- Opportunity for growth and the mindset of people is very well versed and developed.
- College festivals are very fun and many celebrities come for performances and interviews.
- Professors and staff are great and will answer any doubt you may have and also guide you on your career.
Dislikes
- Probably the sports are not that focused as they should be. But are fine nevertheless
- There is lack of awareness among students about the electives and courses to be taken.
- Hostel wise segregation is bit random and makes it difficult for people to mingle and generate ideas but still works to an extent
Course Curriculum Overview
Relevance is lower as succulents prefer going to banking sector or consulting sector more. Although for a person going into their core branch's career it's well versed but can still be improved with more computer based courses and lot of things are repetitive in the labs and overlapping in some closures. This can be improved
Placement Experience
Placement system is very organised and respectful to both the student and the company. I feel there are a lot of hurdles to go through but they are reasonable and needed to ensure a smooth and efficient placement season for students and the companies to find what they're looking for. The internship season in the third year was also good but there is a lack of awareness in people about what to do to get a nice placement and counselling should be provided
Fees and Financial Aid
I am Kartikay Agrawal a fourth year student at IIT Bombay and I got admission through JEE and my rank was 2625 in advance. The fee structure is around 250000 per year including hostel and mess and tuition and hospital fees. There are many Solaris available through banks and government that help people. Also is you're from reservation sections your fees is very low around 14000 excluding mess fees that's same for everyone around 23000. Per semester.
Campus Life
Campus life has never been boring like the friends and the festivals have always been fun and energetic. The social clubs are nicely distributed and you can find anything that you want to do and there will be people with similar interests to learn from and grow.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are two types there are old ones with a maximum three floor design but are quite used and wore down with twin sharing and old facilities also there are new hostels that are more than nine floor tall with better facilities and the issue is there are a lot of people in the new hostels so the food is not that good
Admission
This was the best college for civil engineering in India and although having an incline towards mechanical engineering its distance was the shortest compared to other IIT colleges in India from my home. I also thought that the top ramjets of India the smarter people will come here and that's what I found.
Faculty
There are a total of 10000+ students in our college including BTECH MTECH AND PhD students. Number of professors are a lot I don't have the exact figures but there are enough to get an idea about the understanding of an idea or a concept with each of them being a master in their line of work. Curriculum has been updated recently and focused more towards digitalisation and AI and data analysis. Faculty is very accomadating and helpful as well as resource full
