Overall Experience in IIM Udaipur

IIM Udaipur has only shown an upward growth record in placement reports as well as Academics. The rigor in Acads is high, but it has a perfect balance of practical and theoretical knowledge. The courses include interesting case studies, and some mandatory certification courses within the curriculum help to boost your CV. The batch size varies from 300-330, and the classroom size is 60-65, with a decent faculty-student ratio. All the faculties are highly qualified, and other guest faculties are from old IIMs with good experience in the industry. The teaching method is unique for everyone, the smart way of learning by keeping the core content constant but methodologies vary from section to section. There are 3 terms in each year with timely End and Midterm exams. Full Attendance is non-negotiable for the first year of the course.

The summer internship had 83 recruiters for different job roles. There were a diverse group of industries that took part in the process. The projects are live and the companies usually take inputs from the interns, which they use in company growth. The average stipend is 83000 per month for the year 2023 and the internship is for 2 months.

The Placement Report of IIM Udaipur is audited, and it shows all the correct data, which can be relied upon. there are 2 types of placement firstly in the first term for Summer Internship and then in the 5th term for the Finals. For 2023 final Placements there were 100+ recruiters with 200+ roles. The average package is 20.37 LPA, with the highest package being 36.83 LPA, with the median as 19 LPA.

Fees are slightly at the higher end as compared to that of the New IIMs, but taking an educational loan is very easy with floating interest rates. Many banks also have their desks on campus during the Induction and Registration process. Scholarship and Finacial Assistance can be availed by providing relevant proofs and the process is quite smooth.

Life at IIM Udaipur is extraordinary, the experience is unique, and the kind of social circle you get is top-notch. There are plenty of fests organized along with Leadership series where top leaders of the Industry interact with you, and it gives you a way to see the world from a different perception. The Annual Fest is an extravagant event where world-renowned performers contribute and the best part is, it is completely managed by students- therefore you learn a lot. Classrooms are well equipped with amenities better than old IIMs, all are smart classrooms with compulsory biometrics for attendance. There are 35 clubs and committees altogether which include professional, social, and administrative levels. Every club and committee is run by students.

IIM Udaipur provides a single-room accommodation for everyone with all the amenities like an AC cupboard, table, and desk inside the room. Also, there is a laundry, washing machine, induction, and refrigerator for common use. The quality of food is decent, with a diverse menu.

Admission to IIM Udaipur is through the CAP process. Initially, you must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT- iimcat.ac.in) and choose all the IIMs you want to be admitted into. After you clear the cut-off for each of the sections in the test, you will get a call through an email saying CAP admissions. No different form has to be filled except for the CAT registration form for the CAP round, it is purely selection based. This CAP process includes New IIMs like Udaipur, Trichy, Ranchi, etc. The CAP process in 2022 (CAT exam 2021) was online with one Interview round, which tested personality and confidence. The results of the CAP round are usually announced in mid-May, following which the confirmed students need to pay Rs 100000 as a confirmation fee which would be deducted from the actual 1st term fee amount.

There was no GD round for the CAP process in 2022; the interview questions were related to your previous life- for example, Work experience, Academics- schooling, hobbies, and some General Awareness related to your work ex or hobbies why MBA? Also in the CAP process, the interview is conducted by different IIMs under CAP, for 2022 it was done by IIM Trichy and this is usually on a rotational basis. The composite score is calculated which varies for each of the IIMs giving different weightage to CAT percentile, Interview performance, and Work Experience.
