Course Curriculum Overview
Introduction to branches are given to the first year students , so they understand their course in a better way and develop interest in it. Class activities are also conducted regularly for engaging the students. Through practicals and labs students learn about real world applications of studies.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like google, Microsoft, amazon,Zomato etc offer internship to students.They assign various projects to students to make them aware about the industry and how it works, many students get this opportunity.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester students can be eligible for placements. World leading companies like google, Microsoft, amazon, etc come for placements in iit bombay. This year the average package was around 23 lpa and multiple students got 1cr + annual package
Fees and Financial Aid
Per semester tution fee is 1lakh , the hostel fee is 16,900 rupees per semester, mess fee is 22500 per semester. Scholarship is given for annual income less than 5 lakh. No tuition fee is applicable for sc/st candidates.
Campus Life
Mood Indigo, techfests, inter iits, etc are held in iit bombay. These are held after end sem exams. The sports facilities are very good in iit bombay. Extra curricular activities also include cultural clubs which includes singing, dancing, acting etc
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilituws include two beds, one ceiling fan, two cupboards , two study tables etc. The mess gives breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The food is good. The registration for hostel and mess happens during the time of admission.
Admission
I applied for other iits such as iit Delhi, iit Hyderabad, iit roorkee , iit kanpur etc. I got confirmed admission in all of them for non circuital branches. But I chose iit Bombay over other colleges because of its excellence which is evident in qs world rankings and also its brand value and tag. Admission in iit bombay for btech can be done through jee advanced only
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is good, there is one professor for about 150-200 students, the professors teach nicely. There are quizes , midsem and endsem exams. The difficulty is moderate to hard and is doable if student studies well.
