We reg for the hostel even the people living in mubai opts for that because sometimes we have late night classes or some club acitivities . The room is shared by 2 students , we have all the facilities from free internet to hot water 24*7 , hostels are inside the campus only mostly 1km away from lecture hall , we travel in insti using bicycle and the quality of meal we are served meal 4 times a day and it has everthing in it from fruits milk to sports salad a well balance meal we also have gala dinner once in a sem and tea party with lots of tasty food .
Rooms (my room, hostel 15) are clean and decently sized. Mess food is served 4 times a day and is decent for the price, and they attempt to include a wide variety of cultures across India in the meals. Registration, room allotment, mess registration happens seamlessly during admission and I had no issues with it. Hostel fees are included with tuition fees when you pay per semester. Most students live on campus. Some of the older boys hostels are a bit small and definitely need revamping.

The hostel which I alloted is one of the newest hostel and that is H-18 and food there is so yummy as compared to other hostel and even better among all other hostels. Registration process is shared over email but simply all things are not as much complicated but first just crack this college. That is single occupancy hostel but due to unavailability of hostels first year mtech have to stay there in double occupancy which is meant for single person which is fine very uncomfortable. They provide paneer bhurji and egg bhurji daily in breakfast with boiled egg and apart from that it is idli, dosa and other things and on lunch they give fish once a week for which you have to pay extra and also egg bhurji and omelette they give on pay basis daily. On dinner chicken they serve twice a week on paybasis and rest items are yaa seasonal.
Facilities are like bed and cot and requirements for freshing up during morning and coming to meal quality it was good in the morning breakfast and average lunch and dinner some can manage and some may go out for a dinner. Registration process will be discussed at the start of the 1st semester at IIT Bombay , and hostel rooms are not spacious which is the main problem .
Facilities provided in rooms - study table, wardrobe, sockets, ethernet ports. Facilities in hostel - washing machines, dryers, general store, stationary shop, canteens and restaurants nearby. Mess Food - quality is average, sometimes the meals are very delicious but mostly the food gets quite boring due to the repetitive menus. But special meals are very tasty. The food is nutritious and you sometimes get sweets, fruits, milkshakes, lassi, butter milk. Both the hostel and mess are very affordable. In fact they charge just 1/4th of the cost as compared to other private colleges and institutes.

Hostels are okayish, like liveable. The rooms are small at hostel-1 which is old. But there are a lot of other facilities like common rooms, musics room yoga room gym tt and pool room, theatre room etc. The mess is quite good they offer everything including from maggie burgers to chhole bhature pav bhaji and gol gappe, and also classic indian food like paneer and aloo etc
From 1st to 3rd year, students are accomodated in double sharing rooms. Rooms are enough spacious for two people to live in it. Each student is provided with a study table, a chair, an almirah and an ethernet port. Mess food is good. Meal is given 4 times a day (i.e. breakfast, lunch, sancks and dinner).
Hostels are very nice.In first of MSC you are get TANSA hostels and in 2nd year you are alloted H17. Mace food quality varies from hostel to hostel. But overall food quality is good Coming to hostel in 1st year there is a double sharing room whereas in 2nd year there is single room for each student.
Hostels are big with the accomodation to the 200 - 700 students each and the food they provide is felresh and good and they also provide milk one time and the hostels are clean and huge size. They bathrooms are neat and clean.

IIT Bombay has 3 kinds of hostel facilities for undergrads
At the end of the day, the size of your hostel room hardly matters in your college life. You get habitual after a few months and it becomes the smallest issue.

The hostels always have a tonne of events going on, which makes life enjoyable here away from home. All year long, there are numerous intra- and inter-hostel competitions/events based on sports and culture activities. In addition, a number of festivals including Janmashtami, Lohri, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, Diwali, etc. are observed at the hostels. Flag Hoisting takes place on Republic Day and Independence Day. These events facilitate mingling and breaking the ice with seniors and fellow batchmates.

My brother had the pleasure of staying at hostels 9, 16, and now 13 in chronological order. However, he claimed not one hostel had the complete facilities one expects in a hostel. I have described each hostel in a few pointers
