered in 5 different specializations. Students with a Master’s degree (2 years/1 year) are eligible for admission to PhD course at IIM Udaipur. Admission to IIM Udaipur PhD course is merit-based. Students must secure a valid score in the Research Aptitude Test (RAT) followed by the Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the institute itself. IIM Udaipur also accepts valid scores in CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ NET-JRF for admission to Finance & Accounting, Marketing and Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management.

IIM Udaipur offers various financial assistance to aid students in their research and other living expenses. The institute offers a monthly stipend of INR 37,000 - INR 44,000 for students. IIM Udaipur also encourages students to actively participate in international conferences/seminars and offers grants up to INR 2 Lakhs. The institute also selects 2 students every year for their Semester Abroad program and covers all the expenses.

IIM Udaipur PhD Eligibility Criteria 

IIM Udaipur offers admission to PhD courses for students meeting the following eligibility criteria:

• Students with 1 year Master’s degree program after 4 years of Bachelor’s degree are eligible. 
• Applicants with 2 years of Master’s degree after 3 years of Bachelor’s degree are also eligible for PhD Admission at IIM Udaipur. 
• Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate in Master’s. 
• Candidates with CA (ICAI), ICWA, and CS along with a Bachelor’s degree with 60% aggregate are also eligible for admission. 
• 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor's Degree with 75% marks or equivalent.
• Students must be graduating from the UGC-recognized university. 

Final year (Bachelor’s/Master’s) degree students applying for PhD program at IIM Udaipur before receiving their degree will be provided with provisional acceptance. Applicants must submit a bonafide certificate at the time of registration signed by HOD stating that the applicant has completed all examinations/submissions required to complete the degree.

IIM Udaipur PhD Reservation 

IIM Udaipur offers reservations for PhD courses as per the Government of India’s Reservation Policy. The institute offers reservation of 7.8% for Differently Abled People and 15.5% of seats for students form Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Here is the detailed information about the reservation. 

IIM Udaipur PhD Sponsorships 

IIM Udaipur offers a complete fee waiver for PhD students. The institute also provides grants and stipends to cover tuition, accommodation, research and other living expenses. IIM Udaipur also sponsors students to attend/ present papers at national and international conferences/seminars to enhance their knowledge and provide exposure. Some of the IIM Udaipur Sponsorships offered for PhD students are as follows: 

• Monthly Stipend: IIM Udaipur offers a monthly stipend of INR 37,000 (first 2 years), INR 40,000 on clearing the comprehensive exam, and INR 44,000 after the proposal defence.
• Accommodation: All PhD students at IIM Udaipur are offered single accommodation at no cost. Married students receive INR 10,000 monthly rental subsidy for housing. 
• IIM Udaipur also offers a one-time allowance of up to INR 50,000 to purchase Laptop/PC.
• Contingency Grant: Students are eligible for financial assistance of INR 50,000 (1st year) and INR 25,000 (2nd - 3rd year) for purchasing books, research materials, stationery, hardware and software. 
• Research Funds: IIM Udaipur also provides INR 1,50,000 to aid students with research under the supervision of the advisor.
• Grant for National/International Conferences: Students receive INR 20,000 per year to attend national conferences/seminars and a grant of INR 2 Lakhs to attend international conferences/seminars over 4 years. 

Students co-authoring research papers with IIM Udaipur faculty members can receive additional funding of INR 2 Lakhs for attending international conferences. IIM Udaipur selects 2 students per year for a Semester Abroad program based on merit for 4 months at renowned universities abroad. All the costs will be covered by the institute.
