I loved the greenery in the campus and the whole campus is just a very beautiful place to explore in the initial days. The buildings are huge and the view of powai from the terrace and powai lake is just beautiful to watch
The faculty and mentorship is also very good there are teaching assistants for all the courses and the faculty are experts in that field they are PhD scholars in top universities and are carrying their research in IIT Bombay
The gymkhana facility and academic facilities are top notch, we have AC libraries and 24*7 open reading halls and the sports equipment is also very well built and the infrastructure is also very good.
Dislikes
The infrastructure of the hostel. The size of room is small in many hostels and is a bit congested. and the food in mess is okayish which can be improved
Since there is a lot of greenery and some hostels are near a lot of trees sometimes snakes might appear near hostels which are needed to be taken care of.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is well developed which helps in more of a interdisciplinary thinking than sticking to the major we are trying to pursue which helps us in thinking out of the box. Although I would recommend to decrease the time that we are supposed to spend on these courses and in that time give us a project to choose which helps us in real world applications so that we can get a good understanding and how to approach such projects. All the basics are well kept in all the courses but it would be better to some work load in a course and give a challenging project instead.
Faculty experience is the best, they are experts in their own fields
Campus engagement is the most fun part, there are many connections made along the way
Dislikes
Curriculum is a bit rigorous which results in no free time for students
Placement Experience:
From 7 semester students become eligible for csmpus placements. Highest package goes to 4 crores and average up till 23.5 lakhs. I would sit for placements after my degree. Placements percentage is almost 95 percent.
The flexibility in academics and to choose other domain is what I appreciate most
The availability of different club nurishing various kind of culture
The great networking with seniors and alumni
Dislikes
being very rigid regarding discipline that a professor can fail you in a course.
Placement Experience:
Placements are excellent. this year even after the recession the number of the students get placed was high and also they grabbed a decent package. Since being a second year students I do not possess these statistical data
Opportunity for growth and the mindset of people is very well versed and developed.
College festivals are very fun and many celebrities come for performances and interviews.
Professors and staff are great and will answer any doubt you may have and also guide you on your career.
Dislikes
Probably the sports are not that focused as they should be. But are fine nevertheless
There is lack of awareness among students about the electives and courses to be taken.
Hostel wise segregation is bit random and makes it difficult for people to mingle and generate ideas but still works to an extent
Placement Experience:
Placement system is very organised and respectful to both the student and the company. I feel there are a lot of hurdles to go through but they are reasonable and needed to ensure a smooth and efficient placement season for students and the companies to find what they're looking for.
The internship season in the third year was also good but there is a lack of awareness in people about what to do to get a nice placement and counselling should be provided
Really good infrastructure (like classrooms, labs etc)
The placement services are best here, they organise seminars related to placement
The policies regarding anti ragging are very strict
Dislikes
Courts for playing sports are well Maintained but they close a bit early
Hostel management can be slightly improved
Placement Experience:
I think from 6th semester people starts gettint placed (i am not sure as i am a fresher and i dont know much about placements). The highest package was 3cr and average was 20lakhs according to my knowledge and the percentage of students placed was around 90 percent. I plan on doing masters after i get my btech degree
Every field has opportunities to grow and progress in.
Many cultural and extra-curricular activities
Every sports facility imaginable, along with tournaments
Dislikes
Hostel rooms are kind of small and cramped for two people
Too many things to do for any one person
Hectic schedules for students in mandatory courses
Student Snaps:
Placement Experience:
Students who have completed the 7th semester are eligible for placements. An incredible amount of companies and fresh startups recruit in campus placement. People who apply for placements almost always get an offer, however, a not-insignificant number of students opt to launch a startup instead, which is what I intend to do.
The sports facility and how seriously they are taken.
The different clubs and each club actively oraganising events.
The faculties are so interested in their subjects and are eager to explain every single detail of the topics.
Dislikes
The boys to girl ratio is low about 4:1 which leaves many people single.
A bit of academic pressure is here to perfom better.
The timetable gets a bit too hectic sometimes.
Placement Experience:
After 7th semester students are eligible for placements.
The detailed placement reports are on the internet at the websites. Companies like google apple samsung visit campus for placements every year.
More than 70% students are placed.
After getting degree I would like to be part of a startup .
sports facilities are the best in the country including 25+ different sports
Placement Experience:
Campus placements are the best at IIT Bombay with average package going to 22 lacs CTC per annum and 4cr per annum as highest package as of last years data. All the top comapanies in each field come to recruit from IIT Bombay like Apple, Google, Walmart, Deloitte, Bain and company, Ernst & Young and many more.
There is a lot of freedom and very much gender equality, we can go out and roam in campus at any time of the hour wearing shorts or anything irrespective of wheather we are a boy or a girl
A lot of freedom in lectures, most of the profs dont care about attendances
The sports facilities are the BEST here, olympic sized pools and international facilities for badminton and squash cricket football table tennis, world class gym and much more.
Dislikes
The time for classes is a bit off, too long breaks in the middle, labs in the night
A lot of academic pressure and too much cultural stuff hapoening at the same time
Too much hyped, just a regular college with better alumni and better exposure, the packages are not so extraordinary
Student Snaps:
Placement Experience:
The placements are good, although 70% of the class is placed is non core but the core jobs are also good, the top recruiter being L&T, many student head over for indian engineering services and also to indian civil services.
The campus life is excellent, there is freedom for students in the campus
The lab facilities are top class and they provide good learning experience
Sports facilities, lecture halls are top notch
Dislikes
Hostel rooms can be better , they should renovate
Placement Experience:
From 7th semester students can be eligible for placements. World leading companies like google, Microsoft, amazon, etc come for placements in iit bombay. This year the average package was around 23 lpa and multiple students got 1cr + annual package
