The faculties teaching here are all smart people who are foremost in their areas of research and teach with great inspiration.
The campus provides placements and internship opportunities for us, which helps a lot for us in building our career.
My experience with campus life at iit gandhinagar has been characterized by vibrant social interactions, active club involvement, and excellent infrastructure.

Dislikes

I don't like that there are only two mess which causes us delay
PLACEMENT over here is also not that great as cse branch had been introduced over here in the recent years
Some lectures such as World Civilization and Cultures are very boring.

When you come for placement with enjoyment and memories then this is place for you.

Likes

Sports complex inside college which has all sports it infra is amazing
Library it is the well furnished library with acs everywhere and good infra
Overall you will love the infrastructure of college.

Dislikes

I dislike the 4 sharing room in first year.

Placement Experience:

The college provide good placement in my department Of computer science and engineering the college provide 98% students placed with an avg CTC 29lpa. Highest is 80 lpa which is incampus placement in Atlassian.

IIT Gandhinagar: Is a second-gen IIT worth it

Likes

Very great campus which provides a lot of freedom to students in choosing their career feilds
Campus has less strength which makes opportunities accessible to all students
Sports complex is very amazing with professional coaches

Dislikes

Management is quite strict regarding student run activities
Refund money take a lot of time to process.
Literally the whole campus is awake till 4 am in the morning

Placement Experience:

Due to the recession this year, companies coming for placements are quite low. But if you are in CSE and have a good grasp of DSA and Computer Science fundamentals with some decent projects there is a high chance that you will get placed. Companies generally visit during October and student in their last year typically 7th semester are applicable for sitting in placements. Companies like Google, Zomato, InMobi and Gaviton etc visit the campus and typically take around 3 people per role. Average package offered is around 22 LPA and mostly all CSE students get placed at the end of the placement year who have registered themselves for placements.

Campus - The campus is very good and green. Lots of Flora and fauna is there
Mess Food - Mess food is fssai 5 star rated and is very good.
Culture - The culture of the institute is very good

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester. There are many companies that visits our campus. Total number of offers varies from 100 to 250 in our institute. Highest package can go upto 70 LPA (CTC) and average package is around 19000. Around 80% of the students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is go to higher studies abroad.

Fastastic Experience of IIT GN

Likes

Guidance of Seniors, Environment of college is very friendly and helpful.
College also provide internship opportunities.
Seminars are being conducted time to time and amazing fests also.

Dislikes

Some humanity courses are mandatory which don't seems much helpful.
In first year we to study the courses of all the branches which don't related to our domain.
Weightage of core courses is low. It should be high than others.

Placement Experience:

In seventh semester students start participating in placements. Companies like Amazon, Byju's visit our college campus. Highest pacage is around 65 lac/anm and avg is around 18 lac/anm, 60% of students are palaced. My plan is also getting a palacement.

Life at IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

The campus environment. It is a very environmental friendly place with lush green trees.
Campus Life is very vibrant. Fests, and events are conducted timely with students involvement.
Infrastructure of the campus is also very good, the classrooms, the library and hostels are highly equipped

Dislikes

I think internship opportunities should be offered more for every branch students.
Mess does not provide non vegetarian food for free.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are offered in third year for internships and fourth year for jobs. Barclays, Infosys,TCS, Deloitte and they offer a lot of opportunities. For my branch that is computer science the average package is approximately 30000 and highest package 82000 CTC. In our branch 95 percent of the students are placed. My plans after getting the degree is to get placed in a good company at a good position.

Likes

I liked the courses here and teaching by faculty.
I also liked extracurricular activities like clubs and fests.
I like the opportunities provided by the college internships and placements.

Dislikes

Mess is a little less spicier even though it is diverse.

The campus provides placements and internship opportunities for us, which helps a lot for us in building our career. Internships usually are after 3rd year 2nd semester and placements are after 4th year 2nd semester. Many companies like Barclays, JSW, Adani, Delloitte, Infosys,etc. For CSE, the average package is 30LPA. And this avg package is growing yearly. In CSE department, almost 99% students are placed. My plan after my degree is to work in a good company. I feel the campus makes sure to give good opportunities for us.

My experience at IIT Gandhinagar.

Likes

I like the curriculum at IIT Gandhinagar which is very flexible. Here you can explore courses of all the branches.
I love the facilities which include hostels and sports facilities and many other student run organisations, which include technical and cultural fests.
The college also focuses on entrepreneurship and leadership development. Which is very crucial in this modern age.

Dislikes

The placements here at IIT Gandhinagar are very less compared to other IITs.
I don't like some of the compulsory courses which are offered at the institutes, which include history and social science courses.
The mess food is slightly off and biased towards north Indian style.

Placement Experience:

From the starting of 3rd year students are eligible to apply for campus internships and placements. The percentage of placement is around 80 to 90% in the last academic year. Some of the companies that visited the campus in the last academic year include Texas Instruments and Nvidia. I am planning to pursue MBA after completing my b.tech in IIT Gandhinagar.

Things I like are our sports complex, which is all high tech and all the facilities are available

Dislikes

I disliked how everything is student run in our campus
There is no interaction between the seniors and juinors
Our campus is not lively none of the clubs are active

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester they are eligible for the placements, I am still in my second year so I am not sure about all the companies and their offers, I ll list a few like Barclays, atlassian, HDFC, Google, etc I think highest package this year is 85 Lakhs, and average package is maybe around 20 Lakhs. They won't be sharing the percentage of students getting placed so I don't know about it. My plan is to get placed in the college itself

Life in the campus

Likes

Students have no restrictions until it comes to the disciplinary actions.
Top class faculities in labs and also the sports complex
Here students are treated as adults .

Dislikes

Landmark as there are no malls near the campus.
Funds alloted to events are quite less but hoping for increment in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum has been very good since the past few years. Study materials and data became easily accessible, making it easier for everyone to get the sources. Also they are very much organized and once you are strong in basics , you can start scoring pretty good marks.

The Ultimate Guide to IIT Gandinagar

Likes

Hostel and sports facilties , natural beauty of the campus
The quality of food provided by mess is good.
The curriculum offered here is quite balanced and effective .

Dislikes

the distance of the college from the city is large
There are various wild animals roaming around in the campus
There are various events now and then , So there is a lot of noise in the hostel area.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario here is good like the average placement across all the branches is about 15 lakhs per annum. and talking about the computer Science branch , it about 29 lakh per annum . The major companies that come to the campus are Atlassian, Devrepp, PUMA, Amul, SkanAI, Citi bank etc . The highest package is about 75 lakh annum which was offered by Accenture Japan and for India , it was about 57 lakh offered by Atlassian . Almost all the student sitting for the placement get placement get placed and only those student remains which either want to get into higher studies or they want to build their own startup.

IIT Gandhinagar has a great CSE department. The professors are among the best in India. Almost 50% of the faculty members are from the industry. So, you will get hands-on learning experience and in-depth knowledge about the current trends in the industry.

IITGN has a high-performing computer lab and two departmental labs with a capacity of 100 computers each. The research interface of the department is something the institute boasts about. Professors actively take part in cutting-edge research projects.

It is an interdisciplinary and flexible course. It provides great insight into the cultural codes in the context of nations & societies.
You will develop a good skill base for doctoral studies, policy work, consultancy and it opens up a wide range of careers.
